I didn’t see many of the users changing their wallet address on the campaign thread, I think most of them don’t really keep money there after receiving payment. They sell them off or move them to a personal wallet. Also, binance is one of the exchanges that their users trust so much, they believe their funds are safe and can continue using them despite the recent hack that lead to this short term withdrawal suspension.
The irony of the panic is that people do not panic, that just mean they trust Binance with their money. The whole world is watching and will take them for their words. The theft is the talk all over the global news outlets because it is the largest heists ever recorded in this technological times. Most outlets are saying Binance should be back for withdrawal tomorrow (Sunday), and some said it would be on Monday. Either of the two, Binance is too large to disappoint the world. I have money there and I am not panicking for a second. I will be if they do not unfreeze the withdrawal by 7 days. That is far. What they are doing is necessary for security.

Am shocked seeing this, because they have built a reputation over the years and a lot of us still use them including myself. Thank God I just cam across this and am hoping I can avert any payments to that exchange before I get my funds lost in limbo.
It really shows no exchange is actually safe out there anymore. What a world!

Maybe what you need is an eye opened. Binance has opened your eyes to see that no exchange or wallet is free of some hack. All wallets holding Bitcoin are a big target for scammers. During this period, we should be very careful about how we store our coins. Honestly, I will advise that all the coins should be sold to fiat. Only traders should keep their coins on exchanges.

The high rate of crypto hack is becoming alerming this days, because in just two years alone (2025/2026), 3 notable crypto exchange have been hacked, which include Bybit, Bitget and now Binance within a space of just 1year. And looking at the level through which these hackers are going about it, this will definately have a negative impact on how the average newbie investors now perceive Bitcoin to be, because some will now start comparing that if big exchanges like Binance and co could be hacked, who are they that can't be hacked?  And secondly, I also heard that the Lazurus brothers of North Korea could be responsible for these exchange hacks that have been going on recently, most especially that of Bybit, Bitget and this Binance, totalling the sum of $7.647 billion hacked in just 2years.

The most annoying part of these exchange hacks is that people don't learn, they'll be like afterall customers funds wasn't affected and the situation was resolved by the exchange then continue to save with exchanges. These should've serve as an eye opener that self-custody is the best way to preserve Bitcoin but some people are out of the group chat, they'll still continue using exchanges to store Bitcoin. Based on the previous successful hacks by that particular group, it's easy to point fingers at them when heavy amount is stolen, i feel there could be other anonymous groups too.

We cannot all learn a lesson at a particular incident, until several scenarios like this happens again in the future, which I don't pray for, though this is not the first time the Binance has been hacked, I can say that this is the second time something like this happens to Binance, despite this particular one is a huge amount of funds its so disturbing. So some people are actually experiencing it for the first time, but atleast I have came across many threads or comments that many reputable members here do advices people not to store thier coins in an exchanges, this issue would definitely makes Binance loses many customers trusts, not only Binance but other exchanges also would beplace on doubts.

I just confirmed the new, CZ said "it looks like" Binance has been hacked what a funny man. I wonder if he was ashamed of saying they've been hacked. That aside why would people store their Bitcoins with exchanges after knowing how vulnerable they've been to hackers this year.

Let me just believe that no one is doing that cause I'll be so disappointed that after several exchanges got hacked people still use Binance to receive payment, like what would even give them the mind to trust the exchange?
There is a level your company would attain and certain things that may happen may appear to be unbelievable to you at the first notice. It should interest you to know that from records, Binance is one of top exchanges that spends huge funds in just ensuring a topnotch security of their company, so it's possible that when CZ might have felt unbelievable and shock to conclude it immediately that the company system has being hacked and funds moved.

People who store or hold their coins in CEx are just weird people to me, because how can you not finds many reasons to self custody your coins, especially as it costs no cent in doing that. I think these are people thatin reality are scared of responsibility and they take similar habits into cryptocurrency.

Binance just announced that they have resumed withdrawals in two networks. Ethereum and BNB. You can withdraw both USDC and USDT in both chains. You can equally withdraw ETH, and BNB in their native chain. According to Binance post on X, they promised to enable full withdrawal gradually. Check it out and get your assets out of there. Hope you all will learn from this experience. Self custody remains the best as nobody detects for you when and when not to withdraw your assets.

I mentioned this yesterday that for those worried about withdrawing their crypto assets after the Binance hack, Binance has announced that their withdrawal service will be up and running from November 1st. You are slightly wrong because they didn't just restart withdraw from ethereum network or BNB smart chain because the network they started in the first step of the withdrawal process was bitcoin network.

Details should be observed very carefully while withdrawing money from Bitcoin network and Ethereum and BNB smart chain network and all members of this local board should ensure that your device is secure and the address you are using is accurate.

And they said that the rollout will be phased, even though the first phase will include the following networks and assets that users will be able to withdraw gradually.

The more security verifications are made the more different withdrawal networks will be available.
They stayed with us through this crisis and was responding the people who were trying to communicate with them, people who had assets in their exchange, this is the reason why we didn't see much panic around people who were using Binance and many will keep using them even after this incident.
So if you don't want to work with the available networks you can wait for others to come back online and then you can move your funds.

"Once beaten twice shy", that's how people should be ruthless concerning finance the security of their finance, no one is above mistake but not allowing a particular mistake happen repeatedly, especially the one that involves losing funds shouldn't be tolerated. Before Binance got hacked, several exchanges were hacked too which gives a warning about storing digital assets with exchanges. Maybe some folks want such situation to reoccur like thrice before taking corrections.

I heard this news too but I was not shocked because the worst has already happened this is not the first time they are hacking wallets like this but Binance has built a good reputation over the years, so I would not blame people who's assets was there because they believe it and trusted how it has been working over the years, but it is truly an eye opener now people who leave their assets in wallets like this will be cautious, no wallet is even safer nowadays, just leave your asset and boom hack news is flying about, honestly I have always trusted Binance it has been running smoothly until this hack incident I hope it has been truly resolved so people can withdraw their assets, nothing seems safe anymore.

I don't see any thing wrong in storing your coins in exchanges. You guys are just making sound like it's a bad thing to do whereas alot of you that are saying such things still keep their coins in Exchanges. We saw  a wallet get hacked last 2 months, so no where is really safe. The best thing to do is by not putting everything in one place.  Large portion of your coin can be stored in the wallet then the remaining one can be kept in Exchange(but only the reliable ones). Binance is a top exchange and an attack like this are rare, but when it finally happened they were able to assure their users that their coins are safe and try their best in order to recover the stolen funds.  Now withdrawal are open  for some networks and they are working on other ones too.

If they have reputation, does that prevent them from being hacked, if you use them that nice, afterall we all need exchange for different purposes, I think people that I will fault are those that hodl in exchanges, they would have known that it is not safe hodl in any of them irrespective of their reputation or whatever, although the said a larger percentage of the funds has been recovered, and at the moment withdrawal has started, they kept their words on the the date the gave to customers when they will resume withdrawal, but that does not mean we should store Bitcoin on any exchange, nah nah nah.

You mentioned that all wallets holding Bitcoin should sell to fiat. Is that fear speaking in you or it is cautiousness? What this sound to me is like suggesting people should close a wound to open another wound.

Do not keep your coins in exchange and if you do be ready for the consequences that may follow. A cold wallet is the solution instead of selling your Bitcoins for fiat.

Then I ask, is the Lazarus group invincible that they can't be tracked down? I don't know much about the Lazarus group but I read that they have been involved in cyber attacks in the past 10 years so why are they still existing if they are already known? This is becoming too much and will for sure scare newbies that would want to invest in cryptocurrency because they will be afraid if they keep hearing about exchange hacks.

Now that three most popular exchanges has been attached, their next target might be Kucoin so those who are using Kucoin needs to be at alert and avoid leaving their cryptos inside the exchange because my instincts is telling me that Kucoin will be the next.

Most of the users who work on various campaigns probably use exchange wallets. If all the campaign funds are spent every week, then I think there is nothing to panic about this issue because whenever a user receives a payment from the campaign, he will spend that payment and use it for his own needs. But those who do not plan to sell or who usually run their family or meet their needs from different sources of income should be careful about this. Because every week's payments will be combined for a while, but the amount will be very large, so it is never safe to keep such a large amount in the exchange wallet. In the past, we have seen several times that big exchanges have been hacked, and we are still seeing those issues, so if we are careful, we can protect our funds from such hacking.

Thanks for the heads up!

I hate reading crypto vulnerabilities these days, as they are too much and it's becoming annoying. More than $6B crypto worth has been reportedly affected. However, Binance is a big exchange, so this will pass. They indicated they would restore withdrawal within 48 hours. Let's see if they would be true to their words.
Definitely this will pass ,they have built a good reputation over the years , if not that this hackers are moving differently this period, know body would have thought that they will get binance, but it's well, but as it stand now ,all this exchange are not to be trusted again , especially for those who love saving there , only this year they have done a lot of hacking which is not even funny ,and this also shows that they have to start working on there security system,so all this will not reoccurred again ,even as an individual we need to be careful if not I really don't know ,scammer are on another level now .

It we know that Binance had the largest amount of dollars hacked in Crypto history but it already appears that they launched the withdrawal service today as promised and from there the withdrawal process was launched for all 15 networks and assets in the first phase.

As a result, many have already withdrawn their crypto holdings and the exchange has already processed $4.649 billion in withdrawals and $1.01 billion in deposits since the start of this update. Here I am trying to highlight that users have been able to transfer their money from these networks mentioned here.

Snip
The risk goes beyond  hacking, there's the aspect of mismanagement and fraud that makes up the entire risk. If you don't understand the dangers we are hinting on about not having to store your coins in  Exchange then it's of no use  trying to convince you.about that. If you ain't a trader or a merchant dealing in P2P then what have you as an excuse storing bulking funds in Exchange and hen you can do that and have custody with noncustodial wallet.

Honestly, I will advise that all the coins should be sold to fiat. Only traders should keep their coins on exchanges.
Coins held in an exchange can still be transferred to non-custodial wallets if the person isn't yet ready to liquidate them. They can hold Bitcoin in trusted open-source wallets like Electrum, blue wallet or Sparrow. For alt coins cake wallet is a very good option. Naira isn't a good option to keep lots of funds. If you're not interested in holding coins anymore you can invest it in other channels like real estate, agriculture or precious metals
