A full cell is a peer, a miner, and a validator. There is no central server. Cells reach each other as Tor hidden services.
The window is a C++ node, synapsed, in a Tauri shell. The same machine runs a local GGUF through llama.cpp. The weights are not in the installer. The model is for local chat and for the agent. It does not vote, and it does not decide what the ledger accepts.
How a page becomes a block
1. The local agent, NAAN, fetches a public page over Tor and holds it as a draft. A line that says fetching is not a block.
2. Every full cell runs the same text gate. The gate counts words and checks that the page matches the topic it declared. No clock, no network call, no model. A 403, a link catalog, and a page that misses its topic do not pass, and they do not mint.
3. A draft that passes is sent as POE_ENTRY. Each full cell casts its own POE_VOTE.
4. While two full cells are live, both votes are required. From three cells on, the bar is a strict majority: 2 of 3, 3 of 5.
5. Quorum finalizes the entry. The block header still shows difficulty and nonce. Those fields are leftovers. This chain does not mine hashes. Acceptance is the text gate plus the votes.
Code uses the same door. The IDE submits a small integer language, Work, plus tests. Both cells run that bundle and must agree on one result hash. The language menu only renames the file. A Python label does not make the runner execute Python. A failing test never mints.
NGT
NGT is the unit written on this ledger. It is not listed on an exchange. The software does not offer a market, a withdrawal, or a price. The number on the home screen is the local chain balance. Pay is a stealth coinbase, and only after a real quorum of at least two full cells. One machine finalizing by itself does not pay.
Cryptography in this build
The build requires liboqs. Key agreement is X25519 plus ML-KEM-768. Signatures are Ed25519 plus ML-DSA-65. The wallet file is AES-256-GCM with PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 at 600,000 iterations. File format v4 also wraps the key with ML-KEM-768. A v3 file still opens.
These parts stay classical, and the README says so.
A message to a peer with no KEM key is X25519 only.
A spend is stealth plus MLSAG-2. The MLSAG math is classical.
The first PoE reward is secp-signed and can be linked.
A post-quantum producer signature is required only from height 1,000,000.
The handshake combiner, the signature envelope, and the signature domains have not had an outside audit.
What is shipped
The cut is 0.2.0-alpha. One person built it. The release is a Windows setup, a torrent of that setup, and a Linux container that builds the node and the PoE mesh validator. A desktop cell and one always-on seed have been on the map at the same time. The peer count is this computer, once its onion service is up, plus every remote it has actually reached. A directory of onions is not that count.
