Hello Altcoin Board,

I had a general question about blockchains where the main purpose isn't use as a currency, but for data exchange (such as ADAMANT): how do such blockchains avoid extreme amounts of bloat while having extremely small transaction fees (equivalent value to less than $0.01 USD)?

I greatly appreciate all explanations.

The project you mentioned seems to be a fork of LISK to create their own appchain which helps reduce the fee needed. As far as I know to achieve high throughput, big data size, and keep things cheap, you're going to need an Appchain whether its a layer 1, layer 2, or layer 3. The Layer 3 is the cheapest and fastest which is why blockchain based games which need high throughput usually deploy their own.

Layer 1 is a lot of work , the Layer 2 is relatively easy and it bundled transactions which later get submitted to the Layer 1, Layer 3 is the cheapest because it bundled transactions to Layer 2 which is already cheap. Of course being cheapest come with a tradeoff, you'll have smaller access to liquidity or overall ecosystem from Layer 1.

Typically, large files (such as images, videos, PDFs) are not written directly to the blockchain; instead, a pointer (an address reference) to the data is encrypted and stored on the blockchain.
Since blocks are generated every few seconds and vary in size (with block size increasing alongside the volume of data) subscription models (such as weekly or monthly plans) are rare. Instead, pricing is generally based on the amount of data you wish to record.
Furthermore, some of these blockchains are not fully decentralized.

as for ADAMANT It is just L2
