WHAT IS A VAULT BREACH?

When a release window closes, any remaining pieces are sealed in the Finite Vault. Vaulted pieces are not relisted at retail.

A Vault Breach is the exception. For a limited window, tied to a date, anniversary or event connected to the work, select pieces come back out of the Vault.

- Pieces return at Vault price, not original release price
- Each breach states its own window and terms
- Unclaimed pieces return to the Vault when the breach closes
- Email subscribers are notified first

This thread is the permanent record of every breach.

VAULT BREACH 0 | The White Paper: Engraved in Brass, #17 of 21 | CLAIMED
Opened October 31, 2026, the 18th anniversary of the Bitcoin white paper.

A 6" x 6" solid brass sheet. The front carries the title and abstract of Satoshi's white paper, serial 17 of 21, the public address and a hologram-sealed private key (sealed 10/19/2025). The reverse carries the Genesis Block's Times headline, "Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks," set behind a gate with Buy Bitcoin.

- Edition: 21, plus one Artist Proof retained by Finite by Design
- Seal: First Bits Gen 1
- Funding: Unfunded
- Documentation: public address engraved on the piece for on-coin verification
- Display: black floating frame with stand

Serials 1-16 and 18-21 sold in the original 2025 release. #17 was held in the Finite Vault and released in Vault Breach 0. Its claim completed the edition.

Maker's note: engraved on brass sheet stock from Finite by Design's early laser period. The engraving is clean, but the sheet carries light blemishes typical of this material.
