That is true. I have tried both ways and feel calculating the profits and managing the bankroll effectively before placing the bets is a more rewarding strategy.
It's not always that we will be in profits but it does help sometimes by giving us an edge and help us increase our overall profits.

Sure, "bankroll management" as you put it will have a tiny bearing on whether you win or not. You seem to be misunderstanding what Bankroll management really is ..Bankroll management is more of a risk control strategy....Now, gambling itself is very uncertain and profits aren't always a guarantee regardless of the odds as well are the amount you used in staking...The implementation of bankroll management as a gambler is simply to help curb the amount of risks and then limit the possible amount of losses that a gambler could very well incur...Bankroll management doesn't necessarily increase the chances of profits neither doesn't it make one a more better and profitable gambler...Which means s that you could employ bankroll and still make losses due to the uncertainty in gambling or probably even because of poor decision making...
