Presidential election merit giveaway thread

I have been noticing too many threads about 2027 presidential election. It would be a better if we bring the discussion into a single thread, and which is the purpose of this thread.

You can also use this to discuss about National Assembly (both Senates and House of Rep).
Discussing about gubernatorial and state house of assembly election are also welcome.

But what connected all of us together here is the presidential election.

However I didn't see a clear description of the "merit giveaway" added to the title or what qualifies anyone for the merits.

I will focus the merit giveaway on people that are posting what that supposed to have been created as topic on this thread. Example is the link that I posted above when INEC released the lists of the presidential candidates.

Also anyone that posted something convincing and having good quality can also be awarded the merits.

People should not focus on the merit giveaway, they should focus on posting something that is very relevant.

This is a good idea mate, but honestly, some people will post about the upcoming election in their own threads just to be seen, so it might be hard to keep all upcoming election discussions in one place. But nothing is impossible; probably any discussion that's based on the presidential election outside this will either be deleted or locked immediately.

I will focus the merit giveaway on people that are posting what that supposed to have been created as topic on this thread. Example is the link that I posted above when INEC relase the list of the presidential candidates.

Alright, if that's the case, then there will definitely be an adjustment on how people create threads.

This is nice. Before I go ahead presenting my candidate and how to win you guys to vote for him, I want to clear something first. Let's answer this question, should be candidate be judge by their promises or what they have actually done that is visible to the eyes. Someone can say they have done something and nothing can be presented.

Over the years, we can seen what some candidates have done. If you haven't, you can search about the impact of each candidate before replying me.

Now the naming of my candidate. Peter Obi, you can search what he has done and everything about him online. Not some other candidate who have criminal background behind them. The name I shall not mention. Let's all vote for good people this coming election. People that have it's citizens at heart.

One of the aspects that worry me so much about the forth coming presidential election is our inability to have a fully electronic elections that everyone can see and follow up with the vote casting and counting.

This could have solved a lot of things like post election trabunal that is another avenue that eat a lot of money from government accounts.

The president and National election is very close and this thread is going to serve a lot of purpose for information and updates on political events on natural basis because I am not a partisant person so I don't have a candidate that I openly support or political parties.

It’s a bad idea especially at this current state of the internet if there’s no proper plan and rigid structure for it.. and in a country like Nigeria, I don’t think that will happen anytime soon. We have a lot of skilled engineers that can build such but trust me it won’t work.

Apart from using as a means to embezzle money.. if truly it’s going to serve in a fair way , they will all go against it, only few will support it because our elections as never be fair and it’s obvious or you don’t know of it? .

With the introduction of Bivas in the last election, we thought it would eliminate manipulation of election results and ensure authentic results as it will transmitt election results to INEC result viewing portal but that didn't happen, so I don't think the AI integrations is a game changer that's going to help election results become more authentic. I see the AI integrations as what INEC wants to use and deceive Nigerians into believing they are going to conduct free and fair election in order for them to have their way and manipulate election results.

Welcomed idea. That is very thoughtful of you mate for coming up with such a nice innovative. However, for some time now we have been experiencing several topics stressing about next the year general election and it's becoming so scattered and it didn't make sense that way. Perhaps this new system can bring everything together to be more compilable and to be well organized.

As we get to the election season, I know that many topics will be springing up about this, it's good you are trying to unify it before the time.

This election is among three main constetants: Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, Bola Tinubu, just like the 2023 presidential election. I don't know for anybody, I am voting for the NDC presidential candidate, the person of Peter Obi, while Atiku Abubakar is the first runner-up in my book. Fortunately, I don't have a third consideration.

Yesterday, did you guys hear about what happened in Enugu state, where the governor, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah sent military and others to prevent Peter Obi campaign venue? Thanks to the people of Enugu who mobilised to the scene and chase them away.
They thought it was before. I do know the kind of politics we play in Nigeria.

Perfect initiative, Charles-Tim, at least this way solve the problem of having repeated threads on a similar discussion across the board.

Now, back to political affairs, Nigeria's kind of politics is so different from the way other countries play theirs, and this is why you must understand the system before you go into it. Maybe another reason why we could not achieve a lot over the years is that those who are in the system are still the ones going back into the same system, but in different portfolios.

The 2027 presidential election is going to be interesting because we already know the outcome without wasting much of our time; the present government is still going back into office, and I don't see any opposition that can stand their force. You can argue this, but that is the actual fact once it comes to the Nigerian currency situation with the election ahead.

But is it not possible to break this? Very possible if all the opposition parties, or the majority of them, could come together. Atiku is not playing a mature political game in this regard; if he could join hands with Peter Obi, along with other key northern leaders, they are likely to emerge as a strong opposition that could confront the present administration and be a threat.

Let's see how so many people will be more interested on receiving one Congo of rice and one Congo of Garri to vote their conscience out again the way they used to do, it is very sure that the suffering of 4 years is nothing to play with except we adopt a change of mentality to how we operate the election and vote right.

I saw a very interesting remark from the NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi about his decision to deal with those that rig elections in the upcoming 2027 election. Peter Obi gave this warning during his town hall meeting with his supporters at Nassarawa when asked about his plans towards those that rig elections.

Peter Obi noted that those that rig elections will be rigged come next year. This has a lot to do with the confidence for a possible free and fair element during the next year. If voters have the assurance that their votes will count, it will go a long way to influence the number of voters turnout during the election day.

2. If the election gets rigged, do you think Peter Obi truly knows what to do in that case?

Unfortunately the Presidential election has been conducted and won already, whatever it is we are all doing is to analyze the situation, the template for rigging has been arranged by the umpire, so there is little our debate and pondering can do. I like the idea of discussing the issues of election on one thread, because the duplication of election matters of different threads is unnecessary. However I would like to tell people ahead of time that, the election has been won already, INEC has already dropped buckets  for people to lament and cry as usual, when we are ready, we will conduct elections, but for now, let the deceiving continue.

He meant those that they use as their instrument will be dealt with, there's no way the mastermind behind those rigs will be dealt with, they've always get away with it for so many years and it is still same set of people that had been there since 2000. I doubt anything will really change.

The highest we can expect is candidates guarding their district heavily, that won't change much either .

I'm not saying people shouldn't go out to vote, who knows if the vote may count more than what they are going to rig.

I don't think this time around it is going to be just as you have said. The reason why it will be tough this time around is that the opposition and Nigerians have already learned from the past, and they know what the current government is up to and the role INEC plays in the past election. So they know how to protect their vote because now the opposition knows they can't get their mandate from the judiciary, so they will try all they can to monitor the election rather than just at the collation centers. If you really observe the ruling parties, you would know they are scared because people are ready for them.

In the last election, voters only counted their results and they never knew the result would be tampered with when it leaves the polling unit. Nigerians are ready to do vigil for days to monitor and protect their votes.

The only thing I think the government may succeed in doing is to intimidate voters with the military and police, but if the government is planning to use thugs to disorganize the election this time, it won't work. I think this will be the toughest election, whether the current government wins or not.

The thing is that I really don't want to argue too much about the Nigerian election because it is pointless, what you wrote is exactly what people wrote during the 2023 election, they all said they are going to keep vigil and monitor their votes until it till gets to the collision center and the rest of it, but then INEC were still able to do their manipulation, the result for the presidential election were specifically not transmitted from pulling unit, if they decide to pull that stunt this time around again, there is nothing we both can do, today you can see through the INEC register that AI images are there with additional amount of numbers that were added to inflate numbers at strategy locations, bro let's just go home and count our losses, the election has been won.

The politics in Nigeria is about to change, and that is exactly what I want because, if you do an analysis, the vote should be about who is going to change the country, and it has to stop being about tribe and religion, and I love how the politics is going now. The chances of APC are also dropping because people are beginning to make their choices and if you should look at it the APC are doing everything in their power to gain back the people's trust and because of how hardship have been upon the people they have lost trust for them and most of the candidate know they wont win and the political battle as for me is going to be between obi, atiku and then bola and this is what makes it more interesting. The truth is, people are tired of APC because they have subjected the people to suffering. It seems Atiku is going to gain more chances, the way things are looking.
