Picking a strong team in any prediction is always dicey, most people lose because of their belief in a particular big team winning a match but the outcome sometimes throws everyone off balance, some times it feels like some of this big teams have an agreement with some casinos to cut people’s tickets, each weekend a particular big team might just flop and choose to lose and that will endanger everyone bettors bet slip.

There was a time.i placed a bet on a football team, I'm know this team very well that they are weak as compared to their opponent and thales chances they win are almost not there, so i decided to place the minium stake the casino does allow as a try for luck, meanwhile I have already placed another bet with a huge amount on the other team believing they were definitely winning, so the game kicked off and the whole dopamine was pumped because I have a bet placed in both teams, at first it was clear the bigger side was going  to win, as they played with so much confidence,  they also had good pressure on the weak opponent,  but fortunately for the opponent,  they were able to keep firm their defence and unluckily for the strong side, they got a red card and they eventually conceded a goal and that was how it ended,  I lost the big stake and I was so surprised,  it felt like something unreal.

I don’t think i agree with you on this, because Chelsea managed to win Man U 2:0 yesterday is not a guarantee that such a game was actually in favor of Chelsea from the beginning, anyone that would have picked Chelsea to win Man U yesterday would have actually been taken a huge risk, the reason is that regardless of Man U poor form this season they are not a work over for Chelsea, this two teams have always been strong rivals and their previous meetings have not shown that they are a work over for Chelsea.

Picking Chelsea to win yesterday wasn’t sure, there are teams that regardless of how poorly they are playing i won’t want to give Chelsea a straight win against them because of previous records, same thing happens whenever Chelsea is playing Arsenal, Chelsea always struggles regardless of their form and find it very difficult to win against such teams, so to me i will prefer to pick goal options, just to be on a safer side rather than pick a win because such games are often times very tough.

I'm not familiar with Cricket, but that was one heck of an odd. They must be the lowest underdog? But betting on that underdog was of great value. Imagine betting just $10 and hopes the underdogs become extremely lucky, and then you just won $100. Well, it it losses, at least that was just a small amount. Playing Barcelona over 2.5 goals does not make any gambler smart, you should know that there are bettors that like playing direct win while there are bettors that like playing over goals, betting Barcelona to win against Alaves or Barcelona to play over 2.5 goals depend on the option a bettor believe Barcelona could play, me i bet Barcelona to win Alaves in first half, i did that because the odds for Barcelona to win against Alaves was small, that does not make me a smart bettor because had the been Barcelona did not win in first half i would have lose my bet

OP story is an example that there are no risk free bets in sports betting or in gambling. There is a great old topic about man losing millions on a 1.01 bet. I also used to think that if I place bets on sport with 1.01-1.05 I will never lose or will lose only 5 out of 100 bets. That 5% chance of a loss happens too early for me. There were several times when 1% chance of loosing a bet came one after another. With sports betting it is even more unpredictable. I would even say that chance of a favorite to lose is higher than low odd bet in casino. Odds might say that opponent is a huge underdog, but no one is insured against luck or random encounter.

Because if I bet with small money to win more money, then there is a high chance of failure, so it is not surprising if the weak team suddenly wins.

Yes, and although it has nothing to do with cricket unlike the OP, it has happened to me at times to make a small suicidal bet in football, of the style of 30x, when I had very little money left in my balance, like just $1, and having won it. I most cases bets are played based on the strength of teams involved, and when you know that a particular team is stronger based on their performance, and your analysis, you will actually place your bet in the favour of the stronger team. It is very difficult for gamblers to place bet in favour of any underdog, the underdog can actually win sometime but in most cases victory goes to the big teams. Some persons who place bet against big teams do that purely to try their luck, and not based on full confidence.

I believe that your method is good to a certain degree, particularly when you've done a thorough research before wagering any money.  But I believe one factor you should put in mind is that, a team's strength does not always give you an idea of whether the odds are good or not. There are times when the odds given to a good team is so small that even if they end up winning your profit might not worth the risk. This is not to say you need to start betting on underdogs,  but just because you are sure that a team has the potential to win does not  mean betting on them is always a good decision.

Stronger teams are the easiest teams to side with because you have some hope that they will win but when you go against them then you have a higher chance of losing but sometimes, the game goes in their favor and they win but that does not mean it will happen more times. Sport is a lovely game and any team can win regardless of the sports that you are betting on but you should always go for the team that gives you a higher chance of winning.

The odds are big with the less likely team to win and those odds are big to attract you to choosing that team since most gamblers are greedy and they want to make more money but they lose that bet more time than they can win it. I do not go for underdogs majority of the time but there are few games that the underdog has a equal chance of winning then I will put my money on them winning.

I agree that even the strongest teams have their weaknesses and don't always live up to the expectations of fans and bettors.Sometimes the difference in quality between two teams really is huge, but that still doesn't guarantee a win.
You're absolutely right that it's important to look into the condition of both teams before placing a bet. I'd definitely pay attention to injuries to key players, the expected lineup, recent results, motivation, and how packed their match schedule is.

However, I'd add one more important point. 
So I think the most important thing in sports betting isn't just figuring out which team is stronger, but properly assessing its chances of winning and comparing that probability with the bookmaker's odds. And if you still have serious doubts after doing your research, it's better to skip the match altogether. After all, nobody is forcing us to bet on every sporting event, and protecting your bankroll is sometimes much more important than trying to make money betting on yet another favorite.
