This is at least the 5th time I've seen this thread in the last year or so. Every time, the resurgence gets worse
Yep. These guys just need to wait a few months. I am quite sure the alt coins shall start flowing once again.

Now? giant premines? "IPO"? NO PROBLEM... insta-listing. Dump. As long as there are so many places to "get out of a coin" not much is going to happen in the alt world until you actually have to nurture value out of a coin....
solution only buy into established alts with proper dev and community..... but that's lost on alot of the get rich types around here.isnt that pretty much most of the people around here?

Maybe if bitcoin falls further in value there will be less and less shit coins released. I heard that before bitcoin zoomed up in value there were very few alts, perhaps because people thought there would be no money in them. By last christmas people were talking about bitcoin hitting $1 million, and the dollar signs obviously lit up in plenty of unscrupulous devs eyes.
I think it was far harder to make an alt back then as well. As ArsTechnica pointed out in their altcoin experiment, it only takes a couple hours and $200 to launch your own alt from start to finish with no programming required.

Launch is one thing, support is another. That is a key difference. Do you have developers who will work through the weekend to fix a key security exploit? Support for a coin is how it lives or dies in reality. Then there is community and marketing. Whether or not people are in it for a quick buck, or something longer term.

Out of all the country coins, I think there is one that might actually be serious and that is NLG , guldencoin. They have just partnered up with a litebite a dutch site that does Euro/NLG pairing. They have also got the teams full identity on there homepage which is great considering all the scam coins and exchanges that have come recently. https://guldencoin.com/who-we-are/ --> This is really refreshing to see.

EFL, the first Dutch countrycoin, was on Litebit before NLG and was actually picked up by the media. Where are the media articles for Guldencoin? ... 29 news-articles (2 audio interviews, 1 on national news Radio) for Electronic Gulden [EFL]Ontopic: I think the shitstorm is over for a while but there's money to be made, so coins will be created...

Just imagine how many coins will appear when people realise the USD is junk. Gold and Crypto for me. There is almost 170 fiat currencies across the world. We have around 200 cryptos so far. It's quite similar amount Waiting for next big crypto boom.

It's quite similar amount Waiting for next big crypto boom. I hope not. All fiat currencies are the same since the 70's, not backed up by Gold and mega inflationary. Best scam ever which will lead to a huge wealth transfer from West to East (India and China have been hoarding gold for years as it holds value). I visited India a couple of years ago and bought gold from Dubai on route after being advised to do so from a friend. Was easy to sell at a mark-up in India (they can't get enough of the stuff). That being said you can buy Gold and sell at a mark-up on eBay (morons pay 15-20% more than it's worth).
