That pattern of entertainment is two opposite teams challenging one another to see which among them will be at the top and hyped. For the sake of their pride, they put in their best, nothing like men challenging each other for money or anything can could cause disagreement like money can easily break friendship once it's always involve, and a particular set appears to be winning more than the other.
I quite often see such tournament being organized for young teenager in our area.
Best thing about local tournament like this is that people participate not just to win, but also for sake of their team’s honor and enjoyment of their community. Cheering from spectator, friendly rivalry and spending time together all of this makes such game enjoyable.
However, even in absence of money rivalry can lead to disagreement. Again presence of small prize doesn’t mean that friendship will be ruined. Problem actually arises when participants begin to doubt the fairness or when someone behaves in excessively insulting manner toward losing team. So for any event like this, it is best to have rule, referee and procedure for awarding prizes clearly established in advance. This will allow for competition while ensuring that personal relationship are not unnecessarily put at risk.
