It all comes down to your personal decisions, if you really understand what you’re investing and you don’t really invest solely thinking it’ll pump 50x in a week (or that kind of quick money mindset) then I can’t inherently say you’re wrong.

If you’re talking about asset in general of course it’s not only bitcoin that can actually be trusted, there are some other asset that have also stood the the test of time like the gold, land, and stock. But if you’re talking about just the cryptocurrency space I can only trust bitcoin for now.
Simply because there other alternative coins are dependent heavily on their development teams, token supply, and continued project development unlike the bitcoin that doesn’t really depend on all this factors due to its decentralised nature.

When it comes to holding altcoin, I don’t think there is a fix period that will guarantee maximum profit. Just the way some projects will remain relevant for years, others will just lose value in less than a month. Thats not like bitcoin wch can be invested in without even looking back to it for many years. When you hold altcoin you need to be observing the token to see its adoption, real world use and token supply if not you might end up investing in an asset that can lose it value that even your net investment might be lost and not just about making profit from it.

Firstly, you should know that buying altcoins is the same thing with gambling because the chance of making profit from it is very slim since most of them were created to scam people through pump and dump. In the long run altcoins dump and dump to zero value making it not a good place to put your money into. No one can tell you for how long an altcoin will be profitable. What I can tell you is that, if you buy any altcoin and you're already in a little profit, it's better to sell it and take profit. I only invest in bitcoin.

I would  advise you to focus on accumulating bitcoin and hold for a long time instead of looking for altcoin because of quick profit. No altcoin can be compared to bitcoin in terms of its track record, and if you are thinking of where you can make quick profit there is no guaranteed timeline that you will hold altcoin and be profitable.
The fact that you are advised not to invest in bitcoin for a short term doesn't mean that investing in altcoin for a short term will give you quick profit.

I would advise you not to choose short-term investments. If your money is very valuable, then stay away from short-term investments and be especially careful when investing in altcoins. I will not blame all altcoins, but most altcoins are scam projects.

You can plan to invest in Bitcoin, of course it should be a long-term plan. As an alternative investment to diversify your investment, you can invest some money in reliable coins like Ethereum, BNB or Sol.

I wouldn’t say trust is the particular reason although it’s largely contributes to it but generally I would say people expect it to generate more profit in comparison to others. Bitcoin has proven to yield more profit over the years in relation to others and a large part of that is due to the trust people have for it that’s why I insisted that trust is a major contributor for this.  It predictable monetary policy, established network security and lack of central authority gives people reason to treat different from other coins.

When stack all these together, you start to understand why Bitcoin is uniquely viewed amongst other cryptocurrencies.

There are other trustworthy assets, besides Bitcoin. And for your information, assets are not only limited to cryptocurrencies because an asset is anything valuable that you own. It could be a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, a business, an investment, real estate, equipments, cash or vehicles.

The reason most people stick with Bitcoin is that,  it has proven itself to be a store of value and offers a significant edge against inflation. I have seen some people argue that making a profit from Bitcoin is not guaranteed, but personally, I believe that as long as you accumulate a significant amount of Bitcoin and are able to hold it for the long term you stand a better chance of making a profit.

Most of the shitcoins you see out there, are pump and dump projects so avoid them for your own mental health. But, if your risk tolerance level is high enough to try them out, do it with money you can afford to lose. Don't say I did warn you.

Honestly speaking Bitcoin really get the focus this is because Bitcoin is the only one that don’t need you to go trust any team.

But with altcoins you are really trusting the supply , hype and developers if they stops building price follows. But when it comes to Bitcoin it does not have that problem.

That why I really do treat them differently. When it comes to Bitcoin I can hold and forget for years but for altcoins i have to wacht for the usage drop or if I notice that the team are going silent i am out. You just have to keep to wacht of the project there’s no fixed number of months.

I don't know who told you that for long term go for Bitcoin and short term go for altcoins, this is a misleading investment statement that has no proof that it works.
First there is no statement that is actually completely sure that it will work,n they are mostly speculation and you should be aware that it is not a guarantee.
I choose Bitcoin for long term, I don't look at FUD that's why I don't care about short term investment, but if you are interested in altcoins or Bitcoin always do your research.

Bitcoin happens to be one of the main focus because bitcoin is valuable and trustworthy, for investment choice aside bitcoin, altcoin is not really a good choice of investment though some investors are smart enough to know which altcoin is profitable and watch the market price. op I am a little confused by your words because short-term investment is never invest, trading is short-term. This is why Bitcoin is focused on because Bitcoin is the most limited. And it is the most trusted currency. I have never actually invested in Altcoins, but I know this much that investment is never short-term. When I say investment, I mean long-term investment. A Bitcoin investor should always focus on how to make his Bitcoin investment more sustainable.

If someone wants to invest in Altcoins for the short term, he can do so. But whether it will really be good for him or not depends on his judgment. An investor can take any decision, but I think as an investor, he should always invest for the long term and that must be in Bitcoin.
