This is going to be a good fight, finally Miel Fajardo now has a chance to become a world champion as he will challenge Masamichi Yabuki for the IBF Flyweight World Championship. This fight will actually be held in Japan, so I think his best chance of winning is by KO.

Looking at the challenger's record, he has 14 wins and 12 of them are by KO, although he also has some losses, but I think he has a good chance of winning even though the bookies have listed him as a heavy underdog.

As for the champion Masamichi Yabuki, he is also a good fighter and a KO artist with 18 KOs from 20 wins. So I believe we will not see the full 12 rounds here.

As much as I want for Miel Faardo to win, I more inclined to say that Masamichi Yabuki would probably win. I mean, he seems to have more experience when fighting top tier boxers compared to Miel Fjardo(at least based on what I've read).

To be honest i have not followed the career or have seen a fight involving Fajardo as he is not a popular name in the Philippines yet but who knows this might be his breakout fight should he win against Masamichi Yabuki. This is a hard fight for him since this will be held in Japan so the only way for him to win is knockout his opponent and not rely on the judges as Japan is known to be biased when it comes to decision but since Fajardo is a knockout artist, he have this puncher's luck.

In my observation, it seems that the lower divisions are not that popular, especially since this is even lower than the division where Inoue currently holds a title. Because when we talk about the lower divisions, it's always Inoue that people keep talking about. Just look at it, even if either of these boxers wins and tries to move up, I don't think they would stand a chance against Inoue (sorry to the fans of these boxers here).

With that kind of odds, our fellow kababayan here are obviously is a huge underdog. But what can we say, we Filipinos are usually a heavy underdog is sometimes we go and with that kind of odds and overcome it.

Hopefully, this will be the case for Miel here, it is really a tall order, but if he trains hard enough and believed that he can pull a upset win, then let it be. As for us, we would love to bet on him as it's a big return for us and supporting our very own is like what we do specially in boxing.

Based on their records, the champion is really more experienced, but we can also look at where the challenger has an advantage and that is their age, because the challenger is only 26 years old while the champion is already 34 years old, so with that age gap, Fajardo might be more durable, so I think I will be rooting for him. Since both boxers are not that popular, I think it's worth taking a chance on the underdog given the big potential return.

There is huge difference between level of fighter he has faced and a world class champion like Masamichi Yabuki. Yabuki has already been tested on global stage, so he knows how to handle pace and possesses extensive experience in launching counterattack when under pressure.

Also, winning judges decision against Japanese fighter on their home turf is like scaling a massive mountain. So, you are quite right that Fajardo's only chance is KO. But problem is that Yabuki's defense is much sharper now than it used to be. If Yabuki moves to the wing, I have seen him close defensive gap very quickly. If he starts throwing reckless punches then he'll have nothing left in tank by middle rounds. And taking advantage of that, Yabuki could break him down with body shots and relentless pressure!

I'm a big fan of local boxers here in the Philippines, but Miel is one boxer that missed my attention; anyway, I will look and check his previous fights.
Filipino boxing fans are still excited after Carl James Martin won by a split decision against Picasso, and hopefully Miel will continue and give local fight fans something to be proud of and excited about. Even if Masamichi Yabuki is the favorite, I'll still go for Miel, hopefully via knockout.
