It's not designed to exploit the poor, it's the poor who are trying to make fantasies that they can make a living from gambling or change their lives because of gambling. It's the poor mindset they have because they don't factor in the house edge that's why they lose. That's why the majority of gamblers are poor, but the biggest money going into gambling is not coming from the poor but from the rich and those in the middle class.

Both the rich and poor seeks entertainment and sometimes their entertainment environment falls into same space, even though a segment may have higher numbers engaging in such than the other.


The screenshot is about bets shops in poor neighborhood, this is a stereotype and shouldn't be considered truth, we have most biggest casinos in eyebrows areas, and such numbers doesn't lie, so the question is which among rich and poor actually gamble more based on datas.

Gambling is for all categories the rich, average and poor but they all have different mindset towards gambling. Casino wouldn't target the poor but the rich because they're high rollers.

However, due the poverty the poor took it upon themselves to escape from poverty through gambling and that has done a lot of harm to them financially, mentally and physically. Rich people made their money from elsewhere and the poor want to get rich from gambling, they both don't have the same dream and mindset, the rich gamble to have some fun that many have been discussing on the forum for a while now.

It's easier for the rich to gamble without expecting anything back because they have mindset to make money from something that isn't based of prediction, they use gambling to whine away their free time.

The poor need the money so badly and they don't want to work something out, they would rather dream of getting rich via gambling because it's easier this way.

It's hard to say that gambling is only for the poor people. As a matter of fact the rich dudes even gamble more than even the guys that are poor. Because the truth is that the both set of persons need more money in their wallets either the rich or poor. Of course most of the victims of gambling are the poor people as most likely target of gambling is this group, a group of people who think that they need to find a way out of their financial status which they don't like at all. Here is the most dangerous part, most poor people truly believe one day hitting that life changing jackpot which simply is an illusion. While following this illusion they get stuck deep in the abyss of addiction without really a way out. If you are poor and not careful gambling can take your life hostage.

I have no idea about our area since a bigger part of the population is poor but gambling revenue is very high, but just to answer your question and prove that gambling is not really a trap for the poor. I searched and found that there are also betting shops in wealthy areas. Gambling is a game for both the rich and the poor, if they can play gambling by following the strategy, then they can enjoy a lot of pleasure from gambling. Both the rich and the poor are gambling, but the only difference is the higher numbers of poor people that gamble, compare to the rich that does it codedly or in secret, for people not to know that they even engage in such activities.

You cannot categorically tell that gambling is for a particular set of people in the society. It can be noticed that so many poor people have seen gambling as a means of survival which is a very bad idea if you ask me. You cannot make your life depend on uncertainty and lucky opportunities.
It’s not like it’s the poor people that are the main target of the bookies, just that it’s easier to keep them to continue with the gambling because that’s what they believe will eventually change their life. The fact that that you’re gambling you are the target audience whether you’re poor or rich.

Gambling is also noticed among the rich. Just they because they are rich they don’t gamble all the time.
