I don’t think quantum fears are even the big fears at the moment. There are several proposed solutions to the quantum problem already being debated and I think the network will be upgraded before it is a major issue. Super intelligence is cracking all sorts of encryptions right now though. I think that is where people’s current fear resides.

Will quantum fear reduce institutional investors?
Investors are always mindful of where they invest their money. The quantum threat has been a major security issue not just in the crypto sector but in all fields. I don't think it is reducing investors in the banking, telecom, health, and military industries. This is because different sectors are already developing measures to shield themselves against this threat. The Bitcoin sector is not an exception, as there are several ways to avoid these threats. My conclusion is that this threat might have an insignificant effect on institutional investors since there are already available means of overcoming these threats. I stand with OgNasty's position that the most dreadful threat currently is artificial intelligence. And it is not only the crypto industry that is suffering from AI attacks.

Will quantum fear reduce institutional investors?
I’m already entertaining the idea that it actually does for people that are staying updated on the development of quantum computers. For the most part, a lot of persons might not seem to care because, it’s an imaginary reality which extends far into an unknown future. That being the case, many can go about purchasing Bitcoin for its present day gains but, might not want to keep it in an era when quantum computers becomes common without an equal development in the cryptocurrency space to resist or add layers of difficulty to it’s network.

Will quantum fear reduce institutional investors?
I think he's wrong on the ceiling part. He didn't really give a figure. But BlackRock clearly stated quantum risk in the IBIT prospectus in May 2025. So institutions have known this for a while. The interesting part was the Glassnode data in May which stated there were 6M BTC with public keys exposed. A large chunk of this (4M) is due to address reuse etc. This can easily be solved by custodians by ceasing to reuse addresses and moving the coins. The tricky part is older P2PK coins and Taproot. There's no clear plan yet. BIP-360 has been merged into the BIP repo but nothing has been activated. Whilst having a clear roadmap would help, I don't think fear will stop large money from doing this.

Will quantum fear reduce institutional investors?
Yeah, quantum can reduce institutional investors, especially those who rely on public opinion to draw conclusions without making adequate research about the subject matter. But one question though, does bitcoin really need institutional investors before it can thrive? The answer is NO. Before institional investors came in, bitcoin price was already climbing (i.e from less than one dollar in 2009 and up to ten thousand dollar from 2018-2019). In my point of view, I think institutional investors are overhyped.

It is very good as the made such information that is not verified to be true here on the Speculation board and you know what that means is that even the threat of the quantum computers on the cryptography is still a Speculation. There had also not been any verified source that is in legitimate to determine about the market performance or values of Bitcoin. According to statistic, Bitcoin trades over $1.65 Trillions capitalization and trending amongst first 15 global asset. My take on this note is that I don't see how any institutional companies will assume because of this uncertainty risk with quantum and decides not buy Bitcoin. We have also heard similar unnecessary excuses from those enthusiasts with their excuses of waiting to buy the DIP or when the price is surging for increase. And they ends up not buying while holding to their excuses m

For the most part, a lot of persons might not seem to care because, it’s an imaginary reality which extends far into an unknown future.
And for that problem, there's always a solution that's being done to it. So, worrying won't be a thing to them for as long as they're focused into accumulation, that's all that matters the part of financial growth than the fear of quantum. I think this is the same fear/FUD that's been brought before about bitcoin mining should only be done through renewable energy. Was that the time when Elon said that and the market reacted? they always create more reasons for people to panic so they can stack more.

Markets do look ahead to future problems even if they will never exist, the potential does weigh some to long term considerations on how to weight an asset. So its fair to say some percentage of this is true in not every buyer but a few of size who can alter price, its not significant just yet imo but still its probably true to say yes.
Its also the case Bitcoin protocol can be altered, its not rigid as some may think so this story is overdone already. However perception works on the most communicable ideas in a market most often, markets are often wrong on tech in some way outside of crypto anyhow so this wouldnt be the first time. Its a few percent and perhaps that dynamic of apprehension will rise until the story is completely met and disproved, some will try to exaggerate the story to provoke a brief sell I imagine.

No it will not reduce institutional investors. Here is why will is future tense. The reality is the reduction in investing from institutional buyers started last year. This dropped the prices bigly and is continuing to suppress demand as I type.

How can AI hacker tools "crack Bitcoin codes"? AI tools search for vulnerabilities in software and algorithms. But they only can detect vulnerabilities that exist, not "crack" anything. If ECDSA really is vulnerable to an attack, then AI could perhaps find that. But it is quite unlikely because elliptic curve cryptography is already quite old and of course has been tested a lot. Where AI excels is finding vulnerabilities that are introduced in newer commits of software tools, because that's often due to a lack of human testing, but of course AI can also be used in a defensive way. In cryptography probably the most prominent "AI attack" was the finding of a vulnerability in the HAWK post-quantum algorithm. This is however a new algorithm which wasn't tested that extensively, and that event also is one of the reasons why the transition to post-quantum cryptography should not be rushed.

That's why they are called institution as they have build their wealth not by chance but careful planning. You did not under what I am asking. I am not asking about AI, what I am asking about is the quantum computers. AI have been used in several hacks and scams this years, and its use for these bad things are increasing. But I do not ask the question about AI because I know institutional investors can not decide not to invest in bitcoin because of AI. AI is not a threat to bitcoin blockchain as of now if discussing about investing, the threat is quantum computers.

For the fact that it is not only Bitcoin that quantum computers pose a threat to, solutions will be provided on ways quantum computers will be challenged successfully without losses occurring.
Institutional investors shouldn't let quantum computers be what stops them from investing in Bitcoin because there won't be a way everyone in the world will be calm while quantum computers take over the world to crack everything cryptography-related

Will quantum fear reduce institutional investors?
For now? No but I can tell you that the institutions are definitely looking into this direction. Why I write that it won’t be a much bigger concern now is that quantum computing is actually still having more years before it could come to pass even with the AI advancement that looks like it will help in bringing it closer but at least I am confident we have few more years until then. With years remaining I do think that institutions will be basing their investment decisions around two possible outcomes that there would most probably be a bitcoin improvement proposal that will be for resistance of this quantum computing before it even happens or they would be investing now with not so long term plans probably five years investment plan just so that if there wasn’t any improvement they would pull the plug. But to be honest quantum fear will most definitely affect institutional decisions

If institutions are going to be afraid of quantum computers and stop investing, then where they are going to put their money in the future where everyone is a being threaten by quantum computers?
Banks, stocks and every services are under threat now. So it doesn't make sense for them to stop just because of the threat. And it could be compared to the Y2K bug, wherein before it actually occurred, there are solutions that took place and when the time comes, there are just few adjustments made and in the next couple of days everything is back to normal.

Very true. Hacks could be mitigated and affect a few people in the industry. But the quantum threat could do large-scale harm to the crypto space. But to be honest quantum fear will most definitely affect institutional decisions
Institutional investors are closely monitoring situations. There have never been any reports of any big crypto firms abandoning the industry citing quantum threats. For now, investors still have confidence in the industry.

Bitcoin quantum fear is a problem on ground, but I don't think it is a major problem for Bitcoin and the Bitcoin community, what we may be seeing from Super Artificial Intelligence is what I see as a major threat to Bitcoin and anything that has to do with security.
Based on predictions of how the growth of AI is fast paste, it will be a matter of time for it to be able to do the unthinkable. Though, with this bad side coming up, so will it also be used to upgrade and increase the security level of Bitcoin when the time comes. The fear is just the fact of AI gaining consciousness.
