Well, as harsh as it may sound, casinos are businesses, and any business would always make sure that they have rules which gives them as many benefits as possible in case of a dispute or anything. Some businesses might not do it, but most of them do, like you won't get a refund if you don't submit a proof of unboxing of an item you ordered but was delivered broken, etc. These are all rules created by businesses to make sure customers get the least options to win in a dispute and they can walk away freely without facing any consequences.

When it comes to casinos and sportsbooks, they would obviously do the same thing; create rules and terms that will mostly be beneficial for them and leaves customers with less options. As you mentioned, if a bettor wins a bet where the odds were wrong or increased mistakenly, they won't take any time reverting the results, but if the customer has lost the game but there was a problem, they might not return their funds unless the customer notices it themselves and demands for it, because they know that after a loss, no one would keep opening and looking at the old bets to see if there was a mistake from the oddsmaker.

Just the way some shop owners sell their goods at a lower price to attract customers that is simply the way some sportsbooks owners give big odds to games so as they can attract gamblers, and it is not a mistake that some sportsbooks give a game high odds while some sportsbooks give the same game small odds. I have not had the experience of my game being void because it was given wrong odds but my game has been void and the odds of the game was removed from my bet, and the reason why the game was voided was because it was postponed.

Bookmakers and casinos always take advantage of gamblers because they're in charge. Any error that happened from wrong odd number should be on the casino and not on the winner because if an error males you to lose big, they wouldn't refund you back your funds but keep it a secret and they'll be happy.

I don't like it when only the gambler take full responsibility of any error from the casino. It's unfair and a cheat on the gambler.

I don't think this is an advantage, it's the privilege of accepting to the terms of the casino. You greed to use the casino and that means you have accepted what comes from the casino which is just this palpable errors. The casino has the right to make adjustments where there is an error and you have to accept it the way it's and they also have the right to reject your mistakes. This is why they say the house hedge always win, the gamblers are the lossers.

It's not as if this kind of mistake is common, they are rare but if you eventually get affected by one, be ready to accept your fate that is how casino work. There are even worse mistakes that are worse than the ones and you don't have choice but to accept them as far as gambling is concerned.

One thing I believe people often pay little to no attention to is what a voided bet really does to your accumulator. As well as how different sportsbook handle voided games. Some still allow you to win the game if one voided, but they’ll simply just cancel the voided game, reduce the odds and give you a much lower payout, while others would simply void the entire game. And honestly I learned this the hard way, because I knew from previous experience that it was only the postponed game that gets voided, but the moment my whole slip got voided due to one suspended game in another casino though, I got enraged, flipped through their terms and found it was actually  thing in that casino.

I have been betting on cryptocurrency sportsbooks for quite a number of years now and I have never experienced 1 issue with a bet being voided or a payout not being honored. I think a good number of users that do experience this are players who are not exactly betting legitimately.

I place normal bets on normal sports and face 0 issues, but I see all sorts of scam accusations on different books for many different reasons.

Anyways, sportsbooks aren't exactly the fairest in some situations. If they can void a bet, you best believe they will. They are looking at the bottom line long run. Mind you it does usually have to be a somewhat legitimate reason but if they do void a bet they will hide behind a clause in their Tos and there isn't much arguing with them.

If a bettor enters the wrong stake or clicks the wrong team by mistake, customer support will simply tell you: "All bets are final once confirmed."

Yet many sportsbooks reserve the right to cancel bets even after the event has finished if they claim the odds were incorrect.

Have you ever had a settled, winning bet cancelled retroactively under this rule?

I fortunately have never had a winning bet cancelled because of this rule, but the contrary happened to me a couple of times, and I got my money back in bets I would've lost otherwise.

They coincided with the last World Cup, certains sportsbook offered boosted odds that were too good to be true, and yet they didn't end in winnings. I'm not sure if they would have been cancelled if they had won, I suppose they would, in the same way, but the fact is that it happened the other way around and I got the money back for these bets. It's not ideal, the ideal would have been if they had done the calculations right from the beginning, but I find it fair that the rule applies to both their benefit and that of the players depending on the circumstances.

And more importantly, has anyone ever seen a bookmaker void a "palpable error" bet that ended up losing? Or does the mistake only get noticed when the player wins?

Have you ever had a settled, winning bet cancelled retroactively under this rule?
During the world cup that ended some months ago, I placed a bet on a market I can no longer remember right now, but I do remember the odds was above 50, I betted a good amount of money because I was kind of convinced the market would win, but unfortunately the game didn't go the way I thought it would, the team I hoped would win ended up losing and without checking my account on the sportsbook where the bet was placed, I concluded the money was gone.

Two days later, I returned to the same sportsbook with intentions of making a fresh deposit and placing another bet, I discovered I had exactly the same amount I used on that bet on my account, so I checked my betting history and discovered that the sportsbooks had canceled that bet with 50 odds due to incorrect odds.
Well, I cant say I wasn't happy, I was very happy and this made me believe in the sportsbook more because some other casinos would have simply taken the money since I lost the bet afterall.

Can you check when exactly it got canceled? I think they canceled it during the game, before the bookie knew the result. That's why you got your money back. I've had this happen a few times too, but not once has a bookie refunded a losing bet to me.

P.S. Just remembered a funny one. I put a bet on at huge odds - around 14 or so, and during the game I got a chance to hedge it, so I did. Turns out it was a “palpable error”: my winning bet got voided and I just lost the other one.

Reputation matters in this industry.
Well that’s it for big bookies, but how about the small bookies who don’t yet have enough liquidity, who still don’t have enough funds to pay certain accounts of wins, especially the huge and unexpected ones. I’ve seen cases like this before and it didn’t go down well, where the casino who happens to be new didn’t have the amount to pay a win and all they had was money to afford a good lawyer who actually helped them win the case. Not all casinos are the same, especially the new ones in business.

With such little odd difference, that is not a mistake but a odd difference from other betting site. If it is a mistake, that is the expected value bet that some bettors are looking for. If won, there is nothing the betting site can do. The odd difference from other bookies is very little and not what will affect the bookie in any way if it is a reputed bookie.

For me, this little difference in odds isn’t something that will affect any reputable bookie financially. If they make a mistake, they can create value bet that some bettors are looking for. Once a  bettor place a bet based on the odds that the bookie offers and eventually wins, they’re suppose to honor the bet.

That’s the risk that comes with betting business, a reputable bookie is suppose to handle such little differences without unnecessary problems.

Absolutely, in much as this looks very unfair to the bettors yet you must understand one thing, once you stake that bet you are automatically subject to the terms and conditions of that casino's rules because they are the moderators at the particular point in time.
Often times people complain about bets being cancelled unjustly due to system errors but nobody does anything about it. Though there's a lot to be done but it's just that the regulatory body incharge of stuffs like this aren't really doing their jobs so the only option left for the bettor incase of a major win is to sue the casino involved, some form of litigation could help resolve the matter.

they might not return their funds unless the customer notices it themselves and demands for it

Why should customer have to find and claim each of their old bets themself?
If any sportsbook can void any customer's winning bet due to its own error then it should be consistent by also voiding his losing bet caused by similar error and returning the stake.

However, not all high odds are wrong. Often any sportsbook may offer better price than other or intentionally provide promotional odd.
Therefore, the fact that odds were higher compared to rest of the market is not any sufficient reason to cancel that bet. In my opinion operator needs to be shown exactly what went wrong. Which odds were in effect at time bet was placed, and how same rule was applied to both winning and losing outcome. They may have right to correct their own mistake but this should not become any one sided advantage aimed solely at reducing liability.

I was reading through some sportsbook rules regarding "Palpable Errors" and something seems a bit unfair.

If a bettor enters the wrong stake or clicks the wrong team by mistake, customer support will simply tell you: "All bets are final once confirmed."

Yet many sportsbooks reserve the right to cancel bets even after the event has finished if they claim the odds were incorrect.

I understand if someone gets odds of 20.0 instead of 2.00. That's obviously a mistake.

But what happens when the odds are just slightly off the market — say 2.20 instead of 1.95? Different sportsbooks offer different odds all the time.

And more importantly, has anyone ever seen a bookmaker void a "palpable error" bet that ended up losing? Or does the mistake only get noticed when the player wins?

Have you ever had a settled, winning bet cancelled retroactively under this rule?

Really i understand very well that you are angry about this, even if the rules are unfair, it's their home and they decide what they want.
Sorry if I'm so direct and brutal, the only thing you can decide is that if you don't like the rules you can go away and play elsewhere.

Have you ever had a settled, winning bet cancelled retroactively under this rule?

If you carefully review the bookmakers' rules, you'll notice two identical events but different ways of handling them.
1. The player made a mistake: The bet is final and cannot be canceled. The money is already in the system. The bookmaker is not obligated to correct the customer's oversight, since you legally agreed to the terms of the offer the moment you clicked the button.
2. The bookmaker made a mistake: We have the right to cancel or recalculate the bet. Bookmakers include a clause in their rules regarding force majeure and technical glitches. They justify this by arguing that the player is attempting to use "knowingly false information" to gain an unfair advantage.

"Everything is fair"!

I think such legal proceedings drag on for a very long time because a gambling platform might employ highly skilled lawyers paid handsomely to win the case. The stakes are high, and the owners might simply calculate that while half of the disputed amount will go toward legal costs, the other half taken from the player will end up in their own pockets. Furthermore, they will argue that the player agreed to their terms and conditions, meaning that in any dispute, the platform is automatically in the right.

You're right, but the problem with sportsbooks is when a particular game is void the bookmakers use it an advantage to slash your potential winning just because the game has been postponed it happened to me just last weekend. And why i said they used as an advantage is because they odds that was given to the club by bookmakers was just 1.23, they used the odd and slash the money into 3 parts and gave me on part, a odds that's not up to 2 odds and this is not the first time I'm experiencing such thing.

I have not heard that a casino voided a game due to errors in the odds. There are other reasons that a game can be voided bit not on the grounds of odds.I don't think that a Casino can even make such a mistake when it comes to giving of odds to teams involved. There are computers that are used in determining the odds of s team based on current form and performance. And even if assuming that such a mistake even occur in their system when it comes to odds placement . It not the duty of the gambler to get worried because the so called error is from the Casino and not the user.

The only time that a casino can void a game is when the, Casino finds out that the gambler is not following the rules and regulations set out by the Casino and so goes against the casinos rules and regulations.

This is something that I have experienced many times, the first time it happened I was quite surprised by the bookmaker’s decision. This was a match I had watched from start to finish and it ended as a predicted it, so finding out that the bet has been void was something I found both confusing and frustrating. So, to answer your question, op. Bookmakers can void a winning bet after the match is over.

There are quite a few instances where a bet has been voided because suspicious elements were detected whether due to suspected fraud or the exploitation of inefficiencies. While this can be interpreted in various ways, the outcome is almost always the same and rarely a pleasant one for the player involved. Such cases do occur, though they are relatively rare, furthermore, posts from players sharing their actual experiences can easily get lost in the sheer volume of content from other users. Many people also tend to assume that a player might simply be struggling with a gambling addiction and has fabricated the story in a desperate attempt to recover some of their lost funds since most are familiar with the typical behavior of those with a gambling problem though, of course, it is often difficult to discern the actual truth.

The casino has the right to make adjustments where there is an error and you have to accept it the way it's and they also have the right to reject your mistakes. This is why they say the house hedge always win, the gamblers are the lossers.

I agree that any sportsbook should have right to make correction. However, I do not think that agreeing to terms when opening account implies that we must accept every decision made by operator without question. Who will decide whether the odds were actually incorrect? And will they themself also decide whether remedy the operator has chosen is reasonable or not?

Suppose that in a market, odds were 2.00, but they were mistakenly displayed as 20.00.
This could be an obvious error. But if odds were 2.20 instead of 2.10, would you still call that an obvious error as well?
Therefore, sportsbook should provide evidence of error. Applying rules selectively based on outcome of any bet would not be fair. And customer must also be given opportunity to appeal.
