is BAMT supported?

Yes, just update your sgminer in BAMT with this one: https://nicehash.com/software/

Any chance NiceHash can build CGminer with the NiceHash fix they added, because each time I try to build it I am getting errors if there are issues with the code.

Like ws2tcpip.h is not compatible with winsock.h. Include winsock2.h instead.

Unfortunately, we discovered that all cgminers, including new ones have idlebug. I suggest ckolivas is informed about this bug so it gets fixed asap.

Can you please explain in more detail about "idlebug" and what this means?

They mine ok if I just put them on your pool ... so it this something related to the use of the "price" option only?

There are multiple bugs in cgminer related to pool's being inactive or unavailable, but not marked as much.

The most severe example has been discussed a few times in this thread, and I provided an overview and 1-line hack to fix the issue (that any competent programmer should be able to turn into a comprehensive fix).

I'll be testing this today, but it *appears* that the "idle bug" has been fixed in all of the "kanoi" versions of cgminer as of May 2nd - v4.3.1!  The latest is v4.3.2 for AntMiner S1 ...

https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer/blob/master/NEWS

This is the flavor of cgminer I am using with my AntMiners ... but am running an older version: v4.2.2a  I'll post again when I update!

BTW ... Kanoi has binaries available also:  https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries

I'm hoping this solves my issues, and solve them for others too!

Good news ... bad news.  I've run my tests on one of my AntMiner S1 with the updated "kanoi" cgminer above.

Good News:  It appears that the "idle bug" has been fixed as I can now specify the "price" option in the password, and it is working properly.

Bad News:  I'm now getting a large number of rejects and discards that I have not seen before.  About 50% !!

Can someone else maybe look at this version of cgminer and see if they get the same?  Any suggestions on options to add or alter to attempt to get things working better?

If we can determine the cause I'll open an issue with kanoi to get it fixed!

Using NiceHash..    Not using the P option as I seemed to have issues with pool switching on my GAW hosted miners..

Not sure where the issue is.  On GAW side or on the NH side..   Could the idle bug be affecting me?

Also other strange behavior I just noticed.. When I receive a payment from NiceHash, all the sudden my hash rate on NH drops to like 0 for a few minutes and then slowly goes back up to normal..

Is this suppose to happen?

Did 2 restarts of stratum - that clears hashing speed back to 0, so it takes 5 minutes for it to get back to normal. Nothing to worry about, just stats.

Yeah I get 60% rejects from my antminer S1 with kanoi's binaries.  It did work fine on nicehash website a long time ago but something changed their end and its not worked since.  So I don't put my s1 hashrate here anymore sadly.  Maybe nicehash can supply binaries the same way kanoi does and we can use those ones.  Who knows.

edit: for reference the antminer binaries are here: https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries/tree/master/AntS1

What are the type of rejects you are getting? Share below target, duplicate share or job not found?

Honestly I dont know as I dont see the cgminer screen on my antminer.  I only go into ssh to update the binaries on these devices.

building cgminer in windows was a nightmare I spent 2 hours trying to get it done and could not get it done ran into nothing but problems. I then installed linux alongside windows and was able to build cgminer in 20-30 minutes. It is so much easier to build using linux and most of the drivers are already installed on linux.

So occasionally I throw some small amounts of my hash rate to my backup pool but cant really tell why..

I assume its when there are not enough orders on NiceHash?    But is there some way to see this on NiceHash?  Would be nice if on the front page you could list a real time percentage of like orders filled or something..  Not really sure what it would show exactly?

My issue is I wonder is my pool switching on my side having issues or is it on the NiceHash side etc..

If your mining software does not implement extranonce subscriptions, then for every order swap, reconnect is needed. It can happen that in such case, your miner will switch to backup pool for few minutes before switching back to NiceHash.

You can view all orders, and stats for orders on main page.

Ok, it was a bit difficult getting log file as the default antminer S1 settings hides cgminers display.  So had to kill process and run my own cgminer outputting to log file.

Ran it for 5 mins.

Code:

This is using the binaries from here:

Nicehash website says ~60% reject rate.

Thank you for your very fast response to my questions..

As the password.

-p p=4.0;d=2048

I know the d= works for GAW miners but not sure it works if you combine the p=x;d=x for GAW hosted miners.

Try to run it with some logging options and then paste content of file here.

Ok, it was a bit difficult getting log file as the default antminer S1 settings hides cgminers display.  So had to kill process and run my own cgminer outputting to log file.

Ran it for 5 mins.

This is using the binaries from here:

https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries/tree/master/AntS1

Nicehash website says ~60% reject rate.

The only thing that comes to my mind is that this miner is modifying ntime. We don't allow modified ntimes, because we have no methods to evaluate whether modified ntime would be accepted by remote pool or not. There should be a way to force miner not to modify ntime; in fact, there is plenty of extranonce2 size so the ntime doesn't have to be modified. Guess that is the change compared to older miner.

does sgminer work without any problems on nicehash? do I use the stratum address plus my address for username and do I need to use any special setting for password?
