If they use IP address to get this data, what about people from India that use Canada or US IP address to gamble? If they get this data based on how many phones downloaded a casino app what about people that deleted right after?
What I am saying is it's impossible to get the accurate data this way, it's so impossible, because some people are from a country where there is restrictions on their country, people over there have to connect via VPN to keep gambling.
This data is based on assumptions of IP and apps downloaded, which makes it not so accurate, but it's still fairly good job, I am surprised by the second country on the list, I don't get many addiction story from that part of the world.

I think there is a distinction to be made between gambling activity and gambling addiction. Whilst the data will show accurately where people are gambling online the most, there are various factors that can influence the results such as the use of VPNs and deleting apps, as you said. People could also be gambling on websites rather than apps. This ranking should be seen as a general indicator of gambling activity online. A more interesting question would be whether these countries also have a higher rate of gambling related debts and addictions.

1.I don't know if this data is verified. Such information should be "taken with a grain of salt". There might be some inaccuracies here and there. 2.I was expecting the top of the list to be dominated by underdeveloped countries from Asia, Africa and Latin America. It seems weird that countries such as Norway, Greece, New Zealand and the United Kingdom are ranked so high on that list. Austria and Australia are above Nigeria. This is hilarious. My country is ranked pretty low on the list, which also seems weird, because everyone around here is complaining about the rapid growth of gambling apps/casinos/bookmaker platforms and the growth of gambling addiction.

The data may not be 100% accurate, but it can definitely provide an overview of the current development of online gambling. In countries that legalize gambling, there is a possibility that gamblers enjoy land-based casinos more than online casinos. Meanwhile, in countries that prohibit gambling, there is a possibility that gamblers access gambling sites using a VPN, which may be mistakenly detected as coming from an IP of another country.

Thanks to Visual Capitalist, there are some interesting statistics. I was surprised to see Norway so high on the list. Sweden, for example, is very far from it on the list, although geographically they are close. I also didn't know that the British visit online casinos so often. But South Korea, which is often known for its love of risk in trading, ended up at the very bottom of the list. What do you think? Did you expect to see your country ranked where it is? ~ Without more detailed information, I consider these statistics to be garbage. For example, I use a VPN (without a VPN, using the outside internet in my country is practically impossible) and I'm used to accessing gambling sites through Norway because this country is practically not banned anywhere (by casinos), while other European countries have a lot of restrictions. It’s quite possible that I’m boosting the statistics for Norway in this way. If your infographic is to be believed, gambling is practically unpopular in my country, ranking among the lowest at just 7%, but the reality I observe is the complete opposite.

I don't understand why Japan is so low on the list. They're famous for their love of gambling. True, it's physically prohibited there. But they play some unusual slot machines, and it's hard to figure out: are they considered gambling or not? Probably yes, because you can exchange your winnings for real money in a semi-legal way. So, while these statistics are extremely interesting, there must be a lot of caveats regarding certain countries. Hmm... is it just me, or do all the people who live on the islands love gambling? If I remember correctly, gambling is even allowed in Australia.
I believe this statistics is based on the available information gotten from the Internet, there could be some level of reality in this information, however there is every possibility that the exact population of gamblers in every country might not be provided. To those countries that gambling are prohibited, some persons still gamble using offshore gambling casinos or making the use of VPN, and this case, their real nationality might not be identified. So I believe this could be the case of the Japanese since they are prohibited from physical gambling, there could also be some kind of inappriopracy in the cause of gathering this information.

I asked AI to group the countries on that chart based on whether gambling is legal or not in those countries. I am surprised that only 3 countries on that chart that treat gambling as illegal thing. I also think that data is inaccurate because I can't see Indonesia on that chart. Indonesia is a money printer for illegal casinos in Southeast Asia.
Illegal: Thailand, India, Vietnam.
Legal: Norway, Greece, New Zealand, Ghana, Hungary, United Kingdom, Austria, Nigeria, Kenya, Portugal, Croatia, Ireland, Serbia, Belgium, Colombia, Denmark, Romania, Mexico, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Philippines, Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Czechia.
Partially legal: South Africa, Brazil, Australia, Chile, Hong Kong, Canada, Germany, France, Argentina, Turkey, Singapore, United States, Japan, Morocco, Russia, Israel, Taiwan, South Korea.

~ What do you think? Did you expect to see your country ranked where it is?
I'm surprised by these numbers, to be honest. 7.8% worldwide? It can't be. I think at least 20% of people aged 16+ gamble regularly worldwide. And I'd multiply all numbers in the chart by 3 to see a picture that I expect. But I'm inclined to think that I was wrong, that the chart created by Visual Capitalist is representing the reality, that actually less people gamble than I thought. Btw, my country is not in the list. From what I can see around me, the number should be at least around 10%, which would place Ukraine near Czechia and Italy, but that's my personal view of things. Of course, if Visual Capitalist created the chart based on real research, their results are closer to reality. Really? It is far more people than I thought it would be. I thought gambling was something that a fraction of the world does, not such a high number. I thought that we would see something like %1 or something, because gambling is not something everyone does. For example, in the online world, I see a ton of people gambling because I am in that world; we are here on gambling, for example, but real life? I do not know a single person who gambles regularly. Doesn't mean they never gamble; they have, like in the past, and they may again one day, like here and there, a few times a year maybe, but regularly? I do not know a SINGLE person who gambles every single day. That is the reason why we should see a lower number than that, at least for me, but I guess both you and I were wrong about it.

Partly all the questionnaires and statistics in the internet can be garbage, because respondents are anonymous in majority, people tend to lie or mask behind things as VPN. What shows that statistics might be a lie is how countries with low population (internet users) outrun in top countries with higher population. Also attention should be paid to not everyone, every site/provider share data for statistics. Shown chart has too much controversies. How can India with almost 800 million internet users or 1.5 billion population, where gambling is legal and popular be that low in chart? That is impossible.

But South Korea, which is often known for its love of risk in trading, ended up at the very bottom of the list. What do you think? Did you expect to see your country ranked where it is? Fortunately for my country, it is within the position i have expected of it, because i have seen very randomly how prevalent the usage of online casino has been in the country, you could be walking on the road and see a random person highly engrossed in their phone trying to place a bet using an online casino, and all round, on the streets and almost every advert signage, you can spot one casino Advert out of every three you can find around, it is that prevalent, so i wasn't really surprised to see them at the position i saw them, i was even expecting they will be up above even. Online casinos make good amount of money form my country because it is a third world country and still trying to develop, so some persons in the bid to make ends meet, they result to trying out casinos along side their menial jobs and other sources of income in the hope that they will eventually get lucky, this has also influenced the surge that the usage of online casinos has gotten in my country.

I don't have the tools to prove the opposite of this list (I'm not convinced) the data I don't think is correct. I've searched for detailed information and too many inconsistencies emerge. I've attached a link where it discusses them in detail: https://wild.io/it/academy/articles/gambling-statistics#dimensione-del-mercato-globale-del-gioco-dazzardo(use the translator from the browser if necessary) the study also specifies cryptocurrency expenditures in gambling. Another site that once again has inconsistencies with the search: https://quitgamble.com/it/statistiche-e-fatti-sulla-dipendenza-dal-gioco-dazzardo/(always use the translator) It seems too strange to me for Norway, the Philippines, and Italy that they are in the wrong places in that ranking, but again, I don't have the tools to prove otherwise, but reading on different platforms that deal with the topic, it seems like everyone has their own ranking, I don't find any consistent points.

This list doesn't tell the full story . I expect to see my country above where it ranks. You should have shared the source link. My country actually ranked in the top 10 on another site. South Africans are battling gambling addiction. The lawmakers have taken responsibility to enact laws that will reduce gambling in the country.

What do you think? Did you expect to see your country ranked where it is?
My country isn't even on that list. I think these statistics are pretty wrong because how could Norway be ranked second, and the United States be below it? That doesn't make much sense considering their population numbers. Also, I have no idea how they managed to verify the data and immediately come to a conclusion --- when making statistics like this actually requires proper methodology and can't just be done randomly. So I think these statistics feel more like 'trust me bro' than real statistics carried out by experts.

Well, I’m not surprised to see South Africa at the top of the list just a couple of days ago. We had a conversation about the gambling rat in South Africa and how the government is yet to act on that. So this pretty much some of the whole conversation from all the time if the government doesn’t do what they should do then South Africa is going to be number one on that list for a while. It’s also interesting to see Nigeria very close to the top and I’m not surprised because the rate of gambling it’s increasing I mean everywhere you go there’s always almost a gambling ad, a bet shop on every street corner so Nigeria is almost heading towards the path. South Africa is on if nothing is done.
