Apart from the definition of rich this actually comes back to the person whether in the end his choice to become a social climber or indeed try not to show something but on the one hand they have enough wealth.
Sometimes for now we always see a lot of people who depend on prestige that makes them try to look capable even though they are in a difficult condition financially so that the focus of people like this is they just want to show that they are capable enough to buy branded goods or luxury vehicles but on the one hand they do not consider the living conditions for daily needs.

But even so when indeed the goal is prestige then this is also not to blame because from the beginning the person chooses this as the purpose of his life. Although for now maybe we will consider this as a mistake but when he has determined the purpose of his life then indirectly he already knows with risks like this.

Anyone who is seriously struggling to meet their basic needs, I will not consider such a person wealthy. To me, being wealthy involves having valuable assets, investments, businesses, and different sources of income that can take care of one's needs and handle any emergencies that may arise.Having a house, a good car, and a business does not necessarily mean someone is wealthy. Someone can build a house, acquire their dream car, and establish a business after winning a jackpot, but it is very possible for that person to run out of money after making those purchases and eventually start struggling financially.So, for someone to be considered wealthy, in my own understanding, it is not only about the value of their assets but also about their sources of income. It would be difficult to see someone earning a reasonable amount of money and still struggling to meet their everyday needs.What I have noticed about many wealthy people is that they don't necessarily live lavish lifestyles,rather, they focus on having enough to comfortably meet their needs.

I just met someone who just defines wealth better than most economic textbooks and you sure did well in doing that, till today am still confused with saying of looking rich with being wealthy, like you said the other time a person can win some jackpots shit build house, buy some of his dream cars but can still be called a poor person why? Because the truth is that the person has only assets at that time, but there are no sources of income to maintain that life or assets, let say a you owned needs house maintenance, car needs fuel and repair all the time, business needs capital for more profits.

But If the income’s stops, assets might be seeing as a burden, the person might choose to sell off the same dream cars, sell the house, and go back to struggling in possible.

Of course it's possible for someone to have all this things you mentioned here and still struggle to sort out his everyday expenses, I know some people would say it's unusual for a person to have a business and still struggle to sort out his everyday expenses when he already have a business that is giving him money. The truth is having a business does not necessarily mean that we are free or we have settled Nah, the business is meant to serve as backup incase we get demoted from job then we can use our business to sustain ourselves while looking for a different job;  Because if we rely on the business definitely it will not last for a longer time. I think those people you see struggling to sort their everyday expenses when they have business must have thought about this that is why they decide to struggle from other source rather than relying on their business alone.

I think we sometimes judge wealth by what people have without even considering how much money they have available. A person may have millions in properties and businesses but that doesn’t mean that they can easily get access to that money when they need it. Having valuable assets is a good thing but I don’t think it means that someone is financially comfortable. After all you can’t always sell part of your house or business just because you want to cover an unexpected expense.

If you can't plan and manage your wealth, it doesn't matter how successful you might appear, it won't take long before the money finishes. There are impulsive spenders too who have the opportunity to make or grow into wealth but without the proper control and supervision, it becomes useless.

Quite a tricky one, but I think a few people live their lives this way. Well, Imo, I would still consider the person to be wealthy because wealth often has more to do with your sustainable assets that could last you for long time. Not meeting up with short term expenses doesn't necessarily mean that you're poor... Some people might just prefer to hold on to assets because they actually value it more for the future. I would easily say that the whole purpose of this financial discomfort is to preserve the very best for the last, because it could eventually unlock financial stability at the later end/long run.

It happen mostly in really life. But do you know that some people that where think are very wealthy when we see them pursed with a proper outfit not all of them are doing well in their home most of them are passing through a a alots, but is just that some people know how to package, once they package themselves well nobody will knows that their suffering to sort out their needs; only those that are very close too them will know their problems.

There’s some people that don’t values what they’ve and that’s why their lack of knowledge on how to utilize their wealthy, some will not to grow their wealth in a way they would otherwise not struggle with their own financial circumstances.

What I learned when take financial planner short course, there are an asset rich and cash poor people, but the standarization of being rich is indeed highly subjective and depends on each individual's life goals, but in a normal and measured manner, being rich is defined by the extent of financial freedom and flexibility that such wealth provides, it is not about how many luxury items we show off, nor is it about the total value of the immovable assets we possess.

Phenomenon that OP explained can be caused by lack of liquidity because big percentage assets is keeping in the form of properties or businesses, it is good for lont term but those assets can not pay electrricity or purchasing our daily necessity tomorrow. Like healthy business, personal financial condition must have positive net cashflow and we have to learn cash flow management so inflow bigger trhan outflow in the same period.

The last, I think is that people described by OP may have poor financial literacy so they make investments but forget to save for emergency funds and also protection funds resulting in panic and difficulty in dealing with unexpected expenses

The word rich in my understanding means enough, being able to afford a house, car, land etc can be attributed to the word rich, though the person might not be financially stable but affording such expensive materials actually means rich. The aspect financial comfort is different in this context, one can be able to afford their basic needs daily yet aside from affording basic needs they still can’t afford their wants like owing a house well such person is not rich also if that’s what op is trying to point out. We can call a person rich when they can afford all the necessities needed and they still do well in all aspect, for example in business field, these group of people control money with a proper management planning so they don’t lack money ever again, it all boils down to management.

First of all, a person should hypothetically not have financial problems if they have a running business because the business should be making them enough revenue to cover everyday expenses at least. It's a different case if a person has a house and a car but no business or source of income because in that case, they must have spent everything they had to buy the stuff they own and they now have nothing left, not even a source of income. So, it's illogical to say that a person has a house, a car, and a business, but are still struggling financially.

With that being said, there is a big difference between a rich and a wealthy person. A rich person may have a good house, a good car, and a good enough source of income, like a business as you mentioned, but they won't have a lot of assets or money because whatever they earn basically goes into maintaining the lifestyle they have created for themselves. And, a wealthy person will have everything a rich person may have, and on top of that, they will have assets they have built that generate money for them, without them having to do much anymore.

A rich will have to keep working to continue living the luxurious life they currently have, but a wealthy person won't even need to work anymore and still be able to afford everything.

Op I won't doubt what you felt you saw, the truth is that in every hard economy people engaged in higher risk to survive those things you saw the man has may be under condition of collateral which he engaged to acquired them so the return may be very minimal at the point of payment back before it finally become his where he will have sufficient to Carter his daily needs and wants but outsiders who have no sense of details may not understand but keeps wondering how come having those things put such personality in struggle. Another perspectives where I consider some are front to be what they are under their boss who used their name and project all finance project they only bear the name but don't have direct access to full income of those investment such personality could be rich on paper where people around see asset as rich but will struggle because the level of it's assets income is not coming directly to him.

If i have a house, a car a business and still valuable asset and maybe i am still struggling with one or two things, i am still far richer than you that is only able to take care of his basic needs without a house of his own, a car or some tangible property to his name. being wealthy does not mean you are immune from struggles, as a matter of fact, with more wealth comes even greater responsibility that are far beyond food.

An employer of more than an 100 staff can still be facing some financial challenges in his business while still paying the salary of her workers. from the salary he is paying the workers, they might appear to be doing well while he is stressing to come out of whatever issue he is facing but that does not in any way mean that his staff are better off than he is. it is better to struggle as a business person that is pushing your business further than being comfortable with peanut that wont take you anywhere.

That means, they're rich in asset but they lack of cash flow.
In paper, they're rich and have the net worth but what is it if they have no source of cash flow?
That's why people who understood the importance of cash flow will look for a ways to keep having that flow in their pockets and finances rather than to be rich in paper yet that asset is stuck and only appreciates in value which isn't bad.
But if you happen to struggle with your daily expenses, you'll be forced to sell it so that asset you've saved might only save you once but not continuously with margin that it will bring you once upon selling.

I think having expensive thing with someone like car house or whatever it is doesn’t mean that this person is very rich and is financially strong like their are some peoples who donot have that much money but they show their self to society that they are very rich and financially very strong even though they are carrying loans from other people and from banks. So in my opinion real wealth is not a car house or wearing expensive clothes instead it is about having alot of money available for you at any time it is in emergency time or whatever but it is always present for you. And you spend on yourself and also on the needy people around youself in the society or near to house. A person should balance daily expenses and his savings. I think that person might have a court order that is preventing him from accessing his properties nor collect proceeds from them. Besides that, I don't think anyone will have properties and businesses that can't get access them.  Another reason could be that the person is dead or seriously sick, so he may not have the time to monitor his business and enjoy the proceeds from it, other than those reasons, what else could prevent someone from accessing their properties and businesses?

I think people are never satisfied, the more they have, the more they want. You see one thing when you listen to the richest man in the world, he still says that he is in financial crisis and he needs more money, he will make the same comment. So it is natural that only having a house and a car can not improve financially, but it is very difficult to manage the expenses of daily life. No matter how much a person improves financially, no matter how much wealth he has, he still wants to achieve more than they have. No one wants to sell their assets to meet their daily needs, everyone only wants to increase their money.
We know that many are rich people but they also sometimes struggle to meet their needs, they sometimes face some financial crisis. According to what I have seen, there was a person in our area who owned a lot of money. He had a good business at one time, but now he is in a lot of financial problems. He has a house and a car but he has a lot of difficulty meeting his daily needs.

We should first understand why somebody would have assets like cars and a house, maybe including assets like stock and Bitcoin yet they are not able to meet their basic and discretionary financial responsibilities, it is unusual so there must be a very good reason for it. My best guess is that such a person might be in dept and have used most or all of his assets as collateral for loans, so if he has an intention to liquidate some of his assets for physical cash to survive he cannot do so. It could also be that the person has a fund target and even if he liquidates all his assets he cannot raise needed capital for a bigger project so he is managing to survive instead of selling some of his assets pending when he can raise sufficient funds. Let us avoid being in any situations that will make is to neglect taking care of our immediate needs, it's not worth it.

Well there is different between a rich and wealthy person, like we have discussed a rich person is a person that has money but may not have an investment, maybe he won lottery, jackpot or contract. But a wealthy man is that man that invest into different assets when he is rich. I want you to also understand that not having access to your investment at any given Time doesn't make you poor or not wealthy but you are only maintaining principle. Wealthy men are classified by their asset which means that they have an investment and get dividends of that investment frequently without working hard for it, which means they are independently making cool money without stress. So they are rich and wealthy even when they don't have cash at some point, but However they have hope and expectations unlike those that doesn't have hope anywhere.

My uncle has transport company and he makes a lot money from it and use it for other investment, sometimes he may be out of cash, but that doesn'take him not wealthy, he has all what it takes to get money at any given time but he can't use the sake of not having cash to sell his investment. Just know today that wealthy people dont always have Cash in the bank as people expect and that doesn't stop them from being wealthy.

In my life having access to huge amount of money sometimes is very easy or should I say getting money is also very difficult but it's quite easier than maintaining that status for a very long time. We have Witnesses a lot of people which we know that at a time there we are very rich, but they could not be able to maintain their status just because they don't have any plan all, what they always think is that the money will continue coming without any of their efforts. This normally happened to most of our politicians, in my own country politics is one of the fastest way of making someone rich and that is how the opposite is too, they found it very difficult to plan because no any plan will bring such amount to them and that is why they all made mistake and return back to were they are before.

Don't use what you think to judge the financial status of someone else.

Some people will never tell you the truth about their finance, they will only tell you what you need to know maybe because of some security reasons. Having assets worth millions is already wealth, don't be deceived.

They might not be able to meet up with their needs but it won't be something that would be for long. Some people might put their goals first before every other things and to an outsider, they are having some hard times.

Your colleague might not know he is wealthy untill he sells one of his property and count the money in cash, and even spend it. Sometimes rich people doesn't have cash to spend, that doesn't mean, they are poor, they are rich in stocks and property.

What they normally do is sometimes build systems that prints them money daily so they could easily get cash to spends while leaving.
