While discussing amount friends, one among us who is always updated (up to the minute) on fundamentals and economic news made a statement that "a whale who has never been wrong just placed a long on BTC and ETH" apparently, this billionaire has never been wrong in all the times my friend has been watching his trades.

This made me wonder, is there such a thing as a trader who has never been wrong? Does that even exist? Is this a form of insider trading or are certain persons so rich that they get access to tools and information that the general public aren't privileged to?

Mistakes are part of the learning process towards superior performance and efficiency. It's unlikely someone reaches the status of whale without never committing mistakes along the process.

And since internet is more about looking than about being, it's quite possible to erase the failures and highlight only the success achieved towards the audience.

Or, thinking from a more conservative approach in investments universe, someone taking low risks and profiting low rates over huge amounts of money is less likely to lose money. No, it’s impossible. Otherwise, a single whale could empty the exchange by leveraging. If a person even with a small amount of funds and all the trades become successful, then he would take all the money from the market slowly. Whales have a big money; they will place bets together and pull money from the market.

A person won’t always be lucky for the perfect trade. Unless the source of the data is a trusted source, then at least I won’t believe it. Trading is risky; there will always be risk. Those who have been selling trading signals—I don’t trust them. They might share some analysis and sometimes become true, but that doesn’t mean I have to buy a signal from there.

This thing doesn't apply to every single whale trader in the market. Some whales in the crypto market get insider news from one or multiple sources. I know there are many whales that do their research and even take big risks while trading with the big capital where we know that fact that how big you capital will be the same way your loss will also be bigger. Similarly, trading with small capital means small losses.

We don't need to go here or there to find a perfect example of this. How do you think Trump tripled his net worth since the day he became the president of the United States, this time again?

He used crypto and the stock market and manipulated them in every possible way, sometimes in the form of a tariff war and sometimes in the form of escalating tension in the Middle East and in the Strait of Hormuz. These are the very few examples I am sharing here of how he used to manipulate the crypto and stock market to make money. The core meaning of saying is that big money has big connections which somehow help them to suck money of small hands of the crypto and stock market. What do you think? CMIIW!

And so with this whale, they might have not done wrong yet but soon he will.

I have heard of insider trading or information but that is in a controlled commodity and like trading forex because the government is directly involved with different policies. But talking about cryptocurrency, I don't know who is going to divulge information. It is not a controlled market so I'm not really sure of insider information. However, you can see what is happening in the market through whale's wallet and blockchain, probably decision can be made from that using the orders made from the wallet.

What I think is that whales make wrong trade but the reason that they usually succeed is because traders follow their call and that pushes price to their direction. Price is about demand and if there is alot of demand for buy, price will automatically start going up. I think that is how it works because whale have the big money and their order create some kind of sentiment and FOMO in the market then orders will follow from the direction of whale.

It can never be wrong? I don’t think there are such traders existing. Maybe he’s just one of those traders that have a more winning rate than loss, let’s say 90% winning rate and 10% loss in all of his trades taken of most recent since your friend got to know about him. Trading can be very difficult and at the same time not what can be conducted with much certainty. If he will have that winning rate for this long, he may also have an insider information that’s helping him because the losses will also come in between the wins no matter how little.

Who says a whale is never wrong to take a long position in their trade, has told them many millions of dollars in losses, no one is perfect, a whale even if they have Insiders will definitely experience much greater losses only they often hide it.

The more you trade, the probability of no losses over time goes to zero. Don't be fooled by sales pitch or people trying to get you to follow/copytrade.

All the trades that was shared that you said he was never wrong, are they on DEX? If it's on centralized exchanges, please disregard anything they share. Most of these people only share the trades they make money and hide the ones they make loss, there is nobody in this market that is immune to loss or that has never made wrong decisions before. If he claim that he has not make wrong move, he is lying and not just that, he might even be a scammer. Only a scammer is capable of saying things like this.

If you really want to know traders that are good in this game, you should follow the ones on Dex, they don't even need to talk to the public about their trade, there are traders that follow other traders and watch what they trade and their position size. This should never be a signal, just because they open a million worth of trade doesn't mean they are right, be very mindful of public opened positions.

It can never be wrong? I don’t think there are such traders existing. I don't think anyone even professional traders get so lucky all the time. Even gurus like Paul Tudor or George Soros, still encountered losses at some point as far as the market is concerned.
So my best advice is that when following these whale traders, never blindly copy them because it might just be that the market is at the peak and that's when smart money is selling.
That's when insider trading information is changing hands and money is moving while the retail investors who try to copy them get lost in limbo.

No, it's not possible for a trader to never be wrong, but there is a possibility of one to make the wrong right if they have enough funds lying around to switch things up for them when they are doing futures trading, because you will get liquidated only if your margin balance dries up, but if you have enough funds in it that even if the market takes a big swing and then takes a reversal, your trade might still not get liquidated if you haven't used very high leverage. Whales know very well how they can use their funds and how they can get the best out of the market.

What do you actually mean by "insider trading"? You make it sound like there is a group of people who control the market, so they know exactly where the market will go next and they can give hints to whales in return for some money and then whales make money from their hints or signals. I don't know why I say almost everything online as contents and if there's one thing I've learnt is never to pressure myself over what I see online especially about the lifestyle most of these people put on for their viewers to believe.
People wouldn't want to put out their pains for others to see because they fear they might be mocked and that's why people will always show you the sweet parts and since I'm not a newbie in trading, I already know and understands how the market works so I'm not bothered with what put what do and say online.

Exactly and this was what actually first came through my mind when I was reading the op that well, it might be possible for someone to trade with let's say $10000 on a least leverage and easily make $100 daily and for such a type of trade, it would still count to say that such trader haven't made losses since the probability of profit over loss would be 90:10

It is true that we do not have access to special tools that only big players and whales have access to, but I don't think they ever experience being wrong, for me does not exist. I believe they also experience some mistakes.

A whale won't work in a single person; I believe they have a team, group, or organization that works with a plan. They can also create FOMO or things that can change people's minds to sell or to buy. Remember, they work as a team just to make a profitable trading plan. They also try manipulating some news, spreading FUDs, and manipulating prices to trap retail traders.
That's why they take it; they've never been wrong because they can spread something that can change traders' decisions that can help the market favorably for their decisions.

That is why I only trade on a trending market and only follow them because if you are against them, expect a negative result.

I have heard same thing too from few people but I have never witnessed it from any trader that I am following, if you can ask your friend to tell you the name of this trader since they have been following the person for a long time, that will help some traders here to do their observation and verify whether your friend is saying the truth or not. As far as I know, no trader can take 10 trades straight up without losing 1 or 2, no trader can trade for a whole month or year without losing a single trade,  the probability of that is very low because price does not respect a traders edge or strategy all the time. At time you could see that you setup is intact but the moment you enter the trade, you will end up losing.

Having access to better trading tools and information is not really going to stop a trader from experiencing losses at times but it will only help the person to have more winning trades than losses.
