Can Nigeria do without Politics?

This country called Nigeria and her citizens has channels all energy into politics, and politics has now become the business of the day in our dear country.

We where made to understand that Nigeria is the giant of Africa and by the look of things, I can make bold to say that the country called Nigeria has now take flight, in going backward.

You see our leaders today? they have forgotten to invest in our dear country, all they could do today is to contest election and think of how to milk the people, then they will now go outside the country (international communities) and invest forgetting to invest in the country that made them. so it's as if politics is the game of the day. so I want to know if actually as a country, we can do without politics?

You know, this country is so blessed to the extent that if properly managed, God has blessed this country with crude oil, God has bless us with cassava, God has bless us with coco, God have bless us with golds and so many other things two numerous to mention.

this is a country that can sail through with or without that politics. we have all that it takes to survive as a country but everybody have logged into politics.

So CAN WE DO WITHOUT POLITICS?

You mean Nigeria should not have a leader? Like we should go back to the military regime or a monarchy system? We have been in the military regime and it wasn't so pleasant, Nigeria is a country with so many ethnicity so a King or queen to rule over the country won't work.
If Nigeria is without a leader then things will disintegrate even more, I believe Nigerians should be realistic and a discussion about no leader is not realistic, what Nigeria needs are good politicians.

Mate let it not be generalized, although I will agree with anyone that said politics has become an industry in Nigeria but that's for politicians, it has become the oil company in Nigeria where few people hold the entire country hostage, no economic planing, what we keep hearing is borrowing this and that, thereby putting the future generations into debt, politicians has already loot the country dry, instead of building industries here so that the problem of unemployment will be solved to some extent, they prefer doing it else where enriching and developing other countries.

Yes we can, but you know something that's part of people, it will be very difficult for them to leave it just like talk more when it is been seen as the easiest way to get rich by embezzling public funds, we are still at this level because the people with the right mindset are not in power yet, although we have a long way to go but I believe things can actually change but only when people of this country started seeing leadership positions as call to serve their country not for family self or family enrichment.

Elections are carried out in order for the citizens to elect a leader of their choice and these leaders are politicians. If you say that Nigeria doesn't need politics, how will Nigerians elect a leader. You should know that without a leader in any country, there will be no orderliness and citizens will start doing what they like which will turn into survival of the fittest. What Nigeria needs is a good leader only the citizens can make that happen.

We obviously need leaders and a system of government but look at the amount of attention we give during election period and who will occupy the next office, meanwhile the issue affecting the people is still there. People are still struggling to survive, a lot of graduates are still out there looking for jobs up and down even basic things that is supposed to work is still a problem. Firstly, what @Basels mentioned is the right initiative to go about this topic, it's uncultured to bring out Nigeria's bad history to the open and taint the image that many would have about our government even before visiting.

Secondly, what do you think politics is? Maybe you could have mentioned corrupt politics to pass a more explicit information directed to "corruption" and not politics in general. No country can do without politics. Politics are part of everything we do. We need politics to select the people that will manage the affairs of the country, the state and the local government, down to the community. If you remove politics from the people, how do you want the country to be managed. If you say can Nigeria do without politics you literally mean that we should stay without a leader because politics is the game that brought about a leader so it's not possible that we can do without a leader, except you are saying the country should just be like a homeless place where there is no father. Well, to answer your question I will tell you that this country cannot do without politics because there must be a leader who will oversee the affairs of the country, you are misunderstanding the position of politics because the politicians has made it look like an evil game and for personal interests.

You are right, politics might sound very small but when we breakdown every component or things in the country that was only possible because of politics op would be very surprise because even with the laws that has been protecting the country and also constitution was all because of politics so actually we could imagine how worst the country would have been if there was know laws or Constitution, politics is part of the survival of everyone in the country because both roads constructions, social amenities and so many things that is making life smooth originated from politics, so know matter what leaders are doing nobody should feel that getting rid of politics is the right way.

OP is not been obvious or clear in his point. Because when he said that we don't need politics in Nigeria, it seems to be a bit complicating here because there is no country that doesn't have a political system in which their leaders are been chosen through electoral system. Or maybe, what he was trying to say is that we don't need mean or bad politicians that has continued to milked from the country resources over the years and left their subject in abject poverty for the past years.

Refrain from that concept of saying that if we can without politics, corruption will reduce and the society will benefit from it, how can you validate this statement? You don't have dare what can be the consequences of such thing, infact how is that even possible? I doubt if any country can do without politics. Every country needs those who will be in position to mind the affairs of the country, either by appointment or by election. What we Nigeria as a country needs, are good people who have good mind to take the country to the next level in political position and not to abolish politics in the country.

The hope I think majority of Nigerians have is to have a better leader that have the people and it's country at heart. Cause if there's a good leader these things you mentioned like the crude oil, golds, etc it will be used and managed properly and there will be more investors here in Nigeria. But because of the bad leaders we have that are after their own pockets the country isn't progressing rather going down by the day.

Nigeria can't do without politics, and Nigerian politicians seeing politics as the easiest way to get rich isn't even the main reason why Nigeria can't do without politics. Since Nigeria is made of diverse people and needs a leader who will represent the interest of Nigerians in national and international level, and since the person who will carry this mantle needs to be decided through voting, that is where political parties and politics comes in.

There are only few politicians in Nigeria that are good and those people hardly go into power, with the way Nigeria has been for long I even think it will be better we exist without a leaders because we are already like people without leaders but i don't think this can be possible every country already have people leading them and it will be unfortunate that we didn't have. The good we can do to our self now is electing a good and a better president so we can be like people with leaders but if we are to have someone like Tinubu again next year i think it will be more better we never have a president.
