I've always believed that no amount of money will ever be enough, no matter the pay, we will always want more and that is fine because it is human nature after all. In terms of wealth creation investing isn't as valuable as increasing your earning power and proper money management. Even if this question is directed to a wealthy man, his answer will be, he wants more, so will my own answer be different, I'm from a country where inflation has dealt so much blow with our currency, it has lost its value so much that purchasing power amounts to nothing, so my earnings aren't that much to cover up many things that I need but there's a saying in my local language that one has to cut his coat according to his size, as long as I can carter for somethings especially my essential needs to some extent and still do my DCA with my discretionary income, i will continue to seek for more improved sources of income, and also plan on how to set up a good business that will bring profits for me.

I think we need to start with ourselves and our capabilities. To invest to must have a sort of capital base or atleast create a plan by which you will from your earnings start investing in bits but this route can be frustrating sometimes unless we are looking at a long term bases for the investment. And for a country that has been eaten up by inflation, and your monthly income can hardly even get you through to the month end, you need the grace of God to invest in such situations. So my advice will be that, we scale up and skill up first, so that this skills will put one in a better earning position after a short while and from there, one can now discipline by taking the increase in pay and invest it. As the reality is you need to earn well to invest towards the future. Although earning well too can be relative which is where discipline comes to play.

It depends on your niche for instance if you're doing a 9 to 5 and looking for an alternative source of income it's best to do something that you resonate with and won't find it stressful but rather enjoyable... Learning a skill that would become service to others is a good idea... If you're able to learn some kind of tech related skill, there are lots of people looking for service providers online and this doesn't disturb your 9 to 5...

As humans we have that natural greed in us that makes us not to be contented with what we have, so we will always want more. It is very difficult for someone to grow financially when the person is restricted to basic income. As humans , we have many responsibilities, not only our immediate family. The reason why you shouldn't depend on basic income is because if you are young, you can actually work with your strength, and fetch for yourself, but when you are aged you need passive income to sustain yourself. However this passive income can not be achieved by working to earn salary.

The average individual isn't really comfortable with his or her income, comfort only comes when you are wealthy but for someone who is still accumulating wealth I don't think you are in a place of comfort yet. I know some persons probably might have been born with a golden spoon as such they do not really have much responsibilities and bills to pay but trust me even with that they still will want to accumulate more wealth and diversify there sources of income that's because human wants are insatisfyiable.

The only way to increase your income is either through investment or having multiple source of income. What is actually killing some people's wealth is poor management and extravagant spending. If you feel too comfortable with your basic income, you will be just one step away from poverty because you will only be taking care of your needs with no extra money to invest in any of the business you decide to venture into.
