♠️ Durak Crypto Poker League ♠️
Proposal for discussion · not launched yet · we want your opinion first

Hi everyone,

We're planning to run a poker league on Durak Crypto, and before we launch anything we'd like to talk to you. After the freeroll we collected a lot of feedback, thanks to everyone who wrote, especially memehunter and Dump3er. The main points were: a guaranteed prize, a league with a table instead of one-off events, and a reason to come back every week. This is our plan based on that. Please tell us whether it's interesting for you and what you would change.

The idea
A season of 8-10 weekly tournaments (Saturdays, 16:00 UTC to start with). Every tournament gives points, the points go into one table, and the leader at the end of the season takes the main prize. The goal is that you want to be at every event, because your place in the table depends on it.

Planned rules
  • Game: No Limit Texas Hold'em
  • Buy-in: 10 USDT
  • Guaranteed prize pool: 80-100 USDT per tournament (final number before the start). If the buy-ins add up to more, the pool is bigger
  • Bounties: we'd like to add a bounty, a bonus for every player you knock out. Format and amounts are open, ideas are welcome
  • Hands requirement: two options, see below, tell us which one you prefer
  • Entry: open to everyone, no forum rank needed, no KYC, one account per player
  • Start: if there is interest, in about two weeks, the exact date will be announced here

Hands requirement
We want people at the poker cash tables between tournaments, and we're not sure how best to do it. Two options:

Option 1: hands to register + a small requirement for winners
  • To register for a tournament you need about 50 hands played at the poker cash tables during the previous 7 days
  • Players who win a prize need to play 100 hands before they can withdraw it (exact number to be decided)

Option 2: no hands requirement to register, requirement only for winners
  • Anyone can register, you only pay the 10 USDT buy-in, no hands needed
  • Players who win a prize need to play 200 hands before they can withdraw it

In both cases we would announce fixed hours when the cash tables will be busy, so you'll have opponents.

Points table
Points for the finishing place: 1st 100 · 2nd 70 · 3rd 50 · 4th 35 · 5th 25 · 6th 18 · 7th 12 · 8th 8 · 9th 5. Everyone who sits down at the table gets +10 for playing.
Your two weakest results are dropped, so missing one or two events doesn't kill your chances. To be eligible for the season prize you need to play at least 5 events. Ties: more wins first, then more top-3 finishes, then total points.

Season prize
At least 200 USDT for the player who finishes first in the table. The final amount will be announced before the start.

What we'd like to know
1. Would you play? Drop a + if you're interested, it helps us see the interest.
2. Is a 10 USDT buy-in fine, or would you prefer something else?
3. Which hands option do you prefer, 1 or 2? If you have a different idea, write it.
4. Does Saturday 16:00 UTC work for you? If not, which time would?
5. Any ideas for how the bounties should work?
6. Should the season prize go only to 1st place, or be shared between the top 3?

We'll adjust the details based on your answers and then post the final rules in a separate thread before the start.

Still collecting opinions on the league, so if you have a minute, tell us:

1. Would you play? A "+" is enough.
2. Which hands option do you prefer, 1 or 2?

Thanks to everyone who already replied. Nothing is final, we'll adjust the rules based on your answers.

1. I drop +, I would definitely play because I love Poker.
2. $10 USDT is fine but I would love to have cheaper options too.
3. Honestly, I don't like the idea of forcing me to play hands to participate or withdraw money. I already pay money to participate in the tournament, so why to force me to gamble before or afterwards? By the way, if I was forced to choose between these two options, I would choose the first one but as I said, they aren't good options for me. It's good that second option doesn't require me to play 50 hands but playing 200 hands just to withdraw? That's too much.
4. Yes, 16:00 UTC works for me.
5. No
6. The prize should be shared between 3 players.

As I don't play original casino but I definitely play fake casino in which neither you invest your money nor can you withdraw the money you win. I play poker in it and I won a big game yesterday which was quite fun. I don't know much about Durak poker so I might not be interested in it. Because I enjoy playing with fake money more than real money in which you get money even for watching ads and some bonuses too from which I lose and win every day so it is enough for me. Although I don't go to real casino because of addiction otherwise I would definitely be a part of this poker league. There is a lot of profit in this game if the player is forced to invest maximum amount then that win is quite big

Good to see that you are acknowledging community feedback.
IMO, there should be no restriction on winning prizes. You could set a condition for entry instead, such as requiring players to play a certain number of hands OR generate a certain amount of rake on your platform.
One more thing, a $10 buy in is too high for the prize pool you are offering. It would be no surprise if this tournament will also receive no commitment from anyone, like your previous one, which you cancelled.
Personally, I think the buy in should be $1 (or none, if there are rake/hands requirements) for a $100 GTD prize pool.
This is the initial phase for your brand. You should be ready to burn a few hundred bucks just to get players to your platform and capitalize on their feedback. Forget about profits for at least few months.

1. Would you play? Drop a + if you're interested, it helps us see the interest.

I like poker, there’s no reason not to want to play, mate.

2. Is a 10 USDT buy-in fine, or would you prefer something else?

Wait, is this buy-in fee applied to every round?

In case we have 8 - 10 rounds, that means we'll be spending $80 - $100, I actually prefer the one-time buy-in system.

3. Which hands option do you prefer, 1 or 2? If you have a different idea, write it.

I'll go with option 2.

4. Does Saturday 16:00 UTC work for you? If not, which time would?

It’s almost midnight in my time zone, I’d prefer to play at 13:00 UTC.

6. Should the season prize go only to 1st place, or be shared between the top 3?

Having prizes for ranks 1 - 3 looks more appealing than having the main prize go only to the first place winner.

I agree with "Buy-in: 10 USDT" and "A season of 8–10 weekly tournaments (Saturdays, 16:00 UTC)". We played similar tournaments here before, and they went well.

"Guaranteed prize pool: 80–100 USDT per tournament" is fine too, but the season prize of 200 USDT for the player who finishes first in the table looks small to me. In the tournaments we played here in the past, the first prize ranged from $1,000 to $2,000. And if it's the only prize, it should be even bigger, but I would prefer 3 paid places instead of just one. Something like: 1st – $1,000; 2nd – $700; and 3rd – $400.

If it were like this, I think more than a hundred Bitcointalk users would register, but under your proposed conditions, you will hardly get more than fifteen.

so why to force me to gamble before or afterwards?
Thanks for the honest answer. We hear you on the withdrawal part and we're still thinking about it. 50 hands to register is about 15-20 minutes at the cash tables. The idea is simple: we want people who stay on the platform, not only come for the prize and leave. A cheaper buy-in is also coming, see below.

Quote from: qurbanshah02
I definitely play fake casino in which neither you invest your money nor can you withdraw the money you win.
Thanks for the honest answer, that's a very reasonable approach. We're actually planning a platform like that: you play for chips, no real-money games and no cashing out. Poker and Durak would work the same way, only with chips. You will be able to buy chips, and we're planning to run tournaments there with real prizes, things like electronics, phones and trips. It's still early, so I won't promise details yet, but we're aiming to announce it in January 2027, and we'll post about it here.

Quote from: memehunter
a $10 buy in is too high for the prize pool you are offering
Fair point, we're going to lower it, probably to $3 for the first tournament. I'd rather not go to $1 or zero, because a fully free event brings people who take the prize and never come back. Also, the buy-ins don't go to us, they go to the prize pool, and the platform adds $80 on top. With 15 players that's $230 at a $10 buy-in, $125 at $3 and only $95 at $1, so the buy-in is what makes the pool bigger. We agree with an entry condition instead of a lock on prizes, that's where we're leaning, and we're ready to put in a few hundred to get started.

Quote from: MAAManda
Wait, is this buy-in fee applied to every round?
Yes, every tournament has its own buy-in. That's why we want to make it cheaper: at $3 the whole season is about $24-30, and you don't have to play every event, the two weakest results are dropped. A one-time season entry is an interesting idea, we'll think about it. 13:00 UTC is noted, we'll see what most players prefer.

Quote from: Betwrong
the season prize of 200 USDT for the player who finishes first in the table looks small to me
We're not a big company like the huge platforms, and we'll get there, we'll run big leagues like that too at some point. For the start, we're adding about $80 to every tournament, and we may make the final prize bigger. For us that's a serious budget, and we don't really earn anything from it, so I think it's not a bad result. We also noticed that several of you prefer 3 paid places for the season prize, we'll take that into account.

So where we're leaning: 50 hands to register as the entry condition, a $3 buy-in for the first tournaments, and $80 added by the platform to each prize pool. Two questions:
1. Does a $3 buy-in work for you?
2. Do you want bounties at all? A bounty is a bonus for every player you knock out. We wouldn't add extra money for it: bounties would be paid out of the prize pool, so the places would get a bit less. If you're interested, what bounty size would feel right, something small and reasonable, not huge? For example, with 15 players and a pool of about $125, $1 per knockout takes around $14 out of the pool, $2 takes about $28.
