There are other cryptocurrencies with huge volatility that could make people rich or poor within a short period but they are not trusted cryptocurrencies because they lack fundamentals that could sustain them in the market for long term. Altcoins are not bad investment but would require a lot of personal research before making a decision to invest, but with bitcoin there is no need for plenty research or validation before investing because there is every possibility that it would do well in the future.

The truth is there’s only one reliable and valuable coin and that is Bitcoin. It was the first of its kind and is the base upon which other cryptocurrencies were created, it has proven track record of successful long term growth and value has increased drastically. It is on these bases that trust in it has been built.

Other alternative coins are not as valuable and reliable as bitcoin, there are those we call shit coins… they can go 50x, 100x up or down. They can triple your capital or cripple you, it’s basically gambling when investing in such coins.

There are many more credible assets than Bitcoin but you have to find them. You should not doubt the credibility of Bitcoin because of the price history of this digital asset and the fact that it is gradually becoming a store of value.

Most of the altcoins in the market are hype based because they are mostly centralized. There are a few top altcoins that can be easy for short-term trading but you have to take the highest risk because the market is volatile and the price can fall at any time.

In the cryptocurrency market Bitcoin is the best asset to invest on, there has been so many doubt about Bitcoin since it existence but those doubts has been cleared because Bitcoin has moved above their expectations and it's still going higher, and this made Bitcoin to be so reliable and trustworthy to invest on.

Dont because you want to earn profit in a short time and you ho into investing the wrong coin. Generally good investment are normally longterm in duration and it is better to invest in Bitcoin.  The reason in investing bitcoin is because of the reliability and not just about the profit you gain from bitcoin.  Altcoins are full of shitcoins and because one have interest to invest in a short-term they may end up in investing in the wrong coin. You can invest in some altcoins for the short term at your own risk and hope that it will be able to give you profit. The problem is the risk and entering the market at the right time. You have to agree that crypto is risky and enter crypto with the ability to lose. Especially in short-term investments, you have the possibility of losing.

If you are an experienced person in crypto and are familiar with the coins, then you can earn big profits in the short term from some trusted altcoins. You have said it all  and I think that's the reason everyone tends to go for Bitcoin I mean who will not go for what is secure and trustworthy, I think those are the key factors that investors are looking for an asset they can invest in and be relaxed with the assurance that there investments are safe and secured and over the years Bitcoin has been able to prove that it can be trustworthy so investors do not need to hesitate while invest.
