QNET BLOCKCHAIN

Post-Quantum-Resistant Layer 1 Blockchain

INTRODUCTION

QNET BLOCKCHAIN is an experimental Layer 1 blockchain designed with post-quantum cryptographic security, mobile participation and decentralised network infrastructure at its core.

The project is designed by one independent developer and built with AI assistance. There is no traditional development team, venture capital funding or corporate backing. The architecture and protocol decisions are directed by the developer.

QNET is built around an important question: How can blockchain infrastructure remain secure as computing technology advances and quantum computers threaten the cryptographic systems used by existing networks?

Rather than waiting for that challenge to become urgent, QNET incorporates post-quantum cryptography into its protocol design.

This thread is intended to introduce the project, explain its technology and economic model, share development resources and provide a place for interested people to discuss QNET BLOCKCHAIN.

1. POST-QUANTUM SECURITY

QNET uses ML-DSA-65, also known as CRYSTALS-Dilithium3 and standardised under NIST FIPS 204.

Post-quantum signatures are used to authenticate transactions, block signatures, consensus votes and node identities.

For network communication, QNET uses TLS 1.3 over QUIC with a hybrid X25519 and ML-KEM-768 key exchange, authenticated using ML-DSA-65.

The objective is to build a blockchain where post-quantum cryptographic security is integrated into the core protocol rather than added as an afterthought.

2. BLOCKCHAIN ARCHITECTURE AND CONSENSUS

QNET uses an account-based blockchain architecture with a two-tier block production and finality system.

Its consensus architecture includes:

* Microblocks produced on a one-second slot schedule.
* Producer rotation every 30 microblocks.
* Checkpoint-BFT committees that certify finality checkpoints every 30 microblocks.
* Macroblocks sealed every 90 microblocks.
* Quorum certificates that establish checkpoint finality.

The network also incorporates producer failover and reputation-based security.

Consensus participation is based on eligible nodes and verifiable selection. A node that signs conflicting blocks can be cryptographically proven to have equivocated and removed from future selection.

The security model does not depend on locking or slashing users’ funds.

3. TWO TYPES OF NODES

QNET has two node types: Light Nodes and Super Nodes.

LIGHT NODES

Light Nodes are designed for mobile participation.

They operate through the QNet Wallet on supported phones and tablets. Unlike traditional blockchain nodes, they do not store blocks, headers or blockchain state.

A Light Node responds to signed status requests from the network a few times during each four-hour epoch and sends a signed attestation.

There is no mining or continuous hashing involved. The objective is to make network participation accessible to ordinary mobile device users.

The mobile application uses hardware-backed device security to protect node keys and verify device eligibility.

SUPER NODES

Super Nodes provide the network’s core infrastructure.

They participate in block production, consensus voting, checkpoint finality and network services.

They run on server or desktop hardware and maintain blockchain state.

Both node types serve different purposes within the same blockchain architecture.

4. 1DEV AND QNC

QNET uses two assets within its two-phase node activation and economic model.

1DEV - PHASE 1 ACTIVATION

1DEV is an external Solana SPL token used for Phase 1 node activation.

The initial activation requirement is 1,500 1DEV for either node type.

As the original 1DEV supply is burned, the activation requirement decreases.

The requirement falls by 150 1DEV for every additional 10% of the original supply burned, down to a minimum of 300 1DEV.

The 1DEV used for activation is permanently burned. Nobody receives the burned tokens.

The network independently verifies the burn transaction. There is no bridge or wrapped 1DEV asset involved in the activation process.

QNC - NATIVE NETWORK ASSET

QNC is the native asset of QNET BLOCKCHAIN.

Its core supply parameters are:

Maximum supply: 4,294,967,296 QNC (2^32).

Genesis supply: Zero.

Premine: None.

Decimals: 9.

QNC is designed to support network participation, node activation in Phase 2 and the wider blockchain ecosystem.

5. PHASE 1 AND PHASE 2

QNET’s node activation model has two phases.

PHASE 1 - 1DEV BURN

The current activation mechanism requires users to burn 1DEV on Solana to activate a node.

The same activation requirement applies to Light Nodes and Super Nodes.

PHASE 2 - QNC ACTIVATION

Phase 2 begins when 90% of the original 1DEV supply has been burned or five years have passed since the genesis block, whichever comes first.

In Phase 2, activation moves from 1DEV to QNC.

The QNC used for activation goes into Pool #3 and is redistributed among active nodes.

The activation amount will scale according to network size. The exact activation schedule will be set before Phase 2 opens.

Phase 1 and Phase 2 are part of the same broader network architecture. The transition changes the activation mechanism and introduces another reward pool.

6. QNC EMISSION AND REWARD DISTRIBUTION

QNC emission follows a four-hour epoch schedule.

When both node groups are eligible, the reward allocation is:

75% - Light Nodes.

25% - Super Nodes.

If either group is empty, the other group receives the full emission for that epoch.

The emission schedule follows a long-term reduction model:

Years 0-20: Emission halves every four years.

Years 20-24: A further 10x reduction.

From year 24: Four-year halvings resume from the reduced emission base.

QNET also has two reward pools:

Pool #1: Base QNC emission distributed among eligible active nodes.

Pool #3: Funded by QNC node activation payments introduced in Phase 2 and redistributed among active nodes.

Transaction fees go entirely to the block producer.

7. SMART CONTRACTS AND ECOSYSTEM

QNET is designed to support more than native asset transfers.

Its architecture includes a deterministic WebAssembly virtual machine for smart contract execution.

The protocol also supports native QRC-20 and QRC-721 transaction types.

Developer resources include an SDK, command-line interface, RPC API and smart contract documentation.

These components provide the foundation for developers to build applications, tokens and other blockchain-based services on QNET.

8. DEVELOPMENT AND OPEN SOURCE

QNET’s source code and development activity are publicly available on GitHub.

The repository includes the blockchain implementation, cryptographic components, consensus infrastructure, node software, wallet applications, explorer and technical documentation.

Anyone interested in the technical side can examine the code, follow development commits and independently inspect the implementation.

Rather than relying solely on promotional claims, people are encouraged to investigate what is actually being built.

9. CURRENT PROJECT STATUS

QNET is experimental and under active development.

The current network is a test network. Its software, economic parameters and protocol implementations may change as development continues. Network halts and resets are possible.

Users should understand these risks before operating nodes, deploying contracts or holding network assets.

No monetary value is guaranteed for QNC or any other project asset.

11. ABOUT THIS THREAD

I am a volunteer community leader openly recognised by the QNET developer after supporting the network and organising its community.

I am not the developer, project owner or an insider.

I started this thread to make QNET BLOCKCHAIN more accessible to people who want to understand its technology, economics and development.

I believe the best way to understand a blockchain project is to examine its architecture, source code, economic design and actual development.

Everyone is welcome to ask questions, discuss the technology, challenge assumptions and contribute constructive criticism.

You do not have to take anyone’s word for what QNET is building. Explore the documentation, inspect the repository and form your own opinion.

QNET BLOCKCHAIN

The code will speak for itself.
