With Elections in the United States of America come and gone, which saw a resounding victory for the opposition. As they claim victories both in the State governorship elections and the Senate and House of Representatives. Democrats won five more additional governship seats as they gain more control at the state level, while in the Senate seven additional seats where won by the opposition Democrats while over thirty seats where reclaimed from the Republican by the opposition party.

The reason why am writing this is because, of the type of politics that goes on here in Nigeria. Election here is by force, by turn and by zoning and most especially rigging is one major part of the electoral process that goes on in the country. The will of the people where respected as they spoke through the ballot. Nigeria is in this present situation she finds herself because people forced their way into power as the will of the people where disregard. The ruling political class should learn and take a leave from this just concluded election by the United States of America.

When the Elections where going on we didn't see any form of intimidation, manipulation vote buying and the ruling party doing everything to win Elections.

Trump promised that if his party Republican win the election, both the House of Representatives and the Senate, that he is going to give every American adult $5000. That is not directly vote buying, but you can see how it is similar to vote buying which some people in Nigeria can because of, vote in favour of what the president want.

Blame the level of illiteracy in Nigeria too. They are suffering but voting for suffering, thinking they are doing something good.

Nobody will have power and willingly give it away unless he is forced to. It's the people who have to force them out. As bad as this country is, we all still have people that are supporting Tinubu. Americans saw that their country was going to shit because of one man, and they immediately rectified their mistake. But Nigerians will still want to vote for these same idiots after seeing that we are getting worse as a country. Everything in this country has become worse. Security, cost of living, unemployment, corruption and everything else have gotten worse, yet Nigerians will still vote for the same shit heads. It's insane. Even the people they used to rig elections are idiots. They get paid peanuts to sell their soul for the next four years. This country is filled with idiots.

In a place where real democracy is being practiced, power belongs to the people and not the incumbent or past leadership as it’s the case with Nigerian electoral system. You can imagine what’s happening in rivers state for instance where someone like wike will conclude that just because Lulu Briggs is not of the APC or PDP that there’s no hope that he’s going to win in the coming governorship election. This is someone that’s just a single individual that ideally should have a single vote.

This is partly the reason why working on having functional system in Nigeria is far more important than waiting for a messiah to arise as the president of the federation. If INEC and all electoral systems I Nigeria is working just as it’s the case with the united state, the power that actually belongs to the people wipe always prevail.

Even if people are free to vote for whosoever they want, what is the point if their votes don’t count in the end? This alone can discourage people and that is why we need to know that voting is not just about supporting any party or because of where they are from. We should start taking it more serious and look at what they have to offer us and do for the betterment of the country.
As for INEC, there responsibility is to make sure that the votes of the people are counted fairly without being baiz about it. Wining or losing of an election should be decided by the people not by who has more power or influence.
