I keep feeling like someone well known other than North Korea is behind that Binance attack, and this news just proven that I might be wrong after all. When you are accusing someone or a country, when the remain silent it's likely they are the culprit, but in the case of North Korea they have never fought for themselves over these accusations until now. Even FBI investigation said they are responsible, how so? Any proof? None I guess. And why the Midterm election period? https://x.com/BitcoinNewsCom/status/2117552949467677016?a=Ybegy2DtimkUdVp9yf8&s=19Why is Trump silent about it? If that 6 Billion was stolen from US will he kept quiet? So unlike him. CZ doesn't even seem pissed about it, he want the SAFU fund to replace it sharply. Isn't this the case of more than meet the eye?

Well I don’t know how you expect CZ to react towards this, maybe go to all socials and be making noise about how badly he’s been hurt by this hack. Technically, it’s no longer the CEO of Binance and so it’s not in his place to call the shots; except maybe he’s still the underground Boss, but even at that, there isn’t still much he can do here.
About the accusation, I’m pretty sure that if the accusations were false, I mean the FBI accusing North Korea to be responsible for the hack, it wouldn’t just be Kim Yo Jong (whoever that is) alone that’ll be speaking out or debunking the accusations. I’m not saying it’s true or false, because just like you said, the FBI didn’t give any solid evidence to back their claims, (or maybe it’s classified information) so for all we know, it could be true, and it could still be false…

Not just you but I guess everyone that’s into bitcoin and crypto feels that way too. But North Korea have aways been victimized after attack like this. And it’s fair to see Kim react this way. Why is Trump silent about it? If that 6 Billion was stolen from US will he kept quiet? So unlike him.
Why must trump say anything? Does he own Binance, is Binance his responsibility? Yes if the $6b was stolen from US treasury he has to speak, but for this case it’s has no business with trump and he mustn’t say anything for it to be fixed. CZ doesn't even seem pissed about it, he want the SAFU fund to replace it sharply. Isn't this the case of more than meet the eye?
I don’t get it exactly, you want him to come to media and be saying a lot of things that might end up damaging the reputation of the company? Even if you’re hurt you need to be calm in addressing the situation, and that was exactly what the Binance team did.

I find other opinions that North Korea is only used as a scapegoat, what if behind the hacking there are other actors for example involving Mossad agents and their allies to fund their wars in the Middle East. There are always some possibilities that we don't know about let alone that the media is controlled by the US, so they can easily shape public opinion. Remember information in the current era is an instrument of power so do not stop at one version of the narrative, at least it should make several possibilities to be more balanced.

Without concrete proofs about where these hackers were emanating from and if they are all from the same source everything flying around now are just accusations which we as observers have to wait and see how it unfolds. We're not among the intelligence teams of investigators so let's not be too fast to point fingers, it might later come out that neither north Korean leaders or American leaders, were a part of these heists, it could be some high tech geniuses in one remote place that are causing havocs on these platforms.
Personally I don't believe the supposed allegation from the north Korean leader, American confiscation of stolen Bitcoin is not a concrete evidence to accuse them of being behind those hacks, those Bitcoin were seized from criminals. I don't expect Trump or CZ to be making a lot of noise about the Binance hacks, they are probably waiting like all of us to know for certain the locations and identities of these (criminals) hackers.

Who told you that CZ is not worried? Have you seen how many post he has been making since the incident happened? CZ wants the customers to get back their funds because they made that assurance to their customers, that if such thing happened that they will get refunded with the SAFU money. They already made the arrangements for it. For him asking that the SAFU money should be used to replace the stolen funds, is not a valid reason for you to say that he is not concerned or worried about the stolen funds.
As for the tweet, I can that the two countries are now getting into pointing fingers at each other. No country want to be paint black in the media. Especially with something that is associated with the biggest theft known to mankind. What we want is evidence because evidence don’t lie. “He who accuses should be able to provide evidence” As for now anybody is guilty till the culprits are caught.

I traced the original source of this tweet (1) (with the help of Grok)because I questioned its originality, JUST IN: 🇰🇵 North Korea says international sanctions do not work. The statement comes just one day after North Korea's $6.3 billion Binance crypto hack, the largest heist in human history.
and it turns out it actually comes from a statement issued by North Korea via their state media (2). Indeed, North Korea may not have explicitly claimed responsibility for the hacking, but we can grasp the intent behind this statement. You should read more about the Lazarus Group (3) and how nearly all intelligence and analytics firms link those major hacks to North Korea. 1) https://x.com/i/status/21162797740795990862) https://oananews.org/node/7145343) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lazarus_Group

CZ is a businessman and as the major shareholder of Binance, he has to reach decisions faster to save the company. If business continues, they'll make the money back in less than a year. It was stated by the CEO that their profits for this year is more than enough to cover for the loss. If they took longer to resume operations, more people might lose confidence in the exchange. I'm not totally dismissing the involvement of any government in the recent attacks, the attacks looks more coordinated than accidental, judging from the number of financial institutions getting hacked on a daily basis. We've had this discussions of the forum and would be watching closely when governments start confiscating stolen funds tracked to hackers after a while and adding to their reserves We know very well that freezing illicit funds doesn't necessarily mean it would be returned

We always assume that SAFU funds will cover the losses but in reality, SAFU funds are not more than $1 billion. Binance being able to cover the losses of their clients is because they are very profitable, because if not they would have already collapsed. Another hack of that amount, I think they can still cover it since they have been in the business for a long time, so they surely have a lot of cash reserves, and in 2024–2025 their reported estimated profit was around $17 billion, so judging by that, I would say they are liquid enough.

Since the global economy and politics are involved in such incidents, no party may actually want to provide accurate information, considering many things. And in many cases, real information is not available. Now, many times, they do not want to provide detailed investigation reports or do not reveal the real truth, because this may reveal any weaknesses. However, I think Binance will give a clear statement on this matter about what actually happened. And I think they should disclose how this hacking happened, where the weaknesses in the security system were, and what kind of steps they are taking to avoid bigger security risks in the future. Only then can people's trust be restored.
Just compensating the CEO for all the funds will not solve the issue. To ensure that customers will use their platform as before, we must also give a correct idea of how strong the security system has been to ensure that these issues are not violated. And even if it is possible to verify which wallet the crypto funds were taken into, it is not possible to know which person or organization actually owns the wallet. However, there may be someone behind this. But to say whether there is direct government intervention or not, proven information has to be published. So any party could be involved. Getting accurate information is becoming more difficult here.

Some hackers will come both lead to the internet and declare the being responsible for a particular attack, while it has happened in several locations as well that you see no one claiming responsibility, but all this doesn't matter as well as taken our time to investigate on the matter when we should see why people should understand the risk in using a centralized exchange.

You're also wrong about North Korea not defending themselves over these accusations until now. North Korea has always put out a statement claiming otherwise even if it was quite obvious they're the culprit. This statement put out by the sister of the leader is no different than their previous denials. As to why Trump is mostly silent about openly blaming the North Koreans, perhaps he doesn't want to offend Kim, who he thinks is a friend. Then again, it's not unlike him at all. You'll not catch Trump heavily criticizing Netanyahu, Putin or Kim Jong Un even if his own intelligence agencies link them to a particular attack or crime.

I have come to see the reoccurring patterns in cases like this, when things like this happens, all fingers point to North Korea because they seem to be the common bad guy painted by this media conglomerate all controlled by the government, it's funny how we don't even get independent information anymore and this hacks has shown how the United States refuses to take responsibility for their inadequacies

People are only suspecting North Korea and there's no proof or evidence that points to Lazarus Brothers as the hackers. I think, we're just assuming. If other related hack was connected to Lazarus Brothers why haven't them be held responsible for these hacks and make them pay for it. This is the question that has been in my head for so long and that makes me believe, it might be false accusations.
What do you want the US to do, come out and show their innocent to the public or what. They choose to be silent because it's just an accusation without any facts.

@Lontor, Trump is not silent, you made a mistake about that probably because your have not checked to see that Trump was not actually silent about the binance hack. Based on the report I saw online, he already made a comment about the hack when he was asked by reporters whether the hack was done by North Korea or not and he said, we don't know, we are looking at that. " "We are looking at it, " Tells a lot in my opinion, if there's any help they can offer, I am sure they will and will not come public to say everything while investigation is still on going.

When other exchanges were hacked, within a very short period, we realized who is behind it and currently binance have not come out to mention names. I was not comfortable with this respond because North Korea have been pointed hand to, in the past they could not be able to defend them which shows clearly that the were involved. But as for binance I think it is a different dimension which was why they media are now pointing fingers at North Korea and North Korea has come out to defend themselves. I am just waiting to see how this whole incident happened, I will give them few days to see what binance will say about the issue.

That is some top level movie material right there op. I get that Trump is crazy enough to try something like this due to midterm related reasons or something, but it's a stretch especially considering the fact that North Korea have a problematic hacking history.
For all we know, Kim Jong Un might have personally led this operation for financial reasons. These are all just baseless accusations at the end of the day. Interesting thing here is that both North Korea and Russia are allies and both protect hackers to a certain degree.

It is wrong to accuse someone of a crime without any proof or evidence and the fact that they didn't respond to the accusations doesn't mean they actually committed the crime. The fact that CZ does not react to the situation the way you want doesn't mean that he knew those who is actually behind the attack. The best reaction is just to strengthen binance security and to look for ways to prevent such scenarios from occuring in the future. There is a way CZ would have reacted and it may like cause more damage to binance. As of Donald Trump not reacting to the situation doesn't mean that US is responsible for the attack. Another thing I want you to understand is that binance was not hacked directly but rather it was their employee system that was compromised which this can likely be done by someone that is close to the employees or due to the employee carelessness.

You guys want Trump to say something on everything, the Brazilian election was concluded everyone wanted to hear from Trump, Israel election everyone wants to hear from Trump now this you want to hear Trump, he isn't the CEO of binance, Trump isn't obligated to make any statement concerning this because binance is a Crypto-currency platform and not a united state platform. Also I don't agree with your logic in this post you can't determine who is guilty and who isn't by your logic, right now North Korea is the suspect right now of high significance but investigation is still going on.

It's highly possible that the culprits will not be found, if it is a sophisticated nation state - whether that's North Korea or the US, it's definitely conducted by professionals. This was not a lone operator but involved a team level of planning to orchestrate so seamlessly. They executed it in quick and concise steps that where premeditated to extract maximum value. Of course if it was North Korea they would try to distract attention, it is after all the biggest bank heist in history and they don't want to tarnish their name as just a bunch of thieves. They are an incredibly poor country so this is a very useful amount of money to them, but for the US it is almost an insignificant amount that they probably burn through in less than a day (maybe an hour) in their governmental budgeting. The execution suggests that they probably tried to clear and cover their tracks, but you can bet that there will be the odd clue left behind. The SAFU fund can take a hit, but how many can it take and now confidence in Binance is rattled customers may never return after withdrawing.
