It was exactly 18 years ago that the White Paper was published:
https://www.metzdowd.com/pipermail/cryptography/2008-October/014810.htmlIt all started with an exchange of emails, and today we have one of the most valuable assets in the world.
I think nobody who received that email 18 years ago would have expected Bitcoin to be what it is today.
Congratulations Bitcoin!
How have these 18 years of Bitcoin's existence been for you?
Honestly it's been really fascinating, and economically advantageous, especially to the low income earners who now have an opportunity to invest and change their financial identity over time.
But what I'm more fascinated about is the technology. I'm not gonna say I'm a pro in Bitcoin, I'm pretty much a newbie compared to a whole lot of us here (I ventured into Bitcoin/crypto 2022). But the tech, the decentralization, the encryption, how nodes, miners, BIP, consensus without centralization and all, working and coming together is truly a ground breaking tech.
I'm a programmer myself, although my work isn't in cryptography or web3. But, I made a mental note to venture into that space at some point—all thanks to Bitcoin and especially this forum.
