If Bitcoin is one of the choices, I would say Bitcoin.

Because if we speak of long-term investment, it should be something that has already been tested, and Bitcoin from 2009 until now is still solid despite its many ups and downs.
That's the quality we should look for, if you try to invest in other projects at least put the bigger portion in Bitcoin, I would say 70/30.

Thank you.

I'll give you a hint: despite being the very first coin created, it's never been hacked. There's no risk of a centralized team selling its stake, like Buterin or Justin San's brother might. Because not a single coin has ever left the creator's wallet, and I'm absolutely certain it never will. Of course, I'm writing about Bitcoin because long-term investing (it's best to start with a four-year horizon) is the only right decision for any type of investor: whether you're a small investor just starting out or a large one, because Bitcoin is safe, has excellent volumes, and is easy to acquire.

You asked for a blockchain project or token is suitable for the long term, easy pick! Bitcoin.

A lot of these projects do look promising when their developers are very much active and funding is available but what happens if the people behind it decide to walk away tomorrow, will Will the network continue operating or will their absence affect it's survival, security and long-term value? You can't be too sure with any answer that you can respond to the above question with but Bitcoin has already survived different market conditions and still running without depending on anyone or group to function. That proven resilience is all you need to  know that it is the best long-term project.

I think OP must be looking for an answer on what altcoin we can recommend. I just have this idea since I checked his recent posts and they are mostly in the altcoins section. So if he considers Bitcoin as an answer then it should be Bitcoin, there's really no other crypto I would recommend for long-term holding, Bitcoin alone beats the entire altcoin market in terms of market dominance, currently at almost 60%, so why would we still gamble on others. After all, isn't he looking for a long-term investment?

We've seen different projects that came with very innovative ideas that looked too futuristic, hopped on them but they ended up becoming a bad choice for long-term investment. They come with so much hype to give us false hopes then go on to struggle with token economics and with time they became irrelevant.

Just like the other people above has rightly said, Bitcoin is the best option for a long-term investor. It might not be totally perfect but its limited supply, established network, security and growing adoption gives it a substantial edge and more suitable for long-term investment ahead of any others.
