After years of studying crypto, developing websites or tools (for other people by the way) I decided to become a full time developer in this field and I'm all on my own in most projects. In other fields, there are certain ways of getting into the field (I was teaching AI and computer vision way before ChatGPT, and the roadmap is a little different now since we have to teach people how to use agents/chatbots as well and the whole thing hasn't been changed much) and I'm sure there is same thing for crypto as well.

My problem (and a lot of people like me honestly) is being too misguided and there is always an area of questions in our minds. However, I usually tell people who want to learn machine learning that we start at a topic such as linear algebra, then we get into useful algorithms, etc. Or AI in general I ask what people want to build, a simple classifier or a language model? And guide them through language processing, image processing, computer vision, etc.

So I am familiar with concepts such as DeFi, NFT, DEX, Stable Coin, etc. I even built multiple projects, but I still don't know where I can join all this knowledge together and make it into a good idea, project, product or even startup.

So, I am all ears about your guidance.

What are you trying to accomplish exactly? The roadmap you're looking for crypto doesn't exist in the same way it exists for ML.

If you want to learn concept X, normally you just do a research around this concept, and try to build something on top of it. For example, do you want to learn about the lightning network? Read how it works, and setup a wallet.

Trying to learn all concepts related to "blockchain" is not productive and will not help you in any way per se. It's helpful to read something and go practice it; that's the only way to learn, in fact.

The mistake we often make is that we always think we are done learning when we are just starting, we also need to keep updating ourselves even after we already learned to a certain extent. No knowledge learnt is a waste. Even after you might have acquired knowledge to a certain extent, you still need to be informed of the recent updates and continue learning as well, because this is what builds our strong confidence in crypto.

You have got what is needed to succeed in this space ie the skills, I don't know your financial strength to finance a project, but that is secondary. What I underlined above is your greatest weakness. You can't be a one-man-squad and not get confused. You possess the skill, there are other people with the management skill, there is someone else with an idea but doesn't know how to bring it to reality. So, you need to network and organise like minds in the name of partners or team members, that is when you'll have a clear direction, either from you or your team members.

For instance, here in the forum, there is icopress, a well known and reputable promotion manager. There is BitList project, instead of being a one man army to run both the technical aspect of the project, Tryninja stepped in and the project is evolving and growing on a steady.

So I am familiar with concepts such as DeFi, NFT, DEX, Stable Coin, etc. I even built multiple projects, but I still don't know where I can join all this knowledge together and make it into a good idea, project, product or even startup.

Learning never end and nobody knows it all and the more we continue to stay in the market the more we know and understand more about the crypto space. Bitcoin is best asset to invest on in the crypto space, that's the only coin that is trusted and reliable to invest on, investing in bitcoin doesn't mean we must know everything before we can begin to invest in bitcoin, if you want to know it all it can't be possible because we keep learning as we keep buying bitcoin, and for any one to understand more about anything is to start up first, starting up means as you are learning you are also practicalising it.

Learning i know is a continuous process that has know ending until one is ready to quite from that specific path in question,  to an extent one may believe he has gotten to the climax point but can still be struck by a little mistake just because one is not open to keep learning.
The easiest path to perfection is continuous learning even after getting to the top because our competitors are not willing to quite pushing for our weaknesses.
On daily basis we are experiencing technological advancement that requires serious attention and learning to stay balanced to it and anyone not interested in learning may end up falling when the challenges comes.

Focus on your strength and what you want to do. Don't be confused with so many niches and choices that you're trying to pick.

Try to eliminate one by one of those niches and types of projects that you have as the least priority until you're drawn down to the last in the list.

I'll give you an hint, there's some vibe coder out there that have got tons of ideas too but he's narrowing it down slowly and making the most idea he's in love with into a reality.

Are you familiar with cryptography? Any developer out there with full knowledge of front-end and back-end can come up with a project and build a website for the project, but you will need a blockchain developer too to complete the project.

Also, finance is important. I read where a member said it's secondary. TBS, it's not secondary. To see investors out there that will see the vision of your project and invest in it these days is very hard.

Although been a developer is never my thing in the past and right now it still stays the same, how are you people coping with the availability of AI? Today it takes nothing to become a developer.

Everyone is developer right now because AI is capable of copying every codes and using them to create something new with different name, every machine learning is not easier and faster.

To even be a developer in crypto space today is too sad, even a 9 years old can use crypto platforms to generate a crypto project from start to the finish, this space is really done for.

You've talked so well and if I was in the shoe of Op, I'll really appreciate this piece of information and take it for a working documents in order to grow in the mindset and knowledge. Only then we can afford to explore with the skills we've acquired.
Some people may also be needed to go back in practice and revise or learn further from what have been thought in order to explore like a professional in the system!
If Op had the experience in the space he would definitely find his way where he's BEST fit on the crypto.
The technical board discussions would help optimize your mind too for better understand of how to really make yourself relevant by discovering what field that fits your knowledge
Highly professional level of knowledge is also required as a technician in the crypto industry.
