More than just a transaction! My first time using bitcoin for payment

You have those magic words that make this lady agree and trust you. I appreciate your effort, man, spending several hours just to educate a stranger and an innocent person. Maybe this lady senses interest too when she hears about Bitcoin. And I'm sure she already heard about Bitcoin, but no one has taught her or even talked about it.

But I have a question—what happened to her now? Is she buying Bitcoin, or has she already sold it? Just curious, but I hope she did things right and continues learning about Bitcoin.

My thoughts exactly it will be a very big red flag for me to be convinced about a certain Payment method in just that short time and I’ll agree to accept for selling my product most especially if I have no knowledge about it at prior to the purchase or from even a total stranger. This lady in question has really trusted him to some certain extent which I don’t think I would have been able to if it was me.

You raised a point though about why would a shop state they accept bitcoin payments and don’t know how to even use it for transactions. This is questionable, and even making the whole story look cooked and illogical. even though from OP’s post, I can’t see where he said the shop stated they deal with bitcoin payment prior to his purchase.

There is few hiccups in this story, looks made up to me but that's fine, who the hell is accepting Bitcoin payments and don't have a clue about Bitcoin wallet? How is this even possible?

I know how customers behaves when you don't answer them very quickly, so you as a store owner accepting payment option that you don't know anything about makes no sense.

I doubt this is a true story, but it is giving you the benefit of the doubt. I am wondering why you have determined you will buy goods through Bitcoin payments when the shopkeeper isn’t aware of Bitcoin. And wondering how a random person trusts you since he isn’t aware of Bitcoin and how it works.

I have used Bitcoin as well, but for online purchases. I haven’t used Bitcoin payments for real-life shops since Bitcoin isn’t legal in my country. It seems you spent a lot of time explaining to her about the Bitcoin payment, but this isn’t enough to explain Bitcoin to a brand-new user. Make sure she has understood at least the basic things about Bitcoin and Bitcoin payments.

First step is the very hard step for everyone who wanted to be with something new to them and good thing that you are using a crypto transaction and I thought too that the other party are aware to make a transaction without having really some knowledge how it works and she trusted you to help about payment transaction of your bitcoin for me its way more risky or it's a made up story. Well, if its real that's the time of both of you are now enlighten about the use of the crypto transaction how it's so useful for fast, secure, and transparent.

I don't know if your story is true, but this is the first time I've heard of someone teaching someone about Bitcoin so quickly and convincing them to accept Bitcoin. Didn't you have fiat currency? And you should have bought products from stores that accept payment through Bitcoin. Anyway, it will be risky for the merchant because Bitcoin is not stable, so will he be able to convert Bitcoin to a stable currency at the right time? Did you give him an idea about this? If not, then the merchant may suffer losses.

This story is fabricated and I'm not sure if it's true. If OP is close to the person perhaps they have been a close friend and has been buying things there before, I will say it's easy to convince friends to try something they have not use before. You can't out of no where tell somebody to accept something they don't plan to have, even if the person knows about Bitcoin before, he will still want to have his money because that's his business money we are talking about.

If this is a centralized exchange deposit and it involves Bitcoin, I will be convince that what he said is true since the transaction will be an internal one, there will not be charges for fees, there will be no waste of time in transaction. From there, he can use a p2p. From his description, none of them looks familiar to be realistic.

I will not doubt your story because I have thought a lot of people about bitcoin and I have helped them set up their wallet also and I have also guided them to do their first purchase.
It is only people who have not done this kind of things that will find it difficult to believe your story, people who have done things like this will not actually doubt your story.

If you are the kind of person that teaches others about cryptocurrency or bitcoin, and encourage people to invest in bitcoin, or to include bitcoin transactions in their business you won’t say this story is a lie.

‎Well you did well to observe if it's true or not, my own concerns is promoting and creating awareness to anyone who's willing to be inform. Understanding the risks involved in it too.

That doesn't excuse you from making up stories that don't fit the actual reality in any way. The seller did not have a Bitcoin wallet? But, yes, you taught him. Are you serious? Is there an invasion of storytellers on the forum again? If the store accepts payment in bitcoins, then there will definitely be a competent person at the checkout who knows how sales are carried out. You made up a story, OP, and we can all guess why. Pretty useless or obsolete, there is no advantage in practical purpose. Anyway it's not a safety procedure, more something to scaramantic. 
I would completely avoid it.  I would not use any "arbitrary" limit, any satoshi is already a "large amount".
It would be enough double check the address/verify tx fees and "input" outputs of the transaction that's all.
If you would be safe you had to test the key that would receive the coin (at bests, if yours, just try to sign a message or load the key).

There's no such invasion, but it's proven to be another effective way to earn what OP needs to earn. So, aside from compilations, tutorials, reminders, realizations, and whatnot, there's also sharing of real-life stories and experiences. OP has made dozens so far after a year since he/she signed up.

I wish you luck, OP! Keep the determination and the perseverance. Farm what needs to be farmed. Improve the story-telling. Be more realistic with the facts next time. Before you know it, you can already wear an avatar and receive a better payment.

I am not going to buy this story OP, it makes no sense .

I wonder how long it took OP to cook up the story. No matter how small the amount is, no business owner will accept a new payment method because someone by chance referred it to them, it shows how easy it is to deceive such a person.

The story smells of lies from a distance, OP would have created the topic without using a fake story that never happened.

I agree that these are the lessons of the hypothetical story. When sending bitcoin, we need to be sure of the wallet address and being security cautious with your seed phrase.

However, your story has some questioning on it. If someone doesn't have bitcoin as mode of payment, it means they are not accepting it and maybe they don't understand it. So how would you convince a business person who has already made out portals of payment to change their mind at the point of receiving payment? A typical business person will tell you to conclude the business first by making payment to the assigned payment portal and afterwards, they may or may not listen to your new payment innovation. But you did a great work to convince the person and successfully made payment through it while she was patient with you.

I was so delighted about this experience because I was able to teach people  about cryptocurrency, immediately she was also educating  others as well.

I find it so hard to believe that you spent 4 hours just to convince someone to accept Bitcoin. Isn't that more of a burden on yourself, spending hours to convince someone to take Bitcoin, compared to just cashing out your Bitcoin and transferring it to their bank? And then what? You didn't tell them how to cash it out to their bank? If they're a seller, they should cash it out quickly because they also need money for their business. Don't tell me he just left it like that. Running a business is already challenging enough these days, and leaving your money just like that is hard to believe.

I'm curious about the fact that for the first time you are about to make payments in this shop, you requested to pay with bitcoin despite the fact that the owner of the shop does not receive payment in Bitcoin, we all know that bitcoin takes a lot of time for you to understand the techniques when it involves sending and receiving it, it is not something you do at once for a beginner or somebody that does not have a bitcoin knowledge.

 however if you also consider the fact that the person would have to learn other aspects of crypto activities in a bit to convert her bitcoin to either usdt or any other cryptocurrency which I believe you didn't teach her at that moment too.

my point is that, it was too hasty for you to suddenly send her Bitcoin in such a short notice of you guys knowing each other, at least including something you would have told that previously then you came that day to engage her on it.

We don't go on to a randome store and buy things and say where is your bitcoin address or QR code because I want to pay via bitcoin....Isn't it?
