Then the world will be a pretty boring place. No more custom PCs, or choosing your favorite specs, buying those parts, assembling everything by hand, and finally firing up the thing that made you feel good/alive. Man, there is no fun without customizing a PC! You have also done that right?

Interesting point.   When the AI crash happens, video cards will also crash - hard.   There will be such a large number of powerful cards being dumped all at once that manufacturers won't be able to sell their stock at their normal price.   My computer is 7 years old, but still works great - I plan for the future.

I'm wondering what I'm supposed to do with all these old PCs I have piling up with outdated hardware...  I have a basket full of DDR3 ram that I guess I'm just going to throw away?  I have lots of old motherboards and CPUs...  The hard drives I destroy and the GPUs are easy enough to sell...  What do people do with their old cables, cases, motherboards, ram, etc.?  I feel like the worst person ever throwing all this stuff in the trash, but I'm not going to deal with eBay to sell a bunch of outdated stuff that will end up with me making a few cents per hour for my effort...

You can use them as cold storage for your coins, especially since older hardware is starting to look more attractive than this shiny, new vulnerable stuff being sold now.

There are solutions to this problem. You can download more ram here. I actually went to that site and downloaded a Dodge Ram and the next day after downloading, I had a Dodge Ram parked in the garage.

But now that winter is coming, we can all train AI at home for a little bit of heat to make it warmer. After all, the only approved ways of staying warm in the winter are cryptocurrency mining where the mining algorithm is designed to solve an important scientific problem, training AI, and doing exercises like lunges, stair climbing, push ups, sit ups, etc.

I don’t want any more PCs in my house. I have so many parts from my early mining days it has gotten insane. I should’ve given out sticks of ram for Halloween. One cool thing about the rise of AI is that you won’t need to constantly be upgrading your hardware. You can just let the data centers deal with it.

As someone whose been in computers since 1983, there is nothing that needs to be thrown away.  I've had my house wired with automation and cameras powered by old cells phones for over a decade now. 

The worst part of AI will be stealing all the local processing so you can't even open notepad without an internet connection.  No thanks.
