Imagine doing your research, getting excited about a company, and finally securing an IPO allocation. Then listing day arrives, the wider market turns red, and your investment opens below the price you paid. That's the part of IPO excitement I think people often overlook.
We've seen how quickly sentiment can change in AI. Companies like $NBIS and $CRWV have attracted plenty of attention because of their connection to AI infrastructure, but the recent pressure on these stocks shows that a strong growth story doesn't protect investors from a market correction.
Now Anthropic is entering the conversation, and I'm curious whether people are evaluating the company itself or simply buying into the excitement around another major AI name.
My preference would be to understand the IPO valuation first and, if it looks stretched, wait for ANT to trade on Nasdaq before making a move. An allocation isn't automatically an advantage just because it comes before public trading.
Of course, waiting has its downside too. If demand is strong, the stock could move higher before there's a comfortable entry.
Is getting an IPO allocation really an advantage, or have traders become too obsessed with getting in early?
