People gamble because there is a promised chance of winning.  That alone can imply that all people who gamble have a desire to profit.

People may claim that they are gambling for fun and may deny that they are not into profit but a deeper understanding of why people gamble and the thing behind this fun shows that it is the chance to win a reward that makes a person excited, and  the almost hit makes the person more excited.  That excitement shows whether the person is having fun or not.

So we really cannot remove the fact that people gamble because of the desire to get the reward, and in the process of getting it, the person experiences fun.

Well, I usually think about horse race betting, where a lot of millionaires come to see the race and bet on their profits. They all come for fun, right? But they are always trying to win their bets, and sometimes they are worried. If those millionaires who are playing for fun also want profits, then who are the other gamblers? I placed a bet on my favorite team in football match, it would certainly feel great if they won.
But losing doesn’t mean that entire purpose of my entertainment has been defeated.

If you start taking on greater risks in an attempt to recover your initial capital when no profit is being generated, that could be a cause for concern.

And you're never going to avoid loss, that's just not any realistic expectation.

You can gamble for fun and still chase profits for sure, infact you summed it up really well because actually no one enters gambling without the desire to make quick money even the rich that gamble, they do so, so that they can have 2x 0r 3x than they currently have, so for sure the desire to win is already there and to an extent it is that desire that will motivate you to take certain risk when gambling, so the control of such motivations from your desire, thats what differentiates an addicted gambler and someone playing for the fun of it even while still making profits.
I like the list you added there, because i always say you must define what you want to loose because once you transfers funds to your gambling account, automatically assume all is gone until you can transfer money back into your main account, only then can you say you either made profit or you didnt lose everything, like you survived $300 out of $5,000 that you originally funded.

That’s right. Having fun doesn’t mean one cannot make some extra bucks on the process. The most important thing is not letting the desire for profits to push pass the original desire to have fun and entertainment. Because as long as you’re able to do that, I mean always keeping your original motive for gambling by heart, it becomes difficult to get distracted or drift off course, regardless of the outcome or position that the game decides to take.

Many people enter gambling with many different motives, but only those who can gamble for the sake of gambling are able to gamble for a long time. I have seen many people gamble but their behavior is very different, many people hit their heads when they don't win and there are many gamblers who just try to pass the time by smoking and drinking alcohol, thinking that they have faced losses. Maybe they can't bear the pain of losing money, which is why they are responsible for their situation.

I cannot agree with your view that gambling for fun is always safe. And desire to make profit inevitably leads to bankruptcy. Even someone who gamble for fun can lose sight of their limit. And, some may choose to play with expectation of profit while still adhering to specific bankroll and risk limit. These cannot be verified under guise of motivation. Rather, the point to observe is how well the player is able to control their own behavior.
