I had a bad experience in local gambling, i gamble against someone who senior me by 3 years, after i won all his money he refused to accept defeat he overpowered me and took his money from me by force, i could not do anything to resist him because he is stronger than me, and since that incident i stopped participating in local gambling. I have and I enjoy playing it with few friends when we get together during the holidays and it is always more fun then the ones I play on casino platforms. When we are playing those games. the goal is not always to make money but to enjoy ourselves and also play together as we used to do when we were younger and this come with alots of memories. Mine is not cricket that we play but it is football and some times card games, local betting always beats commercial betting and I will choose playing it any opportunities that I get. Still happens but not in cricket, everything that has to do with you are your friends challenging eachother I am always win because the goal isn't to be the best or look like the better one among my friends, the goal is to have some fun, in my city there is no place to travel down to and do some sightseeing like we used to see college kids do in movies, all we have is some local games and the challenges, it's always a very good feeling.

Ours was on football and we bet with a middle man handling the cash, we popularly call the boardman, his involvement negates every fear of not getting your money cause someone failed to pay for his lost side.

It was more like a tournament but very locally organised with a groups in sets and every sets gets eliminated from first match till we get third and second runners and a winner.

Yes, this is what happens and because of these things, the trouble spreads more. When the money is with two gamblers and when one of the two gamblers loses, naturally the other gambler will refuse to give that money because he has the money and he knows that even if he messes with it, it will not be much profit. Nothing beats going out to a live sports complex and betting with your friends or some locals. I remember the days when online betting is not that famous here in our country, me and my friends usually goes to our sports complex if there are basketball matches which are typhically called "liga" which are local athletes represent their "barangay" to win the liga. Friendly betting causes a lot of problems and it is not really worth it in my opinion because of the problems that it causes among Friends, it is always better to bet or gamble privately to avoid such. Agree! Nothing beats the excitement of gambling while watching a game with your friends. Because while online gambling is easy and offers more markets, gambling with your friends on basic stuff is even more exciting because you can watch the game with them, taunt them, troll them, or get trolled, and feel the excitement all the way through to win or lose.

To be honest, gambling in my area is prohibited. Basically, you can't gamble freely. But my friend used to organize bets, back when I was in middle school. I still remember that it was bets on our local country's football league, and the winnings were so small. But still, that money was valuable to a middle school kid. Those were the good old days, because I can say I was pretty lucky back then, and several times that winning money let me buy new shoes and enjoy good food. I’m being reminded of those memories and those times I don’t even see them as betting; rather, we commonly regard it as challenging one another, and the winner, especially for running, swimming or climbing, will be on top of his head among his peers.

You can bet with other people here, you just need to find an escrow accepting to take charge of the money bet until the end of the event and to distribute the winnings along with any potential surplus according to the rules you defined at the start of the game. Or to just bet against people you trust and you know they will send the funds without risks or delay, you would need to also define clear rules with your counterpart to avoid disputes but usually when outcomes are simple rules can also be simple.
