What's your take on the current economy status of africa, do you really feel the issue we have is all about how the wealth is distributed or its about something completely different. Because i know africa do have a significant amount of minerals, oil, natural gas and agricultural resources. Yet processing all these can not actually amount to any significant economic prosperity. I feel there is so much to this more than we know. Or is it that we are not creating enough value from what we have? We also have to utilize everything we do and make good out of everything and also with bringing in more benefits for our business.

What's your take on the current economy status of africa, do you really feel the issue we have is all about how the wealth is distributed
The major challenge has always been wealth distribution because Africa as we know is a continent that is blessed with numerous natural resources but the unfortunate thing about it is that these natural resources are being held back to the benefit of a few persons and not equally distributed among citizens in the location where these natural resources have been found. This is why most Africans talk of corruption always.

The wealth distribution problem is the major problem of Africa, not just the distribution but management issue and ability to harness out resources to the benefits of the entire citizens has keep Africa into mess for year where some high mindedness personal dwell with hidden agenda and pribe collection to morged most of this resources through loan and other means. Africa is among the richest nation if all resources are well distributed and management, harness in such a way it will benefit the masses, all Africa needs is visionary leaders who are fair in distribution what seem to be problem would turned to be productivity.

There is only one answer that comes to my mind, those who manage natural resources drain personal and group profits be it foreign companies, elites, corrupt governments to the burden of debt and who end up having difficulty providing welfare for their citizens.

Unequal distribution of wealth is not just an African problem, it’s something that’s common in all the part of the world. People are born in different environments and homes some of which are naturally blessed with resources and parents that are already wealthy while others are from places that have little to no tangible resources. The key challenges Africa has always had is improper management of the wealth and the resources she already has. If there were proper management of resources, an average African shouldn’t struggle with basic finances.

Africa is experiencing an existential challenge, I feel there is some level of conspiracy against the African communities and it is best the African leaders look inward to create sustainable wealth for their people. Most African countries, in fact it is likely that Africa has most of the countries that have lowest currency values across the world, some of these things are not coincidental, if you look inward you will see that it is deliberate. before now Muhammad Gaddafi of blessed memory has proposed the need for Africa to have a United currency, that way their currency will be valued in the international community. Because by the time you look at the level of productivity in Africa and the resources they have, the product they produce has low exchange, so somebody can have a minimum currency in other part of the world and use that currency to buy maximum goods in Africa, meanwhile it is likely impossible for an African to buy products of other Western countries using his monthly salary, because they come as something that is very expensive, take for example an iPhone 18 pro Max, is barely impossible for an African civil servant to purchase, but this is like a toy in the hands of kids in other parts of the world. You will see that an average worker in other parts of the world can easily fly into Africa for vacation because of the currency value that person has, but trust me an average worker in an African community does not have the financial resource to fly out of his country or his continent to other part of the world to go for vacation, this is because their currencies are valued low and they cannot withstand the financial pressure that comes with going out for vacation across the world. There is only one call that the African community needs to call, the African leaders need to unite to have a common front.

First of all, where is the accountability in Africa, most African leaders are only in leadership positions to make money for themselves not to create equal opportunity for everyone, just as you said we have everything in African, let me use my country as an example, we have enough crude oils and gas, but not active or will I say functional Government refineries, how will such country function very well, and what does it take to fix this refineries, I don't think it will cost much for a dedicated leadership that knows what to do, the only refinery we have now is owned by one citizen that have decided to suffer the masses. I don't know who I will be offending but I have to be frank with us, African leaders are very selfish, and it will be very difficult for selfish minds to do things that will benefit people they are ruling, the suffocate the poor the more intentional so that they won't have the voice to speak out, but this may not continue for a long time,

When I travelled in Africa, I had a chance to see how people lives on other way round. Unfortunately, many children are deprived of basic needs, grown-up people have lack of opportunities to work and many people are dying from simple illness like Malaria and Typhoid. Yet, the government is still reluctant to help their citizen.
In some parts of Africa, there is no middle class. It is either you are rich or you are very poor. In Africa, they have oil&gas, diamonds and ruby but who benefits? No, not even their government, but the countries such as France, USA and other first world countries. They are very lucky because they don't have natural disaster such earthquakes, stormsurges, tsunami and volcanic eruption yet many people are still struggling with their daily lives.
The problem lies on the system and yes, it is not only Africa who experiences wealth distribution problem. Corrupt officials are all around the world.

The problem is that all of Africa’s raw materials and oil resource are handed over to western mining companies without bringing the slightest benefit or prosperity to the local population; this is mainly down to a corrupt political class or to puppet politicians placed in key positions by the companies themselves. Very often, licences are granted in return for bribes that are shared amongst politicians and do not benefit the national welfare.

Africa is richly blessed with natural resources, but the problem we have is the leaders. The money that is supposed to be used for infrastructure, healthcare , education and skill are been distributed among themselves while the people who needed it the most suffer in poverty. If we have good leaders to represent us in every level, I think Africa will be great again. You can see the evidence of what good leaders looks like in Burkina Faso, as president Ibrahim traoré is making Africa proud by his good works. I think if Africans can emulate from him, we would go higher and Africa will be a place of attraction, many from Europe, Asia and other continent will wish to visit, and our people will not flee abroad to seek for greener pastures when they have it.

Sometimes I look at the challenges African countries are facing and I see it as what is within their capacity to control but couldn't identify the means to achieve it, this is why some people cannot do beyond the ability they have, but one thing they are also living behind is that there is always a room for improvement, we can learn to improve more than we have achieved before when it comes to how we are expected to take the leadership over our country into next level, but too many of these leaders are only limited to how far they can see.

I don’t want to look at this issue through the perspective of the African continent because that creates a target. I think this problem exists all over the world. That’s why focusing on the problem itself might be a more appropriate approach for us.
First and foremost, even the comments under this post are about leaders. We’re constantly waiting for someone to come along and save us, just like Jesus Christ. Perhaps the day we stop placing expectations on leaders and instead desire and demand the transformation of the people, we’ll solve many of our problems.
Because reducing all problems to a single person is, in my view, just as unrealistic an approach as attributing all success to a single person.

The problem is bad leaders. When corrupt leaders are in charge of a country, they will hardly distribute the wealth to everyone but only themselves and their friends. The mineral resources in my country is enough to take care of everyone but these greedy leaders prefer to hurd it for themselves and allow majority of the citizens to suffer in poverty. Everyone mustn't be rich but let everyone have something that puts food on their table and meet up with their basic needs. I don't know why Africa has been like this since onset.

Africa's major problem is corruption. Corrupt African leaders are collaborating with their international partners to steal African resources. Africa has long been the source of raw materials for developed nations. And these developed nations ensure that Africa doesn't industrialize. The industrialization of the African continent will make neo-colonial powers lose their source of raw materials and a large market for these industrial goods. Gradual change is coming to the continent. Some leaders have realized that we have been robbed for a long time. We are gradually gaining economic independence through industrialization. The Dangote refinery is projected to become one of the biggest petroleum refineries and Petrochemicals in Nigeria by 2028. Dangote is also expanding to other African countries to enable us to achieve fuel sufficiency. For many years of exploration of solid minerals like gold, most foreign countries never cared to build factories and refineries. Now countries like Burkina Faso have built the nation's first gold refinery. Africa would gradually industrialize to the amazement of its internal and external looters.

I don't think Africa's problem is anything about wealth, before you start to think of wealth in Africa you have to first think of Africa having the basic things of living. There are many places in Africa still living in an inhuman way this 2026, basic amenities like clean water, good roads, schools , power, security and more are poor in Africa. Wealth is not the pressing issues in Africa rather the main issue is that Africa is suffering from political leaders mismanagement.

If Africa had its own advanced technology, the amount of natural resources, mineral oil and other valuable precious gems that are found throughout Africa, then the African continent would be as developed as Europe. Large European and American companies are constantly extracting all the mineral resources from Africa and taking them to their countries, and they are only going up economically on Africa's resources. I think if Africa invests more in their technology and improves their education system, then in the future, perhaps this will pay off. No matter how much natural resources Africa has, if they cannot ensure their own use, the quality of life will not change.

Wealth distribution or the lack of it is a global problem and something which has been going on for many many years. You could actually say wealth distribution is a wealth problem.
If a country has natural resources it is a target for the European and American banking oligarchs, they get righer by plundering countries by stealth under the guise of "developing".
Those parasites start by making sure a favourable government is in place, then they make a deal to develop those resources through multi national energy companies like Shell and essentially suck the resources out of the country with minimal wealth going to the country itself.

Africa is blessed with great resources that makes her already wealthy, but there's the problem of bad and corrupt leadership. There's the problem of god-fatherism that tends to hoard resources and confiscate wealth. There's the problem of poor industrialization. So the problem of Africa is more about building the proper machinery to distribute wealth effectively.

The major challenge has always been wealth distribution because Africa as we know is a continent that is blessed with numerous natural resources
Wealth distribution is not the main problem in Africa, many African countries don't have a stable economy because those in position to make things right failed to look beyond quick money, many African countries will have a stable economy if they manage their resources before export them. African will be a whole lot better if the government knows how to turn people knowledge and ideas into a long lasting opportunity that will improve the economy. The number one trust is that most African countries don't know how to manage their resources, and if you don't know how to manage your resources and you have plenty of it, you will still be poor.

Wealth distribution is the least of the reasons behind the backwardness of Africans in terms of development and economic stability. Taking Nigeria for example, they are blessed with various kinds of mineral resources but the presence of corrupt leadership system and leaders stands as the reason behind the suffering citizens are experiencing there. The same problem Nigeria is facing is what other African countries are facing today, leaders in Africa are only interested in enriching themselves and subjecting the poor masses to civilised slavery just for their selfish interest without considering the reason for electing them into power.
