People who market to Bitcoiners about how bad the Democrats are / how awesome the Republicans are for the price of Bitcoin are just trying to sell you something. They are partisans who just want their favorite party or favorite president elected for reasons unrelated to Bitcoin (for instance, they may be pro-Measles).

Bitcoin went up 500% under president Biden. Bitcoin dropped almost in half after Trump was elected. The numbers can't get any more clear than this: Republicans don't pump Bitcoin (I don't think Democrats necessarily pump Bitcoin either in the long run, but they don't hurt it either).

If you want to vote for Republicans because you want masked goons crawling all over US streets murdering people, then by all means vote Republican.

But don't let anybody tell you their vote is about Bitcoin. It's not.

Halving was the trigger for Bitcoin ATH, and then coincidentally Trump got elected on that time, what worked as a boost for Bitcoin price increasement back then.

The market in general traditionally reacts positively when right wing politicians win the elections, due to their alignment with liberal economical measures, which tend to give more freedom to entrepreneurs, while not creating/raising taxes.

On the other hand, Bitcoin is a double edge sword on this matter, as it can be also benefited when leftist politicians win the elections, since investors get fearful of their abusive economical measures which charges high taxes to maintain a crowded and ineffective public machine running, so Bitcoin can become a safe haven for investors' funds in that case.

Don't we see that the same people who are so-called the policymakers within government settings are still part of the giant holders in Bitcoin? I do say it time and again that these people will not come to the public and declare the worth of Bitcoin assets. They get about the way the campaign against it and what others are suggesting regarding Bitcoin; all these are politically motivated, and they have an agenda to ensure that the market tries to play around the ongoing events that are happening within the economic and political system.

I reckon he's got his reasons for being biased. For the past two years he's been arguing with diehard Trump fans who keep saying Bitcoin hit $126k thanks to Trump, some even claiming it didn't grow at all under Biden. That's not true.

So it's no wonder OP's reaction swings the other way.

Bang on. Bitcoin is in its 18th year now, and for almost two decades it's kept growing no matter who's sitting in the Oval Office, Republican or Democrat.
It doesn't care about any of that, and if it hits a roadblock it just adapts. Simple as that.

Which is EXACTLY as I predicted and tried to warn everybody about back in 2024. Almost the entire Bitcoin community was for Trump, partially because of their promises, but mostly because of ideologues who simply wanted Trump elected for non-Bitcoin related reasons. Bitcoin folks bought it because they only say Number Go Up.

Trump doesn't care about Bitcoin (or basically anybody else on the planet not named Trump).

Most of the danger is over now since Trump no longer controls Congress. But he can still make a huge mess with his corruption, which will cause a popular backlash against Bitcoin. As I said recently, whether the Democrats do anything with Bitcoin/crypto will depend on whether there's a mess or not. If lots of consumers lose money because of a scandal--especially one caused by Trump--then there will be popular support for a crackdown on Bitcoin. If nothing happens, I doubt Democrats will waste their time with the whole subect.

Specifically? I have no idea. Generally, he's going to do whatever we can to maximize his profits and he operates effectively above the law since he will pardon everybody around him and also himself.

So ask yourself, if you could just do anything you wanted, legal or illegal, what would you do? (I cannot say I've spent much time thinking about this ). But that's your answer.

The reason the price of bitcoin is dropping is related to energy availability - anything else is a coincidence.  Look at Elon Musks' Colossus 2 - sucking water from the irreplaceable aquifer.   He promised to build a water purification system for local wastewater, but that priority has shifted to boosting the output of the data center, still sucking the aquifer dry.   Not to mention the pollution, carbon monoxide and noise.

Every couple of years we see some people come up with a new "correlation" between bitcoin price and something else that they've found and no matter how many times their speculation turns out wrong, they insist on it for a while until it's forgotten!

I guess some people will never learn that there is no "correlation" between Bitcoin and anything else (being slightly affected by something is different from having a correlation).

He got the power to infiltrate a whole market with his wealth but not in the wrong direction, that's greed, he's made the crypto guys look like clowns, he even blamed the crypto community for being the reason why the clarity act wasn't passed.
