If you are living to not show off people will still say that you are showing off, whatever people called you to be, raise your head up high and proudly walk in such a way that you are been called, it makes no difference.

I came from a family where words is all they can render to you even though they are capable of helping you financially, I figured it out very early since they are helping outsiders and not me, then I stood my lane and worked on myself.

Things start to change for the best and they are not liking it, the hatred started to gather and later they started calling it proudness and show off, I figured that no matter what you do people will still talk.

The other day I was considering a statement I made about living poor, and later realized that it could be a de-motivating factor for people who aim to be rich in order to show off or flaunt the riches. I think this group are in the majority which explains why most rich people's homes or properties have lots of fanciful and unnecessary things.
There is another group who wouldn't care whether their riches are known about or not as long as they are useful to others/society... This should be the minority.
 
And there are people who want to be rich to escape poverty and be able to live a comfortable life.. This group of people are less likely to live poor or be selfless but their top priority is not to show off. They are more concerned about self and family.

It's quite surprising that "show off" is a motivating factor to be rich for many. What if nobody cares, would they consider being rich. This likely will be a desperate group of people who would lack patience and easily fall to the temptation of overnight riches.
As for the rich ones who can live poor, I think they will do well managing a country or even businesses, and will also be very patient people and less financially corrupt. It'll be much better to live or invest in countries, organizations or businesses run by such people since they are more likely to focus on wellbeing of people rather than to make as much money as possible to live selfishly/extravagantly.

I think certain things aren't mutually exclusive. There's a reason you look your best to a job interview or when meeting your partner's parents for the first time, you want to signal that you can be trusted because you've got something going for you. If you give a poor man the wheels of a company or even a country, they'll be confounded because they've never dealt with such amounts of money nor have they dealt with that kind of weight. I think being rich and "showing off" is a type of social signal that helps you tell society that you can handle that multi-million dollar contact and not run away, you've seen it all and can handle it.

It's undeniable that many people want to be rich to show off and appear happy to others. But there are also quite a few who want to be rich because they want to live comfortably and help others. So I think this can't be eliminated from this world, because basically, people who show off their homes or other assets aren't necessarily bad-hearted. Because such people can also be useful to others. As evidence, many such people can create job vacancies. So that's clearly a very good thing. Because basically, even though some people like to show off, they also prioritize comfort. So, yes, don't think too negatively about people who seek wealth to show off. Because I'm sure that's not the goal of most people. Because every human being naturally wants to live comfortably. So, most people's goal is comfort, and showing off is something they probably do after they have that comfort.

Regardless it is best we have a positive reason why we will want to be successful, that plays a major role on how long the successful life last.

But the heck who cares about what people think about their lives? you become rich, that's good. Live your life and if you can help your people, do it although it's not a requirement when someone reaches their peak of success.

I don't see any wrong with showing-off as long as that person can afford, it only becomes a problem if that person pretends that he's rich and able, but in reality he's the poorest of the poor.

Now those people who just want to get rich so they can show-off, mind you they won't get rich for real. Every person have their own of wanting to become rich but in my opinion Money should make your life easier not to impress other people with money like some people want live a better life and some wants to secure the future of their families. I think their is nothing wrong in buying expensive things or enjoying your life with the money if you are earning it honestly and spending it wisely. The real problem starts when a person earn and spend money and also buying expensive things to show it to the people around him just to impress people and to showoff. And these type of people never become happy because they always compare themselves to the peoples and tried to impress them or to attain their attention. To me a real success is when you have enough money that you live your life with peace and never beg someone.

You cant argue with the facts that the more you appear rich they more people will want to be associated with you, i think that culture has obviously gotten into the majority and thats just how people think and do things which of course will explain the unnecessary purchases and flashing of funds. So i think its just a response to the system in place, it it when you get rich and then you understand that you dont need to flaunt wealth like that but when you are aspiring, i think the general thought process is just to fake it till you make it which is a common phrase you will hear often.

If you have money then you have every right to have a good standard of living and its natural that people will say strange things about you. This is why we must not expect any sort of help from our relatives not from outsiders rather we must continue our hard work that can take us to success.

If you say a low profile, do you mean living in bamboo houses or plank houses coz that too seems like a way for one to keep a low profile.At some point, a rich man will actually and always have do some show off whether they want to or not...For instance a rich man would want to build his own houses, get his own cars, marry beautiful women, go on vacations and the likes .Surely you don't expect him to deny himself of all of this just because he values keeping a low profile..You may deny this, but the truth is that enjoying the benefits of your wealth is showing other around you your financial capacity, which could very well make you a center of attraction, attention and envy from folks alikes..

Really! Of course there are a lot of folks that want to be rich so that they could show off and live a luxury lifestyle, to them they think that's what life is all about not. Even though they are going to do that but at least they should try and create somewhere they will have comfort like you Said, for example building a house. because we can't actually live all this lifestyle we are craving for in another man's house it doesn't make sense.

You seem to be missing a major factor here, which is that people mostly get "rich" as a byproduct of their line of work and their level of skill in it. A doctor might accrue a lot of wealth during their life time, but they take on big loans that take their 20's, 30's and maybe even 40's to pay down. However their goal is not necessarily money, it's just an outcome of their line of work and happens to make life very comfortable for them. A doctor is not driven by money (at least the majority) but rather by their desire to help and make people better again. If you really love what you do, then you don't mind dedicating an extra few hours in a work day to finish a job and that level of loyalty is often later rewarded by promotions or salary increases - if a company recognizes it properly. You're so fixated on the money side of things, rather than realizing it's just something many people accumulate along the way in life. So-called "influencers" might fake and pretend all the things that you talk about but they're really quite shallow people and most of them won't actually succeed in this area.

This is an individual thing. Whereas we have people who are simple by nature. Whether they are rich or not, they don't like to show off, they will prefer to dress simple, no Gucci watches, chain, or bags with them.

There is another set of people, they are naturally loud. With a little money, they buy nice shirts, shoes, or bags to appear rich, even though they are not.
