I'm making this post to alert those that use it in receiving signature payments, especially as Rainbet payment is expected anytime soon. You can reach out to your managers and tell him to hold or provide a new wallet address. We don't know for how long withdrawals would be disabled.

Dangers of receiving Bitcoin directly to a centralized exchange, people don't learn. The manager already made payment, i don't think he changed the address before paying. If the funds are deposited, Binance assured customers that their funds are secured, only that they won't be able to access them until Binance rectifies the vulnerability and becomes fully operational.

Too many hacks in a single year, I hope other exchanges are taking note of the situation, nobody knows the next exchange that will be attacked.

Grinex , Bitget and now binance of all cryptocurrencies exchanges . Not to mention about casinos like
 Duelbits  and Gamdom that also got hacked this year .

This is really getting alarming , as time goes scammers are also getting better as we work on improving our privacy and security . Personally , I don’t use my exchanges to receive any payment nor hold . But still as a trader there will be some asset there .

This is why we have to be more careful and start practicing the use of noncustodial when come to holding or selling (through DEX) too .

There is nothing wrong using exchange like binance to receive funds that will be sent to exchange instead of a non custodial wallet, where the problem lies is when you receive and don't send to a non custodial wallet. Yon know everyone does their own thing the way it's convenient for them. There are people who receive fund through binance from then, they will send some for exchange into bitget or bybit and send some for storage in their non custodial wallet. It's not a big deal anyway but where the problem lies is when they received and allow it to be their for too long knowing they don't have total control over it.

The News says Binance hot wallet and not user’s wallets you know. So all the funds that was stolen wasn’t actually directly from one user’s wallet. Of course there’ll always be people who keep money on exchanges, maybe not BTC but using those exchanges to hold some altcoins, and these funds are kept in the hot wallet, as well as customer’s pooled assets. So people who are holding altcoins or stablecoins literally have no other choice but to make use of or store their money on these exchanges.

Although through CZ’s statement, we may not really have much to worry about customer’s funds. One thing I know is that they’ll definitely find a way to tackle this issue fast because they’ll wouldn’t wanna keep people in suspense for too long as people could lose confidence in them. I’ll advise we all stay calm and await Binance’s official statement on this.

Any centralized exchange is proned to hacking, if these big players are vulnerable to hackers this way, that means other smaller centralized exchange are just minor from these hackers.  I remember back then Binance got hacked of $40m.

The whole centralized industry is not safe, why so much vulnerability to hackers, these guys are joking with people's money, are they saying they don't know what these faults are? They are sleeping with their security systems, what's really happening?

It's enough, this is getting out of hand, no exchanges is exempted from these hackers, they aren't afraid. There is something fishy they aren't saying.

I don’t think most people here would keep significant sum on exchangers, besides Binance is quite reputable and this isn’t the first time they’ve been hacked and they seem to have a good track record in terms of handling the situation.
It was reported that Tether and Circle have assisted by freezing suspicious assets with USDT being around $971million and USDC around $823million, other reports say Tether froze about $1.5billion.

This got me wondering about bitcoins permissionless settlements and the amount of control built in centrally issued tokens. In the general sense, Bitcoin transactions cannot be reversed or frozen by any central authority, USDC and USDT have the ability to freeze tokens, while these can help contain attacks like this it also means the holders depend on their policy and ability to intervene.

Binance has built a name for itself that could stand against hack and now that has happened it will cost some destabilization but everything will be back to normal, else things might just get worse.

Based on the trust Binance has built, there will be a lot having their funds there but since this  will be sorted then we will just have to wait, although things like this will aid the decisions of individuals not to rely on CEX.

This is no joke because the first thing I did as soon as I read this was to go check my Binance account and also check for the withdrawal option and boom it's no jokes as the withdrawal option is already disabled.

I am also still using their service mainly for crypto currency trading but it is very worrying that despite being such a reputable and large exchange they will be hacked for such a large amount of money. However it seems that among all the exchanges that have been hacked so far, the largest amount of Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies have been hacked from Binance as we can see that about $5.4 billion dollars worth of crypto assets have been hacked, and a few days ago, an exchange called Bitget also hacked more than $350 million assets.

We should all take note of this Exchange "Service Update" as Binance's co-founder has already mentioned, their deposit operations are unaffected and running normally Binance team is working on improving the withdrawal service and address control system along with it and note they mentioned withdrawal service will be up and running in the next 48 hours. Even all nigerians should be aware that the hardware wallets and exchanges you use are being hacked, so hold bitcoins safely.

I would have maybe continue using the word hack but I felt since I was addressing the general public an not other exchanges, I had to switch to using the word scam because at the end, both scam and hack require good safety measures.

I hate reading crypto vulnerabilities these days, as they are too much and it's becoming annoying. More than $6B crypto worth has been reportedly affected. However, Binance is a big exchange, so this will pass. They indicated they would restore withdrawal within 48 hours. Let's see if they would be true to their words.

I'm surprise that bitget, bybit and binnance have all been hacked in just a year.  This doesn't speak good of these exchanges because it seem their security systems are weak and repeatedly vulnerable to hack.

Binnance is the biggest exchange among them, so I expected it to be more secured but it seems they're just a big name and not what I thought they truly were, they aren't as secure as their reputation speaks.  Centralised exchanges are a death trap, so we should all avoid holding our coins on them because it has been shown that they are not reliable in terms of security.
