If you have just one source of income, it is very possible to be rich and have money but that is not what i would call financial freedom, because imagine if you lose the job today, then your source of income is gone, so we cannot call that financial. If you truly want that financial freedom then you must have multiple sources of income and none of them should be dependent on the other, so something happens one, it doesnt affect the rest of your income sources.
It is the same with running a business that has paying client, if your business model is such that it relies on just one customer or a few paying customer then i can safely say your business is at great risk because if months go by and for any reason your regular customers cannot patronise you, then that means your business is in trouble or it means you have to start soruicng other paying customer to survive, So why not just model the business in such a way that it opens rooms for multiple paying customers. You simply cannot rely on one source of income to sustain your business.

Sometimes one solid business is enough to build huge wealth for you except you want to open another branch for same business and it is not even a guarantee that it will be successful because the location of the business might become a barrier to its growth. Growing wealth in a business is not about diversifying to different businesses because you can still diversify and all of them fail at once. I have known a man who own one business for over 20 years and he has diversified to several business that failed but that one business was able to elevate him and his family. You can't depend on one source of income as well as investment, they all have a point of failure. I was looking an Nike company shares, some years ago it was one of the best perming investment but looking at the chart looks messy and regret. How mighty the charts looks is that during the Corona market plunge, it didn't dump but within the space of 2021 and now, it's has collapsed. There are share holders somwhere now filling devastated with the collapse.

However, yiu should only diversify your investment if you have the means, if you don't have means to do it, don't force it. Wow! I love this bolded part of your statement so much, and that's the truth. We don't need to quit working before we can say we are have attained financial freedom, not at all. Infact, for me, it even seems foolish that someone stops working or doing something creative to put money into his pocket when he still has the strength to do so just because he has made money.  You may no longer be actively involved, but you must keep doing something and let the money keep coming.

What about Elon musk, Bil Gates and some others, do we say they have not attained financial freedom with the kind of wealth they have amased?, yet, they are still doing it, making more money.

So long as you can dress your own way, afford the kind of lifestyle you ever want, have business or investments that gives you money even in your absence, I will term you a financially free person. If your money can handle any kind of financial needs that may arise, then you are financially free.
