I'm waiting for this AI craze to end so that I'll afford to get myself a few mining ring, a local AI rig and a gaming PC.
I don't think it'll end any sooner! It's just the beginning I believe.

I have a basket full of DDR3 ram that I guess I'm just going to throw away?
That would be a terrible thing to do!

As someone whose been in computers since 1983, there is nothing that needs to be thrown away. I've had my house wired with automation and cameras powered by old cells phones for over a decade now.
I have an old laptop (that I used to access the forum with), but now I don't use it on regular basis cause the display is partically damaged (like 10-20% of it, filled with white lines), and I was thinking how to re-purpose the thing. Wanted to make an airgapped devices, physically taking out the network cards, but didn't know how. Now it just sits idle in a corner taking dusts.
Nowadays, whenver I need to test out a new flavour of Linux, I use that laptop.

@OP
You know what they say. If you can't dodge it, ram it.

The RAM mentality. Literally.
