What gave you your reason to care about Bitcoin beyond the price?
The freedom
Decentralization
Valuable assets
Secured network
Good store of value
Anti-Inflation proof
Transparency
Immutability
Let me just stop here, all these are many more are the reason why I will rather prefer to choose bitcoin than continue to operate under a centralized network controlled by the government, anyone that truly wants freedom will have it financially with Bitcoin, this is why it is not mandatory to adopt it except you see a need to embrace decentralization for freedom.
I never did care about Bitcoin even when I had a friend who was years ahead in its knowledge and investment process that he made money from it. My own conviction came as at a time when salary became too little because of rising inflation, savings diminished in the bank and anyone with your account or bank verification details could easily see your balance and rate you instantly.
It's at this point I understood the essence of decentralization, good store of value, freedom from financial gatekeepers who own my money and can decide when to give me access to it or not, and that was when I delve in to survive both for my self respect and peace of mind and for my future.
Escaping a system controlled by the government made it more interesting to me and I can be in my sitting room any day and anytime and earn in Bitcoin or trade for Bitcoin and no one keeps a lid on my financial life nor rates me based on my account balance.
That's when I realized how much worth Bitcoin has till date.
