This is a quick reminder that nothing is truly 100% safe in crypto space

What would we ever do without your powers of observation? Smiley Did you only just reach this conclusion now, after so many hacks and thefts of crypto assets have taken place? Or were you perfectly "at ease" regarding your own assets for all those years prior?

If you have 0.2 BTC
It's not wrong to split them into two separate cold storage, airgapped devices.
It is better to divide your holdings into several (more) parts and store them using various methods, such as exchanges, mobile wallets, and online services, rather than relying solely on one or two hardware wallets. Should allocate specific portions of your portfolio to each storage method based on the potential risks involved. This is what is known as risk diversification.

I wouldn’t go so far as to "revere" airgapped hardware wallets as being super reliable, there’s no telling what vulnerabilities might be lurking within them (what if they contain a flaw similar to the one found in Coldcard?).

Starting to assume that you can get hacked is unfortunately now the beginning of wisdom in this crypto space today.
Don't sit back and feel safe because your crypto wallet isn't touched, yet.
Consider this one of the reasons why investing in cryptocurrencies is considered risky.

AI and North Korea are going to keep taking the blames even though the incident is something that can be investigated, since it's North Korea everyone will move on immediately without the need to investigate.
Or perhaps it is because the very nature of cryptocurrencies lies in the irreversibility of transactions, where the actual owner is simply the person who holds the keys? In other words, what is the point of investigations if it is impossible to identify the perpetrator (given the privacy and confidentiality inherent in cryptocurrencies) let alone recover what has been stolen?

It's time to consider using Passphrase on your recovery seeds or even consider Multisig.
There is no better solution that I can think about than these.
There is no such thing as a perfect solution (one that guarantees 100% security). However, it is possible to combine various solutions - in this case, different methods for storing cryptocurrencies.

With the rate at which we are beginning to experience all these hacks that is going on the the cryptocurrency world, if you ask me to begin sharing my Bitcoin to different exchanges I will say that, it's not a too good idea personally speaking. Since you don't even know the next place the attack can take place it's better that you keep your Bitcoin in one place.

Op your idea is a nice one but if you ask me I will say that, you are exposing yourself the more. What you should encourage people to do is to become more security concious when it comes to their wallet, such as handling of seedphrase. The part we will play in this is to make sure that we on our own end doesn't expose ourselves to fraudsters taking the security of our assets seriously. But what we should know is that hacking is beyond you, so whether you share your funds or not you don't know the next exchange that is going to be hacked.

North Korea do not welcome investigation by other governments if it does not affect their dictatorship hence they would not cooperate with other government because they are the ones that sponsored the hacking. Some time I use to think some of the hacking group used to use the well known styles of hacking by the Lazarus group so people do not bother coming after them after a hack but I got to realized that if you try to impersonate them then you become their target hence they are the ones doing all their hacking and always go free without any punishment. Centralized exchanges are the ones we should not be trusting but I think using non custodial wallets are still very safe to use.

Do we really expected North Korea to even accept that they are responsible for the hack. $6B is so large that they can use to cushion the sanctions they are struggling with. How many years has other countries left them behind, they are independently staying on their lane, they will never allowed a third party to come to their country and come do investigation, they will not even allow that investigation to be done because they don't trust any country.

Let's accept that the AI development has made hacking becomes easier, maybe it's time for us to use AI to improve our security or maybe we should go completely offline. Hackers can only access something they can remotely get through the internet, they can't access what is not reachable, so it's better we start doing this offline and we will be free from hackers.

Fact said because even if they are responsible they will never admit that they are responsible and their is no comment from them yet but in cases like this what do you think will happen but since they said some of the funds have been recovered and this will still not top it from happening again and even with the backwardness they still are able to do things like this, that is were the challenge is the country is not accessible, and since fingers are pointing at them what exactly will be the next move because this will not head anywhere  since it's north Korea.

Completely offline will be the best option because hackers are just looking for a small window and the moment they get that window then it is gone, using Ai to promote security will be the best, and by now Binance would have tighten their security the more because that I'd how it is suppose to be.

As far as I know, North Korea has denied the allegations and is calling the FBI's allegations provocative. Just because the country denies the allegations doesn't mean they are false, but on the other hand, if those making the allegations can't prove it, then it doesn't mean anything. In this age of technology, AI has both positive and negative effects. Hackers are quickly creating code and making it suitable for attack, and using AI, they are also getting ideas about possible attacks and suspicious individuals from a large number of logs. Hackers are also taking advantage of using AI, on the other hand, those in charge of security are also taking advantage of using AI.

In this age of technology, it is difficult to stay away from online. However, if a device is kept offline, it will be difficult to carry out cyber attacks from there. But there is no way to say that the device is completely safe just because it is offline. Those of us who want to secure assets must protect assets from hackers by increasing the awareness of those working on network security, data protection, AI security, authentication, and above all, in the interest of security in the modern era, proper awareness must be adopted in all aspects, otherwise the possibility of being hacked will be much higher.

Protecting crypto assets should be our main concern because no security can ensure wallet's safety completely. If anyone hold a decent share of bitcoin then it's best approach to separate the fund in different places, should use multiple cold wallets instead of keep everything in one place. Moreover using passphrase or multisign can provide extra security layer to authorize and execute transaction. Apart from that, it's also important to update security over time and keep calm while making decision to avoid unnecessary issues

I can't remember doing some mistakes while doing my personal wallet and if I didn't get hack all my years of storage of coins before AI, I don't think hackers will get into me. We blame AI and hackers forgetting that we did something that lead hackers to get to us. Binance was hacked last week and report that came out today proves that one of the employee laptop was exploited when one of the hacker disguise as a person that was looking job with the employee.

Hacker don't come from no where and then suddenly have access to keys. There is something that you must have done wrongly and once they have access to that thing they need from you, they will hack you and take what they need from you. If you don't use an internet, there is no way hacker will get to you except if you are attacked physically which in that case it's not hacker again, it's a robbery.
Most of the points are valid enough; people need to bring changes by themselves instead of fearing AI and possible hacks. All things are coming through insiders' help or links, but no one is giving this importance. They are always creating theories and having their own statements, which always stay on a level where things have never been easily manageable.

Hackers always use ways that are given by users, especially recently enough things happening through social media or different apps and messages, because now it's always easy to go through with them. People do not have enough awareness, which is not helping while they need to stay on a level where they can understand consequences, which always have problems for them living without internet. It has never been possible, so just try to live safely.

Cold storages are still safe. There is no need to split in two cold storages. Even one will work fine but we should never make a mistake of holding funds on exchanges or any hot storage. Anything that's connected to the internet can be hacked. No matter how many precautions you take, these hackers always find a way to get the information out of you. If you have 0.2 BTC, keep only what you might need to trade and remaining should be locked out in a ledger. Only you should be able to access those funds.

AI is still advancing. AI has impacted almost every industry and now just imagine, what it can do for these hackers or scammers? There are surely going to get more advanced so it is our duty to keep our funds safe.

The risk remains - even if technically it is already safe.
I agree with your last sentence - it is the duty of each user to secure his assets, whatever his choice. Anything you think is safe on the possibility still risky - so consider only investing an amount you can afford to lose. Storing assets on the exchange is not recommended option - not prohibited, but obviously high risk to the lose.

I think it's a good idea, if we compare it with how we safeguard our money in banks, we make sure that we don't just deposit in one bank, we divide our money if we have a lot and deposit it in different banks and even in different locations to ensure that if something happens to one bank, we still have others that are not affected.

I think what happened recently really serves as a lesson although we are not victims yet but we can learn how to minimize the risk.

good advice from OP
Keeping your assets separated in several places is definitely safe, be it Bitcoin or any other asset. Storing the entire amount in only one place is always risky. We used to believe that hardware wallets are never hacked, but hardware wallet hacking has proven that to be false. And centralized exchange platforms are occasionally hacked. And decentralized software wallets are also not guaranteed. In that case, the last option to be safe now is to store Bitcoins in multiple wallets. Then at least if one is hacked, you will not lose the whole thing. As technology is upgraded, cybersecurity is decreasing. And financial platforms are being hacked by breaking all kinds of security systems. Ai is helping a lot and in the future Ai will become an even bigger threat
