What gave you your reason to care about Bitcoin beyond the price?
If we remove the price from the picture, Bitcoin is still powerful in the sense that no one can print more than 21 million Bitcoins, let alone control it. Your number of Bitcoins is your Bitcoin, and it can not be taken away from you or frozen if you have it in your custody(crypto wallet)
However, the real reason why I can choose Bitcoin any time, any day is because of the freedom it brings. The government can't give such freedom without aiming to be in control
