Is Using AI for Replies Allowed?

Hi all,

I made an account on Altcointalk, 2 months ago and someone suggested me to shift here, and I am looking for some guidance from those with more experience here.

Lately I have been using AI to get input when I am replying to posts here. I just use it to get a better understanding of the topic, and other times I just want to get some ideas and inspiration on what I could say, and then write up my own post afterwards.

Recently I received feedback on few of my posts stating that they are AI-generated here, but these posts are also not clearly saying that these are AI generated even one post is clearly saying that is AI assisted.I know that AI generated posts are not allowed which are clearly copy pasted, but I want to know what's the policy on using it to get inspiration, or to get a better understanding of something, before writing my post myself? ( I asked this question in that thread but no one answered me, so I decided to post it here)

I am not trying to find a workaround, if using AI to get ideas or uggestions is not allowed then I do not want to continue doing that. Just trying to understand where the line is here. If anyone could point me in the direction of the applicable forum rules, or let me know how this is typically dealt with, I would really appreciate it.

Above is the rule concerning Ai, the use of Ai to assist you in replies should be occasional but it is obvious that you keep using it frequently than you should. Using Ai for assistance will leave you explaining that you only using it to get idea but the truth is that it is easy for you to just post almost the same thing the Ai sent to you. Do research yourself, reply on post you have an original Idea of not Ai assisted.
Finally using Ai post and changing some stuff doesn't make it your idea, learn to understand the difference between using Ai to create and idea from changing things from an Ai .

I am not sure whether rules apply if you used AI as a source of information or suggestions and then came up with your own response based on that information or suggestion. I just wanted to know how the rules apply in that case.

I am not trying to say that just by using AI and then changing a few words makes it your own idea (I do not do like that). I agree that it would not be. Just trying to figure out where the line is for the rules of the forum when using AI.

Thanks... I understand them better now, and it seems that using AI for ideas and suggestions is allowed as long as I follow the guidelines.

I will not lock thread just yet. I will wait for few more replies, maybe I get more clarification to understand rules better.

Oh dear, if I were simply copying and pasting AI-generated content, would not most of my posts be flagged as AI-generated? I am not denying that I use AI for assistance, but that does not mean I am copying its responses directly into my posts.

It's clear that you are not just using AI to get ideas but also coping some words and adding you own words to mix it up as if it's your own idea. You can use AI to understand a topic and write in your own words based on what you understand and possibly add more to show your understanding. I checked the link and it says AI 100% mixed. That guy who caught you and brought it up in that thread is a genius when it comes to Ai generated posts.

So, I'd advice you to stop it and write from your head if you want to grow in this forum. This isn't altcoinstalks. We have more smart brains here compared to the other side because Satoshi himself created this forum and majority of members in altcoinstalks are from this forum. If you use Ai state it in your post that it was AI you used.

The amount of newbies we’re seeing recently who are trying to give the impression of being polymaths, all of them using AI, supposedly only to polish their writing, is something very out of the ordinary. It is too soon for me to say whether you are somebody’s alt account, but what I will say is that you remind me of other Pakistani users who were using AI in similar ways and then got very defensive when called out.

The AI guidelines have already been pointed out for you. They are clear enough about what is and isn’t allowed. If your posts aren’t getting frequently deleted and you haven’t been signature banned, then moderators have not made the determination that you have gone far enough to deserve such actions, although there might still be enough reasons for suspicion.

You don't have to reply to every thread that you find on the forum. the reason why you are using AI as an aid that helps you give a suitable reply to some topics is basically because you don't have the right idea about the topic. if you had the right idea about the topic, you would use your brain in giving an organic response to it.

The main reason why the forum frowns at AI written content is because it takes out the human experience out of any generated response you give. if you are doing research on key subject maters, you can use AI as an aid but if you are writing through it and using it to respond to every thread you see, then there is no need for the existence of human on the forum, bots should have been allowed to take care of the forum needs. you must not be too perfect in engaging in the forum discussion and that is why there are others that are available to give their own insight on same subject matter from an human perspective.

Thanks to everyone who shared the guidelines and gave their opinions. I was hoping to get some further clarification on the rules, but the discussion seems to be turning into personal criticism other than focusing on my original question so its a bit disappointing.

Anyway, I have better understanding of the guidelines now. I think I will lock the thread here.
