Because when a trader loses it trades when trading it creates a mindset of frustration in the traders mind that makes the trader to start chasing its losses by risking more funds to place more impulsive trades just to recover back it loss funds. This situation makes the trader to be so addicted to trade due to how desperate he is to trade back his lost money at all costs. And also since the trading market operates 24/7 with non stop and it never closes it makes traders to trade on a regular basises any time they want which results to placing frequent unplanned trade out of excitement because the trading market is always open and active anytime, any day they want to have access to it to trade which at the end will make them become so addictive to trading.
So I think trading can be addictive just like gambling.

Do you agree with me that people can get addicted to trading just like gambling or You don't agree?
Share Your own opinions and thoughts.

Trading like gambling is very addictive because it is about profit and loss. Especially when someone does futures trading or leverage trading, it becomes very addictive for him because there he can increase his small amount of capital several times along with profit and loss. This makes him very addicted because he sees that if he trades $100 with 10x leverage, his trade amount is $1000 and by taking such a large amount of trade, he can easily increase his capital quickly if he can trade correctly. This kind of opportunity makes him very addicted to trading. Due to which he loses control over himself and spends a lot of time there. And in this case, he cannot make a profit on average but loses a lot of money. However, despite losing, he cannot stop trading because he gets used to it and it becomes his addiction.

We all have different opinions about this but for me it depends on how you see trading. If you are a trader with a psychology of a true trader, you most likely have good patience and calm mind on your trades, you won't chase losses or having rush decisions, every step is planned and has logic behind it. It's unlikely that you will get addicted to it since you have a mind conditioned to do calculated moves.

Winning is addicting and doing it on trading, it's much more addicting since it shows the fruit of hard work in studying and experimenting you did. Though being addicted on trading doesn't mean they are always winning, there are people who are getting addicted because they keep chasing their losses and not realizing that they are addicted.

Addiction can happen to you basically on anything, it must not necessary be a good or head thong but just as far you do that thing multiple times, you're prone to addition and that's also why too much of everything is bad. As little as drinking of water is, you can be addicted to that and addiction isn't a positive habit to have  irrespective of what you're getting addicted to. It can start as a harmless habit that you're developing then it turns harmful before you realize so it's always best to tackle adduction from the moment you begin to notice a pattern before it's too late. Trading and gambling have numerous similarities so obviously there's always going to be the risk of an addiction in both activity. Trading deals with money and chasing after money is one of the top reasons why people become addicted. Trading addiction is just as worst as gambling addiction is.
Yes I agree; I have an addiction to drinking Coca-Cola, for example, something I did not see in many people. Sure, a lot of people have addictions to gambling, drugs, even smoking cigarettes, or drinking booze. But I do not see many people with a Coca-Cola addiction. Yet, I have it, and it is weird, but it is the same psychology behind it. We do it because it makes us feel like we are doing something and not that complicated or weird. We can't really see this changing all that much; we have to accept the fact that there is something in our brain,  no idea what it is, but there is something that makes it easier for us to get addicted.

Gambling addiction is not longer a news and a careful and free minded look on trading will reveal the excellent percentage similarities between trading and gambling. So if gambling is addictive, trading is addictive also as another form of gambling. Trading can so take over someone's mindset that they'll do no matter what. Just like in gambling, many has sold their hard earned resources for the sake of trading and that's out of addiction "trading being in control of your reasoning". Trading can be highly addictive.

The way most people see trading is completely different from how it’s suppose to be. Some people are into trading because they are after quick profits, people like this are not always having patience when they trading, they don’t even have proper knowledge about trading. Immediately they start losing from trading, they get frustrated and will want to recover the amount which they have lost.

Some of them even go to the extent of borrowing money just to trade, they are always thinking if they make some profits, they will return the money which they borrow, if people like this end up losing money, they will be frustrated, and will want to do everything possible to recover their loss. People like this will end up getting addicted to trading, and they going to lose more money.

Yes, there are some similarities between gambling addiction and trading addiction. Both of them are about profits-losses, people trying to recover losses, and people become addicted because they do it in an excessive way. But this may happen because those people are lack of understanding about trading. So, they assume trading can treat as gambling. Meanwhile people who understand trading, they won't do it same as gambling. So, they won't be addicted as in gambling.

Trading can be addictive, but that is not because it has lot in common with gambling. As a few member have already pointed out, just about anything can become addictive. It's not limited to gambling, and trading, or other money related activities.

Someone who's addicted to trading isn't necessarily lacking understanding either. Even an expert can get hooked once they slowly lose control over their trading, feel the urge to open positions and chase that rush every time the market gets volatile...

It's a self control problem, not just a matter of knowledge or experience.
