Price action this year has been pretty challenging. I don't know if I'm the only one who's noticed this, but it feels like the market has been full of manipulation lately. Key levels don't seem to hold anymore, OBs fail, etc.

I got frustrated and stopped trading for about three months. Then I came across a thread on Reddit about how trading communities can help build confidence, offer different perspectives on the market, and help traders connect with like-minded people.

I thought about it and decided to join a few communities. I've learned about confirmation entries as a way to improve my win rate, and we also push and encourage each other whenever we don't hit stop losses😃

The point of this post is: Do you think joining a trading community can improve your market insight and win rate, or is trading alone the better option?

Yes, I've actually benefitted from trading as a community. For years I've traded alone and at some point shared my analysis and setup with friends who needed signals but recently I've faced similar issues as OP started. I finally have I'm and joined a community of traders run by my good friend and so far I've shared my market sentiment, I've been able to see the market from the eyes of other talented analysis in the community and more intriguing for me is I got to learn fundamental analysis and how to trade effectively using the news.

It's been a transformative experience for me.

but it feels like the market has been full of manipulation lately.

It was not gone and I think it's even worse now as institutional investors are playing us plus those insider traders fed by the government. though it's just speculation but I believe it's still that way. you should get yourself used to it as crypto hasn't changed and it's usually why it's exciting to be here.

It is not bad to join a community, but avoid paying for anything, like trading signals. Anything like that is a scam.

Been there, done that. Improvement comes from our understanding of market conditions. You may join a good trading community, but if your decisions are only based on others' insights without doing your own research, then it won't last long. You may end up with some losses and start thinking the community is really bad. The challenge here is how to find a good and supportive community, and how to learn from and use their insights in your decision making process.

Trading alone could be a good choice too when you already have everything you need to make good trading decisions. Trading alone = less noise. Less noise means a more focused mind to process all the data you have and make decisions.

What I am trying to say here is that both trading alone and joining a trading community still depend on your knowledge and understanding of market conditions.

You mean the market is being manipulated? By who?Huh

The market is not being manipulated, and if there is a simple strategy that has helped me immensely this year, that would be the price action strategy. But it depends on how best we know and use it.

Both are good depending on the source of your learning and the leading voice of the trading community you joined. If they are bunch of losers, forget about it. Also, the task description of the community matters a lot. So if they are such that are issuing signals directly, mehn, it might confuse you a lot. But when it comes to chatting and educating about trading; sharing trading resources amongst yourselves, yes of course, it would helpful.

Joining a trading community is not bad, especially community groups that truly share experiences and knowledge with members. But if the group you mean only shares trading signals, whether paid or free, it will not provide any progress in your trading skills. I see more groups that share signals than communities that discuss traders' issues and exchange experiences with each other.

I trade on my own and it is profitable as well. Trading depends on our methods and patience not on whether you have a community trying to do the same along with you. The second one sounds like a breeding ground for MLM/HYIP and signal groups which are 100% scams.

Learn trading on your own and continue trading in the long term methods. Any groups created to aid the same will only distract you from the actual trading into side processes.

You have to be very resistant to shilling to be able to collect and filter information from such groups.

In every bear market that we enter, these incidents are pretty normal which we think that they're all manipulation. If you're not used to it, you'll definitely feel odd about it.

But once you get used to it, you'll only look at it when it happens but later on will move on.

The point of this post is: Do you think joining a trading community can improve your market insight and win rate, or is trading alone the better option?
Yes, but this is not specific to the trading communities that have signals to sell or for trials.

A trading community like this section as an example, you'd see people sharing their wins and losses, as well as the trading strategies that works for them.

I seriously believe this because it’s most what happens most especially if a trader is a Degen trader that is you trade the meme coins and all those pump and dump coins, personally I think that if you do not get belong to a community you would most likely be losing lots because this coins are simply manipulated and only those in the group can get the right information on when to buy and sell, main reason why it’s best to avoid this kind of trading

As for major coins like bitcoin and the top Altcoins I do not consider joining any community before you can actually be a better trader while it’s not bad joining one, I see a community as just a place to get information but getting signal and following it blindly like we see of recent with some even paying for it is a bad idea to me

There is always an advantage in joining a committee as a traders but the important thing to know is that some communities like this forum can really impact ones trading journey because of the likes mind you meet on the forum.  Forum likes this will always draw peoples attention when one comes witn a trading discussion that is not accurate.  Their are some communities that is full of scammers trying to make money from the community and even when people come with inaccurate information the communities compromise it and this mislead some traders. As a trader if you are looking to be in a community that will be a benefit to your trading, you just need to look very well not to fall victim to be at the wrong place.

In a community, after running for quite a while and growing bigger, it is very likely that intruders will come to deceive. OP said he gained new learning from the community he joined, but still, he has to be careful with the interactions built with other community members. It's not about suspicion, but acting cautiously would be better.

He needs to read the direction of the discussion and the information shared in the trader community he follows. If it indeed provides benefits, that would be good. If the discussion only shares profits or losses, I think it won't be helpful.

Trading is a phycological activity, it messes with your head, your emotions and sometimes it good to have people with same goals to talk to. Solo trading is nice actually but at some point, you just need to find people to share your trading ideas with. The market can sometimes be rough, so when that time comes you find a way out by sharing your experience with others. But one thing you should avoid is, do not let peoples trading decisions influence yours. I used to join many trading community before and what I noticed then was people trying to be perfect. They post setups that they do not take on live market and makes you feel like you are not putting in more efforts. You have to make sure you ignore such people even in the community..

Do you think joining a trading community can improve your market insight and win rate, or is trading alone the better option?

Both are relevant, but you must actually know what you want. There are times you will need to consider the community contributions towards a particular trade or within a specific time frame of trading experience, while there are also times when you will need to focus more on what you can deliver in your own capacity to trade. You cannot be 100% accurate at the same time; the time of day from that community may not be 100% accurate, but bringing both together gives you more closeness to being accurate in your trading

This is the good thing about Bitcointalk. It is the oldest, so many people here are knowledgeable already. They are not selfish too, to not care about what they see, especially if it is not right. They can educate or correct a wrong post but if they think it was shady or a scam, they will also make sure that posters of it will get the punishment that they deserve.

That's so good man, I'm glad I'm not the only one facing this issue, but I'm glad I get to share setups, listen to other mutuals too and we ride together.. trading can be emotionally draining though, here the DC I belong to if you wanna stop by. trading floor

You have a point, but don't you think, you'll get to push to be better when you see like-minded folks doing well?

I don't know if manipulation is at fault but people always does something to say to the market anyways so I'll probably leave it at that. Probably you're just expecting much about the state of the market as a whole, but there are other factors as always to take into considerations.

It works both ways tbh but I think you need to examine yourself first if where you're comfortable rather than simply being invited to q community. We got different pace in learning so that part matters the most.

Different answers for different individuals; trading communities can help some individuals, while for some other people it is distracting.

Personally, a trading community with few individuals who sincerely want to help each other become better in trading and not brag about their results to claim superiority over each other can help you as a trader to become better because each trader shares their experience and their strategy. If you happen to have someone in this community who uses the same indicators or strategy as you, you can both share knowledge on a deeper level and gain a deeper understanding of your approach.

Joining a community is like hunting for a signal if that is what you meant by joining a community. Although community actually helps for those that are not too granded with trading, maybe there are things they are missing through community they may get information at the right time to enter trade or exit trades.
What we must understand is that trading alone is like doing the research yourself and also analyzing the market situations without the help of anyone and if you are not technically enough to analyze the market you could end up emptying your trading account so easily.

I would always prefer making my final trading decisions by myself but that doesn't stop me from seeking ideas from others maybe in a community or from like minded friends who also trade.
Isolation in any field is bad and over dependence on a group or community bears same bad consequences because it destroys confidence in one's own abilities.
However I think the best approach is to know when to belong to the group mostly when you hit a brick wall and when to refrain from the group when your ideas are clear and strategies are spot on.
This is the balance of both.
