Sometimes honesty could be wrongly intended. If a user had a public transaction and reported an error, they could be doing so for fear of getting called out and distrusted by some. The user here did not face that risk. GoT and the support rep may have never communicated the exact amount, just that the issue has been fixed.

Kudos to Smartprofit for being honest here when it was not the only option and they were not going to be 'seen' being honest.

On the other hand, this story could actually backfire on the Bitz.io team; rather than promoting their service, it has exposed poor financial management within it.
I do not think so. If there was no mention about the deposit address changes, then I would have agreed with you but this total incident must have root-caused by the confusion with deposit address. I mean, that 0.01BTC might be belonging to some other account and might have credited to smartproft's account mistakenly. I remember when bitsler was upgrading their deposit address from legacy to segwit, I was given a used deposit address still not faced any issues with that. I am not saying there was absolutely no poor management but the incident started with change in deposit address and I thought that was the core reason for this.

Well done smartprofit, accept my appreciations.

Honest people are hard to come by these days. We have seen so many scammers in this space, it's nice to see an honest face in the crowd.
Maybe the ratio of user like what OPs talkign about in here is like out of 100 theres likely maybe 10 or 10% of it.  We have seen how many users tend to become scammer and its quite rare to see someone like that that arent gonna swayed by a $700 to $800 money that off sent accidentally. If its someone else who knows they could have just gone by quietly and dont mentioned it.

We usually create reputation threads to catch scammers, spammers, alt accounts, and address personal issues.
However, I am creating this thread to publicly appreciate a guy, which is Smartprofit.
Yes, you’re right. This section is most often filled with topics and posts of a negative nature. That’s why it would be good to mention positive things here more often.

But even in positive moments, people tend to find something negative. You’ll see what I mean below. Wink Is this a curse specific to this section? Smiley

However, Smartprofit later sent me a private message saying Bitz.io had actually credited him 0.01 BTC, which is approximately ~$770 at this moment, while his prize was actually $15.
Did he even have a choice? Wink

0.01 BTC is hardly the kind of sum for which one would sell their conscience reputation.

I wonder, though, what if the amount had been higher? Say, 0.1 BTC or 1 BTC?

In any case, had he kept quiet about it, the mistake would likely have come to light sooner or later.

I don’t mean to cast doubt on @Smartprofit’s actions, he did the right thing from a moral standpoint, but human beings are such creatures that their behavior can vary significantly depending on whether or not they are in the public eye.

The Bitz contact person then sent me a message appreciating the player, Smartprofit.
And so it decided to gift that very 0.01 BTC? Smiley

Quote from: Bitz
We appreciate his honesty. Not everyone would speak up if they received more than they were supposed to, especially when it’s a significantly larger amount. As far as I know, the team also rewarded him for his honesty.
So, his honesty yielded some (clean, untarnished) dividends in this instance? Smiley

So, I am creating this thread to spread some love and publicly appreciate his honesty.
What is our society coming to, when a perfectly ordinary action, the kind of morally sound behavior one would expect from anyone, is discussed as something extraordinary and held up as an example to follow? Have honesty and decency become that rare?

Well, at least everyone who said, "Wow, that's so cool!" considers this a rather rare act, apparently based on his own vision and maybe even behavior🙄. I already wrote above that this is normal. It is also normal that the hero of this "amazing" act remained modest and did not appear in this topic, bowing and collecting applause. But, yes, society becomes wild if it is surprised by decency.

By the way, there was another hero in our story on the forum to whom the admin mistakenly sent an amount of more than 700 bucks. He didn't have the rank of a legend and was still a rookie who had collected something like 200 merits. Of course, in the vision of many, he could simply "get lost" with such "prey."

Have honesty and decency become that rare?
Life in internet is completely different than what you described about.

Still, honesty must deserve appreciation both online and offline and even if it becomes a most common thing in day-to-day life for the sake of impressing the next gen because examples are powerful than just lessons.

Well done @Smartprofit!

Im glad that this is a post to appreciate someone because when I saw the post I thought it was a sarcastic post but it's a good thing the guy decided that his integrity and respect was more valuable than money. Thumbs up, brother.

In any case, had he kept quiet about it, the mistake would likely have come to light sooner or later.
I think it is likely not to have with the different persons involved in the process. If God of Thunder and his contact never spoke to the support member that fixed the issue they would likely never have gotten info of the exact amount. Casinos deal with so much money that it is easy for such an amount to go under the radar. The user can also feign to have not checked properly thinking the extra was from another bonus or promo they participated in.

This is one of those they could have been able to get away with.

I don't think it is that easy to get away with those money considering the professionalism reputation of the casino. He will start to review the account activity right after the user try to withdraw the money. I am not saying that smartprofit as a dishonest person since he volunteered to contact the manager, but nobody would risk his forum reputation built over years for $700. Now he won the prize in addition to the reward sent by the casino to thank him for credibility, in addition to high applause from bitcointalk community. This is much better than 700 bucks.

This an evidence of good reputation, if is not trustworthy he wont have informed you, if everyone will be transparent as the user you made mentioned, i think will be safe in this place...I could remember vividly when this kind think happened in one of your campaign i joined..I after I left the signature campaign about one or two weeks, i received a pm from you that funds were paid in the account i open with campaign and I asked you to tell the management to retrieve their funds...because I never access the casino account after I left the campaign, which the casino platform accessed the account and retrieve their funds...

Nothing is more than to be transparent, and also not be greedy to what belongs to another person...now you have attested to this user, because of his good doing...

I don't find this something extraordinary or an example to follow; I think the purpose of this thread was to let the community know about what happened and appreciate the action of Smartprofit. If you criticise someone for this, asking if honesty and decency became rare, then no one in the future would create a thread to appreciate anyone's decency and honesty. I see no harm in creating a thread appreciating someone's honesty.

nobody would risk his forum reputation built over years for $700. Now he won the prize in addition to the reward sent by the casino to thank him for credibility, in addition to high applause from bitcointalk community. This is much better than 700 bucks.
Yeah, but I have seen many high-ranked accounts default their loans for a few hundred dollars and never come back to the forum. If someone has bad intentions, they could say that I thought it was a bonus once get cought. I have never seen casinos creating scam accusations against a player when they abuse the casino. Have you seen any?

In the case of smartprofit, the casino will notice the manager GOT who will create the accusation thread if the user decides to get away with the money. The casino might not notice the mistake if the user will lose all the bets with the money, but once trying to withdraw, the account activity will go under review. Again I am not creating scenarios to accuse smartprofit of being dishonest, I guess he did what he did because he is a trustworthy person. Just discussing the situation from an unbiased perspective.
