Politics is actually a game of interest and at such the tendencies of favouritism, betrayal and sentiments must always emanate from it.

Our everyday life and endeavours consist of politics, our behaviours and religious beliefs and conducts are also intertwined with some sort of politics and  you can't remove or stop politics or say politics is for a certain people. In the Vatican, the Pope emerges through a voting system, in the family settings the father allocates responsibilities to the children according to age and not just by ability. In the office, some people are overlooked when it comes to promotion not because they aren't due but because they are not the preferred candidates for some reasons that can be political, that how the society operates.

There is a clear difference between politics that is the natural part of human interaction and the politics that is there to justify favouritism that is there to justify betrayal and injustice . Look, politics is a game of interests and it is a political game because it takes the place of others. If someone comes to politics, then he must be selfish. A person who cannot be selfish will not have any ability to do politics. This a good description of Nigerian politics, sometime you go as far to campaign you even risk your life fight, argue, with your family, in fact sometime you even go as far to spend your own money, you even follow up and down then when they win they forget you.

The fake promises of good opportunity the jobs contract, scholarship, appointment they gives to there children, there wife, there relatives, there girlfriends. The people who fought for them get nothing, or they get little as $5 and thank you.

What you are trying to imply is that everyone practicing politics is an evil person?

It could be the mentality of developing countries. Because in most countries, a good person can be in politics without doing evil. He uses his wisdom and diplomacy to campaign. Eventually, the masses will see the good and vote for him.

Human decisions and actions are driven by interest, and while you want to talk about a perfect State where fairness and justice prevails absolutely, I would quickly remind you that no such modern States exists. In any society there would be some situation when favouritism may override but it only becomes a problem to bother about when it eventually becomes a common culture in the selection and appointments of persons to qualified positions. Even in the best democracies, favouritism exists, that's still politics.

The life of a politician is not an easy one, politics is a game of interest and you don't go into politics without having nothing to do as a person, you must have a second address.

You can be in the party or following your master or leadership but when it is time to favor you, they can decide to call and make use of the next person, knowing fully well that you have been in the system for a long time.

The party leaders can always remember you when it is time to organize things, do all the hard work. You will be called upon to deliver all the messages but simply because maybe you don't have B'sc. They will now bring in their own personal person and fix in your place, not minding that they have used you for years with fake promises.

You are very right. And I have two perspective regarding your topic and I will explain it with two practical examples.

Mr Imran khan was the prime of minister of Pakistan since 2018 till 2022. As he was too straight, he started criticising the establishment knowing that the establishment is operating Pakistan since its independence and that's why he got jailed. The negotiations were offered, like leave this country and go to a country that you like but he refused and recently he was diagnosed with few severe diseases. It happened to him because he was unaware of the dirty games of the mafia setting on the top.

The second example is of Suhail afridi who was from the same party and Imran khan the ex PM announced him to be the chief minister of KPK and he started a protest campaign three months ago unaware of the game of politics he got arrested last month and is disappeared since then.

So the conclusion is simple politics isn't for everyone. It is full of twist and turns. You need to have mood swings and sometime you need to apply hypocrisy on your personality as well even if you are not. Analyze and anticipate the pros and cons and then enter in to this field.

Personally I don't like politics and I can't bring myself to go into something that will rot your mind and soul, a game of interest and a system that is so corrupt where as a leader you are not even allowed to carry out the duties of a leader effectively without being threatened. Politics nowadays is just for political power and being in cartel once you're not in that cartel and you don't carry out the things from your precious leader who thinks they hold power they remove and replace you anytime, disgrace and even open secrets that's being shared between the parties. If you don't have a thick heart you can't go into politics because even if you're a good person it takes a lot to keep you going as a lot of opposition will be here and there to make sure they pull you out or you join them in their cartel.

The way I see politicians and how they live I just realised that I can't even venture into it, late nights, threat, lies, deceit, bribery and selfishness and as a person I value my peace of mind and that my peaceful sleep to anything I don't want a situation where my life will be surrounded by thugs, securities because of fear.

Being a politician is not an easy task most especially in countries where there is high corruption and elections malpractices that effect the way leaders are elected and how they govern the nation and they regions, this make the job of a good politician to be hard or even impossible in some instances, and this is the reason why most straight forwards and gentle people avoid political engagement of any nature to not get their minds and thoughts stained with the pollutions that comes with politics.
