The Ford Edsel, released in 1958, was known as the most over-hyped car launch in history. The manufacturer estimated sales of 200,000 per year, but their peak was 60k the first year, discontinued two years later. Reason: Eisenhower Recession
The Tesla CyberTruck has a worse record. In 2023 Elon predicted 250K - 500K per year. First year only 40k, dropping in 2026 they have sold less than 6,000 - MOSTLY TO ELON'S OWN COMPANIES. Reason: Mistrust You cannot believe anything the guy says.
