When a trader avoid making revenge trade after experiencing massive trading losses it automatically reduce and limit the rate of losses the trader experiences during its trading period, and most traders ignore this strategic trading approach because of how desperate they are to recover their lost money immediately which at the end will result to massive financial losses of their trade. That is why its required of every trader to avoid revenge trading because it is an emotional trap that makes traders to instantly force the trading market to give them back the money they just lost from their trade, making these traders to risk more of their money to trade just to recover their lost money back and also to wipe out their previous loss in just a trade, that is driven by anger and panic which makes these set of traders to abandon and forget their trading strategy completely.

Any trader trying to revenge trade after experiencing losses should just know that they are fooling themselves. How can someone take revenge on a market that they cannot control? Doing so is likely to lead to even more losses. As a trader, you need to set a certain amount of money aside for trading, and once you lose that amount, you should not enter the market again until you have taken the time to understand what went wrong. This means that something must have gone wrong, and instead of trying to revenge-trade, what you need to do is conduct more research to understand why you are experiencing losses. When a trader tries to revenge trade, they are more likely to suffer even greater losses because they may not take the time to conduct proper analysis. As a result, the trader will likely end up gambling with the market continuously

Being disciplined as a trader is one of the biggest achievements you can be proud of because it has its own advantages when it comes to revenge trades. As a trader who is very disciplined, you have no business with going after loss trades because you already have a plan you’re trading which will always be your guide.
Being disciplined is very important and it's the most important thing about trading, the reason why a lot of traders end up not making as much profit as the losses they incur. In the long run what keeps traders in check is discipline and consistency and not really the knowledge that they have.

Quote
Wins and losses are part of trading that you should get conversant with and not a means for you to feel pompous that you know it all or feel sad that you’ll be angry to want to recover your loss back. Not everyone can control their emotions but if you can, then you’re one step ahead of the market and won’t be affected much when you meet with a loss, or even think of a revenge trading.
Controlling emotions isn't really as difficult as a lot of people think it is, all it takes is just learning market psychology and understanding how to apply risk management, when traders fail to follow these basic principles this is what makes them retrade after incurring losses.

I watched BTW manipulated and there was one trader that shorted the coin, he was take out of his stop loss and the money was a big one. The stop loss he set was so big that he didn't expected the trade was going to be take out. When he realized that he has made bad loss, he didn't follow the people doing the manipulation to push BTW, he stayed with his strategy and re-enter the trade because he believes that the trade will reverse and fortunately for him, it went as he expected and all the loss he made came back and even made small profits.

If you are a trader and you experienced loss, if you don't know what to do next, don't do a revenge tradings. You should either stop trading and come back another time or look for another trade to make and you shouldn't put your loss on your mind to get back else you may even suffer another loss and it will be impossible to get profits that will cover your losses.

Well to me i believe the market moves in different ways, and one of them is psychological, which means you might actually be revenge trading and you wouldn't even know, and perhaps this mentality is one that isn't easily noticeable by most traders.just like every other regular trades after a loss, then you jump back in most folks even call it consistency and in that point in time, they begin to make impulsive decisions ,and at the end of the day, they end up getting liquidated out of the market. Best to say as a trader you must understand that losses are inevitable for that, you must try as much as possible not to trade irrationally. Basically you are supposed to trade with the trend, not against the trend. This logic applies not only technically, but mentally too because if your psychology is messed up, you will be jumping in and out of the market with no clear understanding of the market direction. That's all......

The moment it becomes a case of revenge trading, I just know that logical reasoning has gone out the window and emotional trading has taken over. Revenge trading itself is not all bad, you can take a revenge trade and it would work. This works in gambling too. But where it becomes dangerous is when emotions completely take over and that is what leads to the series of losses associated with revenge trading.

I recently passed phase 1 of a prop trading challenge without a losing streak not more than 2. When I got to phase 2, my first two trades were losses and I just tilted. That move has landed me in a terrible spot right now. But the good thing was that, I was able to stop myself completely annihilating the account but the losses were deep though.

This means you should be mentally prepared to handle losses, because in my opinion, when someone can accept losses, they’re less likely to seek revenge on the market. Therefore, never trade beyond your means.
Assuming someone is mentally prepared to handle losses like you said, can the person still be able to handle the losses assuming they were trading with a massive capital that they couldn't have afford to lose? Based on what you said, losses is part of trading, that's true, and some traders might not do revenge trading because they are mentally ready to handle it but I think that they are able to handle losses not just because they are mentally ready but also because they are only investing a small amount that they can afford to lose. It's just like gambling, whereby some players risk a massive amount of money and when they lose it, they will start chasing after their losses because they can't afford to lose such a huge amount.

However, I know that we all come to adapt revenge trading, and after that, we learned the hard way. Now I just want to trade, and as much as possible avoid revenge trading because its not helping at all.

A lot of people fail to understand or consider the fact that revenge trading is a proof of indiscipline and there's no way that such traders are going to make profit in the long run this is because they are losing more than the profits they make due to their lack of emotional control. Re-trading or revenge trading can be very dangerous because at that particular time when you are incurring losses you aren't exactly in the right headspace which is most likely going to make you incur losses, at such times it's important to take some time off to reevaluate your strategies.

Instead of allowing their losses to go, they will want to try to see if they will be able to get their money back instead of just letting it go and trying again next time. They will still want to try, and they should understand that, as a trader, you need to be emotionally ready before you start trading. So when things like this happen, instead of taking their time for them to trade next time after they lost a trade, the best thing you need to do is just for you to learn from the mistake you made instead of trying to revenge, and before anyone start trading they need to take their time at least to understand some certain principles.

Your question:
Quote
You know you can't beat the trading market, so why take revenge trading?

assumes that people often know when they are in a tilt or are revenge trading. You won't immediately know that you are revenge trading or in a tilt until much later. Its only the most disciplined traders that can figure it out early and stop it. Self-awareness usually fails because we usually default to rationalization.

Very simple to avoid revenge trading, when you're so highly emotional - don't trade.
When you feel that you're in an unstable thoughts - don't trade.
If you like to recover, you need to be mentally and emotionally stable at that time.
Most of the traders who continue to dwell in losses are those who have practiced well and yet, lack of control in those factors.

But traders who are already at a huge loss are already impatient and cannot wait to recover their losses. I know at some point in time, we all behaved like this especially for those newbies in trading. But trading with emotions will only worsen the situation, and even bring us to bigger losses once we decide to continue trading.

Instead, take some time to break and develop new trading strategies, than to push your emotions and blame yourself in the long run.

If you are a trader, and you notice that your loss is already getting too much, then the best thing to do is just for you to stop trading at that moment, you just have to relax, and figure out where you are getting things wrong before you will continue trading. If you are a trader, and you are desperate to make money, you are just going to lose back most of your money. As a trader never involve yourself in a revenge trading, because at some points you just going to be frustrated, and you might end up making decisions which you are not suppose to make.

As a trader, just make sure you figure out the best strategy for yourself, and you going to be making your money. Lots of people have lost their money in trading just because they were so desperate to recover the amount which they have lost in trading.

You know you can't beat the trading market, so why take revenge trading? Once you decide to go into it, you are no longer trading responsibly, but you are now into gambling, thinking that the more you trade, the higher chances of winning, but in reality, the more revenge trades, the bigger losses you will acquire.
Agree. We can't beat the market with revenge trading. Even trading isn't like gambling, trading with emotion won't bring good result because we will trade in a careless way. In this condition, the chance to win in trading will be smaller because we tend to do anything with emotion (lack of analysis). I personally prefer to stop trading if I get emotion because of too many losses. That's why we must ensure to use safe amount of money that we can afford to lose. So, we will never get emotion and decide to do revenge trading.

However, I know that we all come to adapt revenge trading, and after that, we learned the hard way. Now I just want to trade, and as much as possible avoid revenge trading because its not helping at all.
I never do revenge trading. I know I must have proper self-control before I decide trading. We must be aware that we need to have proper mentality as a trader. If we can't control the emotion, it is better to stay away from trading.

There's no doubt that revenge trading is the worst mistake any trader can make; it's something you simply shouldn't allow yourself to do.

I've tried it many times, and honestly, I wasn't successful in any of those trades because I lost every single one. There wasn't a single win; they were all trades that went terribly wrong.

A trader's maturity comes from making many mistakes, but the most important thing is that we take responsibility for each one of those mistakes and learn from them. We need to sit down and say, "I lost because of this or that." The idea is to never trade that way again. Only then can you reduce your loss rate. Trading is like life; it's a rollercoaster, but in trading, we should aim for more profits than losses.
