Hello BitcoinTalk,

I’m introducing UNFTChain, an independent Layer 1 blockchain built around a fundamental question:

Can participation in block production be organised around unique people, instead of the amount of computing power or capital they control?

UNFTChain’s answer is Proof of Fairness (PoF), combined with ZKI, its privacy-oriented anti-Sybil identity system.

Why Proof of Fairness?

PoW and PoS use different resources to determine participation:

1. Proof of Work (PoW): Mining power depends on computational resources. On industrial-scale networks, specialised hardware and access to inexpensive electricity create substantial advantages.
2. Proof of Stake (PoS): Participation is weighted by stake. Larger holdings generally provide greater influence over validation and access to rewards.

Proof of Fairness takes a different approach: participation is based on unique people.

- One person, one mining identity: Participants operate under the same eligibility rules.
- Cycle-based participation: Once a participant produces an accepted block, their opportunity for that cycle is consumed.
- No computational arms race: Extra hardware or additional accounts do not multiply a person’s mining rights.

There is no predefined queue guaranteeing every participant a block within a fixed period. Connectivity, uptime and the protocol’s continuity mechanisms affect actual results.

Energy Efficiency by Design

PoF does not require competitive Proof-of-Work hashing, removing the incentive to deploy increasingly powerful mining hardware to obtain additional participation rights.

- Low computational requirements: Block production does not depend on continuous competitive hashing.
- Consumer Hardware & Android: PoF mining already runs on standard computers and Android devices, with Android nodes actively mining. The current public offering focuses on Linux and hosted nodes because app marketplace policies restrict the distribution of on-device mining applications.
- Reduced infrastructure requirements: Mining does not require specialised ASIC equipment or industrial cooling. Actual energy consumption depends on the device, workload and deployment.

Why ZKI Is Part of the Model

A person-based participation model needs a way to resist multiple identities controlled by the same operator—Sybil attacks—while protecting personal information.

- ZKI Identity Layer: Authorizes mining participation without publishing civil identity documents on the blockchain.
- License + Identity: Mining requires both an authorized license and a verified ZKI identity. These access requirements are designed to prevent a single operator from accumulating mining identities.

Network and Monetary Parameters

- Mainnet launched: 1 August 2026
- Native coin: UNFT
- Block cadence: 600 seconds
- Maximum supply: 18,000,000 UNFT
- Initial supply: 5,050,000 UNFT
- Initial block subsidy: 26 UNFT
- Subsidy reductions: Scheduled through halvings

Block subsidy allocation:

- 84.5% — block-producing miner
- 10% — Storage / W3 History
- 5% — PoRe verifiers
- 0.5% — burn

Initial Supply: Disclosed Upfront

We are not presenting this as a “no-premine” launch. The 5,050,000 UNFT initial supply is allocated to:

- Public airdrops: 2,000,000 UNFT
- Mining-node participation programmes: 1,000,000 UNFT
- External marketing: 1,000,000 UNFT
- dApps and ecosystem development: 550,000 UNFT
- Storage-node incentives: 500,000 UNFT

These are planned allocations, not a claim that every allocation has already been distributed. There is no founder allocation within the initial supply.

Current Development Stage

Mainnet launched on 1 August 2026, following three years of development and extensive testing, including more than 500,000 blocks produced on Testnet4. The Layer 1 consensus is operational on mainnet.

Some ecosystem services remain in testing. Storage and PoRe operate through an automated worker at the L2 service layer, with operation and reward distribution governed by the L2 protocol. Both are currently running on Testnet4 and are ready for deployment on mainnet.

Why “UNFT”?

We see NFTs as useful instruments for representing ownership, certificates, access rights and verifiable records.
Digital art is one application, but it is not the limit.
The protocol supports native NFT creation without locking funds in dedicated UTXOs. This functionality has been extensively tested on Testnet4.

I’m one of the project’s founders. I welcome technical questions and criticism, particularly regarding how PoF handles edge cases, ZKI identity dependencies, license requirements, and our ecological and economic trade-offs.
